  1. Sorry, try this. http://animatedknots.com
  2. Here is a pretty cool site for knots. animatedknots.com
  3. Thanks for the info, but $36 is a bit much for a piece of rubber. I try to find another way.
  4. Hello and welcome. 8-)
  5. Snagged a 4# carp with my ultralight right behind the dorsal fin. Thought I had a world record.
  6. When trolling for salmon on the great lakes, we experimented by putting scent on half the baits we used. The sented baits caught more fish. You be the judge.
  7. Crappies suspend! That is what an avid crappie fisherman told me was one of the most important thing to remember. When I asked him why, he said crappie don't see things below them. He said if you have a locator and you see fish suspended at 15', all your presentations should be above that. He also said if you don't have a locator you can use a small spinnerbait to locate them and then a slipbobber to find the depth. Something to think about.
  8. Welcome aboard. Good to see another wisconsinite. Where in the north are you? I'm in Chetek, but formally from the Rhinelander area. 8-)

Hello and welcome to BR. 8-)
  10. I have a 1966 14' Starcraft aluminum boat with 15hp motor. I pulled the motor off and there is a moulded rubber piece that fits over the transom. It is weathered and in bad shape. I don't know what it's called or even if they make such a thing anymore? Was this just used to protect the transom? Is it necessary or is there a different method that's used? Thanks!

    Hello and welcome to BR.
  13. Maybe I should try the surgical tube on muskies.
  14. Jig Man has the answer. These parasites are normally found in Perch, Rock Bass, Bluegills and Panfish. You usually notice them when cleaning the fish.

  16. I use a net on big fish, but I don't lift them out of the water. Some guys say netting hurts the fish but I don't agree. After seeing pros bounce fish off everything in the boat, netting is far less stressful. ;D

    Hello and welcome.
  18. Soft plastics are big in musky fishing. Musky Innovations ( bulldawg) is one mfg that comes to mind. muskyshop.com
  19. I think you handled it the right way. Kids process information differently than adults. Things that are a big deal one day are forgotten the next. Keep it simple, sometimes more information is to much.
  20. I bought a couple packs from TW last month. Tried them out just to see how they looked. The tentacles have more action than the Fat Ika. I'm not looking to replace the ika, but sure am going to experiment a lot with the hydra.
  21. If your serious about fishing, a good depthfinder is a must. My advise would be save your money. You get what you pay for and as time goes buy, you won't be happy with a low end depthfinder. Do some research before you buy. Check some posts here on BR. There are guys on here with a lot of knowledge. The one comment I would make about your boat is be careful. A jonboat with a raised deck can be kind very unstable. Tight lines...
  22. Hello and welcome. 8-)
  23. The drop shot rig is just a new variation of an old technique. The way it's fished can also be varied to match different situations. Fishermen who try different things, usually catch more fish.
  24. Welcome to BR.
