  1. Nice work !!!!
  2. Pesonally, I don't use rattles unless the water is very, very muddy and most times I look for some cleaner water. Just my preference though. Normally when I do add rattles, I add a glass one to the plastic trailer. Just like you would a worm or creature type bait.
  3. 8-) Nice job. Very interesting idea.
  4. Look good enough to eat. Nice job.
  5. Couple of colors of Beavers and the same with Brush Hogs, maybe 6 packs total. I just restock the boat after each trip. I hate sorting through to much tackle to find stuff.
  6. 8-) I like it!
  7. The double line of the loop has more a chance of snagging on something. x2 with what skunked said also. Rapala has a knot that forms a loop, but its small. You couldnt loop it around a bait. It works good with hard baits though.
  8. 8-) stuff. Very nice job.
  9. Youth hockey is crazy. My son travels up and down the east coast almost every weekend. The weather might really affect the game. Its real sunny here in NY and temps are nice. He must have been real excited, that's a great experience. Hopefully they got some on video for ya.
  10. Now thats awesome. 8-) Who does he play for?
  11. They probably don't. I just like to have certain colors, head styles, even hook sizes for different lakes or conditions. A custom jig allows me to have a specific jig for specific applications. If your just going down the band flipping, there's no reason any jig wouldn't work and just starting out there's no reason to get crazy. Over the years I just started to break situations down and modify or make or get baits made to fit those situations. Plus they look pretty.
  12. My local, walk around pond bag includes: 1/8 blk finesse jig w/ craw trailer (3) 1/8 spinnerbait (2) Keitech Swing Impact 4" (pearl) Hand poured frogs (2-3 and 1 color) Some 4" worms (2 colors, not full bags though) Small asst. heads and hooks Everything in a ziplock and in my jacket or pants pocket.
  13. All jigs are not created equal. I'm not saying spend $4 a pop, but.... Semi custom or custom jigs have: More skirt material Better hooks Better paint Custom colors Wire or thread tied (bands are fine, but tend to dry rot over time) Just my .02 though.
  14. Dont like either team, but like the Penguins less. Go Caps. LETS GO RANGERS! ;D
  15. Winter Classic was moved from 1:00 to 8pm due to the rain. This will be different. Now I have to wait all day and the 2 games I want to watch are on at the same time, Winter Classic and Rangers. Good game on tonight on NHL Network USA vs. Switzerland in World Juniors.

    Welcome.
  17. Any wire is fine, only make sure its not too thin. If it is it'll cut right through when you twist. I've been using .025 stainless on all my jigs for a while now and haven't had or heard of any issues. X2 with leaving the band on until after you make your twists, then just slide it off or cut it.

    Site looks good.
  19. I don't see any pics???
  20. I've been using Petzl's for work and home/fishing. They seem to hold up well and batteries last a long time. The band is comfortable also. Even comes in a camo color, I think.
