Haha yea sorry sometimes i feel like i have to explain every little detail

Have you guys ever been fishing and out of no where,not even mentioned in the forecast,a storm blows through?Holy crap. Last night we were fishing Pedro. We ended up catching probably 8 or 9,just me my dad and my friends.I dont like that lake lol we never reallly do very well on it. But anyway, the lake is about 45 min from my town, and its between my town and the mountains. Anyway,all day clouds towards my town were covering the sun off and on, and towards the mountains there was a huge giant wall of dark clouds. At the end of the day, i just catch a little smally and the clouds from the mountains are moving closer and we hear thunder and i see a glare of a lightning flash in the distance.We were gonna leave in a few minutes anyway,but my dad wanted to fish this point really quick and then go before the storm hits. I just started putting sstuff away while my dad was trolling over to the point, and then a little tiny sprinkle starts, then stops, the clouds are moving closer.Then it starts again,less drops but theyre huge,and my dads like alright lets get out of here. then it starts a heavy rain and we're putting everything away. It all starts happening at once, it doesnt just slowly unravvel. The thunder clouds meet us, and a huge wall of 40 mph winds just hits at once!it was just all partially cloudy,pretty hot, and calm during most of the day? Right about then we were all sitting down and gunned down on the throttle. We were trying to outrace the storm. We got out on the main lake and what was earlier calm was now deadliest catch with white caps and it was pouring down rain. I had never seen anything like it. Luckily our new boat handles rough water like a champ and we got back to the ramp pretty quick. Waves were crashing by the ramp and my dad pulled up and got on the dock and started running up to the truck while me and my friend struggled to hold the boat to the dock against the wet rain and waves and wind. My dad backs the trailer in the water and he took it from there. IT was really hard to keep the boat straight because every time he was on track a huge wave would knock him off course and you could see he was really nervous, But hes really good at it so it only took him a few tries. But i tell you what lol it was a great feeling to pack up and start driving home. that was crazy. ive never seen anything like that. by the way i dont know if this was supposed to go under my fishing trip or tournament because i wasnt trying to talk about how the fishing was

Hahaha thats funny . I havent seen a bass do that but i have been to ponds and seen little 8 or 9 inch bass doin all kinds of freestyle trying to catch dragonflies lol

I hate PETA.Most of them are dumber than trash and babble on about crap thats untrue and have the most out of wack opinions.They never know what theyre talking about either theyre very uneducated about things. And ya what you guys said fisherman and hunters do more for the outdoors than anyone else on this planet, and were pretty much some of the only ones. With out fishermen and hunters, everything would plummet. PETA just complains,they dont actualy do anything whatsoever to help the environment. The just complaaaaain and complain.A lot of times over the stupidest crap too.Like one time they tried getting the California Happy Cows commercials over here banned because they "depicted cows grazing on grass over lush rolling hills when really they are in mud holes with bladder infections. While that may be kind of true,thats not the point of the commercials really i mean theyre meant to be funny for one

Have any of you ever used the spin tech hooks?i saw some on stihls reel in the outdoors today and they look awesome i wanna get some after my little 5pound plus fish coming off incident lol

Ya i was trying to play that one as lightly as i could because i knew there was a chance she was just barely caught on one of the trebles,plus crankbaits can come undone easily anyway. She started to come up to jump one time but i managed to stop her from that, i mean if she was on a worm or something i wouldve wanted her too but not in the case i was in.I need to loosen my drag up a little now that i think of it so next time she can pull it a bit a easier

Hahahaha ya the guys that know the delta like the back of their hand. Out of the winter,spring,summer,and fall patterns, we only have the summer pattern figured out so far and we're alright on the fall patterns.We catch a 5 pound plus fish probably averaging every 4 to 5 trips. We havent done as much fishing this year. Weve been really busy plus we were boatless for about a month because we sold ours and it took a little bit to find the one we bought.We usually go every weekend,but this years has just been way different. So far this year our biggest have been a 6 and a half my dad caught, a 7 plus that broke my dad off, and that 5 plus that came unbuttoned on my crankbait. I think we've only fished the delta about 4 times this year out of the times we have fished because of the wacky weather and temperature changes. Ill get another shot at a hawg Saturday, stripers are starting to come in too ;D. Its just one crappy feeling to feel a pig come undone though,and im sure i dont have to tell you guys that lol

it could have been a striper too but i doubt it cause usually you can feel them doing a lot of head shakes and they are running all over the place

Alrighty we hit the delta today.Me,my grandpa, and my dad. We moved to the main channel after fishing our regular spotts. Started throwing crankbaits on the rock levees. I was throwing a Red Eye Shad,i usually throw shallow running square bills but this time i decided to throw this guy. We were catching some fish. We started moving down the channel and theres this bush on the bank that made a big shade pocket on the water. I cast into it and started cranking. After my crankbait was about to leave the shade pocket,i feel that tick tick BAM feeling,and i thought it was just a good 2 pounder,but after a couple more seconds,this thing started pulling me all over,staying down and doing short bursts and stripping line. My blood was pumping because i knew this was a 5 pound plus fish, and my grandpa had the net ready. Man is it a crappy feeling when you know you have a big fish on a crankbait,especially a lipless one. Atleast when you have one on a worm or jig or something,you know he's usualy stuck good. But i was really really nervous and this fish was just pullin and pullin,i was playing him out as easy i can,and i felt her start coming up a told my grandpa to be ready,and RIGHT when she was getting ready to come near the surface, i feel a tick tick and my crankbait comes flying out of the water that was a crappy crappy feeling. I hate losing big fish. I never even got to see her :'(. Hopefully next time i will have the pig on a frog or single hook on a jig or worm,not on a treble hooked bait

They are taking over our lakes too. They get so bad that they out compete eachother so much that almost everyone u catch sometimes is a dink. They can be fun to catch,a lot of times they save you from being skunked,but id take 10 LMs any day over 30 dinky winky spots

Not what i was saying. I was saying he was training the fish to come to him for yum yums,not because of what he was feeding them And you don't think the bass know where the trout wagon is dropping them off at? Between this point, and some others, you are in over your head. Probably better to listen. Someone much smarter than most of us might comment. Cali bass fisherman dont just like look for trout trucks and gun it over there and start catching hogs you know. The size of the lakes around here are pretty gigantic,so i doubt all the big bass are in an area and they all hear the trout truck and rush into the area. i dont think ive ever heard of someone spotting a trout truck and just waiting for it to dump and start fishing big swimbaits and catching the big bass feeding on the trout

its not a "certified" world record. It still shows you how big bass can get and its bigger than any other one caught. Just because it didnt meet the standards to be the official record (just cause it was fowl hooked) does not take 5 pounds off of the fish. Its still 25 pounds. oh and by the way when i said the 22 of 25 biggest have come from california i wasnt trying to brag for california i was just saying 24 of the 25 biggest bass have come from the US while japan is the only other country on there that has a fish in the top. Correction, they have THE fish ON TOP. No other fish matter at this point, IMO, only the next fish that is bigger. Dottie was a great looking fish, but it's still not the record. Argue until you are blue in the face, doesn't matter to me. There is a reason Mike Long, Mattlures, WRB and other Cali bass guys don't "officially" report their big catches: 1. They don't want people knowing where the fish are being caught. 2. If it's not "The One" then who really cares if it's certified or not? 25 is still bigger than 22,foul hooked or not.
