  1. Hey nj? Do you fish the worm wacky, with a finesse gap gammy, or?
  2. Does the boat sit for long periods? If so, you may need a stabilizer.
  3. Take leader line, straight. Twenty pound test. Thirty six inches will do. Run a walker sinker through one end, (a slip sinker will work) then tie a number five barrel swivel to that end. To the other end, tie on a number two Gammy (my preference) octopus hook. Tie this rig to your main and soak a live minnow. If you do not get any bites with this, it is not a good fishing day. Good luck. (when running the hook under the minnows mouth, make sure the point comes out below the eyes, insuring longer life to your bait, and it will allow it to swim more freely)

I have not. Although i've been killing LM with Gitzit tubes this year. Mostly in crawfish color. Although not my bait of choice in the 90 plus summer weather, i have taken LM on same tubes over grass beds and also in the shallows, when there isn't much light. (cloudy mornings mostly)

Hit the water at 7 AM today, fished until 2PM. Three LM, two three pounders and a beautiful 5 pounder. One muskie, a very fiesty fighter which weighed in at three pounds, two black crappie, both two pounders. I can not load the pics here (??) The LM were hammering tubes here for the past few weeks, all three were caught on a Gizit tube (crawfish color) and the muskie hit the same tube. One crappie was caught on a spinnerbait, the other on an inline Mepp's #4. My partner caught a 36 inch Pike three days ago. what a monster!
  6. I'll second the Interstate Marine. I use one battery for the TM, and fishfinder. The Interstate works perfectly.
  7. Van Sciver is one of three lakes that make up Penn Warner. It is a private fishing club. You can fish Nocomixon, a state park. You can also fish Marsh Creek, another state park. MC can be very productive.

    I really like the colors.
  9. The Vendetta is a great looking rod and comes in many sizes to cover most all fishing styles. Abu Garcia is also a top notch company that stands behing thier products. Go for it!
  10. Cool for you! But beware, the monkee WILL be back!
  11. Bass suspended in cold water? Give me a Rapala jerkbait. Let that SOB lay still while just twitching the wrist. Making it as lethargic as a cold water bass will entice a strike imo.
  12. A few in my collection make great "all around rods". One is an All Star 'team all star', 6'9" in length, line wt. 8-17 lb.- lure wt. 1/4 to 5/8, fast-medium. Great feel, perfect sensitivity. The model number is TAS815WW. I use it for the smallish sized swimbaits, but can see it would work as a worm rod or topwater. Heck, i bet i could toss small jigs in open water with it.
  13. This would be my guess.
  14. My opinion is gathered by talking to people and research. I have yet to launch the new boat. Minn Kota 'terrova' (55lb. thrust) is the trolling motor i went with.
  15. I had ordered a built in charger that was going to be placed in a great spot, out of the way under the gunwale. Then i realised the garage where i keep the boat doesn't have electricity. I had to cancel the work on the built in and order a portable charger.
  16. How can i 'fix' this pc to where i don't get so much lag. To watch the entire interview takes forever with the stopping and starting... anyone!?
  17. That should work. I like braid for jigging, if i'm in any type of cover. In your case, if your useing a spinning reel with that spinning rod, then certainly braid.
  18. I've had some luck with northern's on a six pack of lures i got from BPS. It's made by Mepp's, i think it was five in line spinners and a real nice spoon in a nice variety of design and color. Caught at least one pike on each, and a few on three of the lures. I'd say spoons are my fav. for the northern's.
  19. Right about now, i have enough tackle to stay on the water until next Feb. Many old standards were replenished, along with some new colors, new sizes (spinnerbaits, jigs, worms) along with a few new nice rods. I'm still looking at a few new buzzbaits, and a few new swim baits in different sizes. And lastly, about a dozen 'roadrunner' jigs in various colors, as i fish a lake with plenty of yellow perch. OH... some Uncle Bucks 'panfish creatures' (dragonfly) and perhaps a few more jerk baits.....oh, and...........(it never ends)
  20. Down the throat, and in the belly of most any LM.
  21. I may have caught bigger fish in my life than the one pound eel my son caught two years ago, at age 12, but none of those catches bring quite the smile or memory of my son's first fish.
  22. KVD will win #3.
