  1. Fishing a Jig for me as well... Still haven't learned when and where and why even after reading tons. I may try to have one on at all times and force myself to fish it.
  2. I bought a used pair of Costa's for $70 on a forum and I love them. If you look hard enough, you can find deals.
  3. Would love to try and be there... As long as I can learn something. I will be there from Mar 4-7 just to let yall know.
  4. I use the Falcon FTO 703(http://www.***.com/descpage-FTO703.html)for both my spinners and buzzbaits. It works well for me as I have other falcon boxes in my bag. The plano boxes would be nice if I had the room in my bag, but I don't. They just came out with a newer model. It looks nice, but I don't know if it's any different. http://www.***.com/descpage-FTO803.html
  5. I used to own one and I used it just like Paul did. The 28 ipt worked well with spinnerbaits. I'm sure it can be used for different applications as well. The recent sale on those reel's have made it a hard deal to beat for such a great reel.
  6. In my opinion, no. Like he stated above, these rods are underpowered. So a med is to light to handle the deep cranking.(IMO) You really do need to feel them if you can to see what I mean.

    Well put...
  8. I love the XF for any worm fishing. It maybe something you'll get used to, or you may hate it. But usually the XF rods have a really good backbone to pull them lunkers out of anything. I'd keep it if I were you. I've been hearing a lot of good things about those carbon lite rods.
  9. I recently bought a casting Cumara CUC-72MH. They are definitely sweet rods. It was my first shimano rod as well. You're gonna love it. Can't beat that warranty either.
  10. Owner's are super sharp... A good buddy turned me on to replacing the front hook with a red owner stinger. Although red hooks may not mean anything, it's worked for him in the past, so I'm giving it a shot this year. Confidence booster for me. Either way, they're great hooks.
  11. Watermelon with red flake... Black and Blue laminate is a close close second...
  12. I bought the BCC-5-1610 (6"10' MH) and I plan on using it for my square bill cranks(LC RC's) and anything similar. the tip seems to work perfect with that. For a rod around $100, you can't beat it. Good luck with your purchase.
  13. That sounds crazy.. I own 2 and love the smoothness of the retrieve and the casting ability. I would bring it to BPS and tell them to exchange it, They should be able to do that.
  14. Geez.. Thats a tough one.
  15. I've owned em all, but it would have to be Shimano without a doubt... But I hear once you own a Steez, it shifts your train of thought a little bit.
  16. My thoughts excactly ,but the clear line is no where near as stiff as the colored line.(In my opinon, which may not be a good one) It could also be that wal-mart may have had those spools for years or so. I'm sure age has to play a part in it at sometime.?.?
  17. I'm not a pro staffer... I own 2 of them. DX 703C and the Dx 704C. They have both treated me very well... The 703 is a rod I feel that everyone should own. It's so versatile. Congrats on the purchase as I remember the first "higher end" rod I ever bought.
  18. It is very good line... But my previous experiences with that line has taught me a few things. The spools you bought from wal-mart is still good line, as I have used it before. But, I may be wrong, but wal-mart never offered hybrid in a "clear" color. It was always green or smoke. In my opinion, the clear vs the smoke/green are 2 different lines. The smoke/green hybrid doesn't perform the way the clear does. You should try and find some of the clear and see for yourself. But at a $1 a spool. You cant go wrong. The "clear" 12# hybrid is one of my all time favorite lines ever and the spools at wal-mart turned me onto it.
  19. I love this line... Preferably the 12#. I'll use it for anything like spinners or cranks. I'll even occasionally throw it on a weightless senko rig.
  20. It's almost stupid not to now a days... I'm looking at a Shimano Core 50mg right now on ebay that is $70 lower than tackle warehouse. I've bought from reelsseller before. His prices are decent.
  21. I'm a huge believer in Rick Clunn's lucky craft cranks. Preferably the 1.5 series because of where I fish. 2 favorite colors are chartreuse perch and white shad... They're really hard to buy at $15.99, but I wait til they're on sale for $9.99. http://www.luckycraft.com/ProductNews/rc15.htm
  22. Hybrid 12# is one of my favorite lines. I can use it for just about anything. I haven't tried the soft though, so I'm no help there...
  23. I've got a CUC-72MH coming to me on Friday... You also can't beat the shimano warranty.
  24. Thanks for the welcome guys...
  25. I second the RC 1.5. It's one of my favorite cranks.... They sell rattling and silent so be careful when selecting. They run sales on em at BPS from time to time which makes them way more affordable.
