Need fluke advice...fish spitting them out...
Try mono on a softer rod, sometime with the less stretch of flouro you might feel the bite earlier and yank it away. Also, if your using an offset wide gap hook, try a swimbait hook of similiar size with the screw lock to hold the front of the bait.

where to use a buzzbait
Late spring - early fall. Around any type of cover (docks, rocks, wood, etc) or over grass. From shoreline to about 8 ft is prime, but I've also caught over grass in 10-12ft. Early and late in the day are best, but some big fish come midday on buzzaits for some reason. It's always good to try a few cast with one before you leave a spot.

Soft Plastic Organization
I bought a few binders from BPS. They're more like small bags than true worm binders. They hold a lot more and are neater than the regular binders. I've come to the conclusion there is no perfect system. I've moved stuff around, bought and sold boxes and binders, threw everything in plastic totes at one point and keep going back to some sort of binder.

Does a point hold fish all year around?
x2 on the dying grass, but the fish might also have moved deeper down the point. Later in the year, they will setup on deeper structure. Try fishing the deeper end with spoons or blade baits. Though right now I don't think this is the case. Still to warm.

Gambler Bacon Rind
My sons been using them at a local pond. He's complaining they don't hold up like brush hogs do. He's fishing black w/ chart. tail and after one peck the tail is gone.

Crab Pots as a ledge marker?
The pots can be a starting point. They will normally place them very near a drop or other form of stucture. Plus, if the pots are near an edge the fish will use them a structure, just like boat moorings, rock piles, etc.

One of the Worst Feelings

The bullet jig
GMAN, That hook and mold are a great combo. I've been using something real similiar all season. It does have very good weedless qualities and is also good for a swim jig, like someone said. Nice jig.

need help with pond
Try a tiny brush hog on a light big bite jighead. This is deadly at a local pond I fish. Also a 3" wacky rigged senko and a frog type bait have been very good. My son uses a bass pro shops stickguard on his jighead and it keeps it pretty weedless.

Hair Jigs for smallies
Like Dwight said, I mainly use them in colder water. They are a great pre spawn and winter bait. I almost always fish them with no trailer, but when I do it's a piece of a straight tail 4" worm in the same color as the hair jig. Pretty much always black. I either drag the bait slowly just off the bottom, or hop and fall back to the boat. They work both shallow and deep. They catch a lot of largemouth, too.

Books or Dvds
I don't know about informative, but Bass Wars is a great read. It goes through a year on the pro trail in the late 80's. There was a series of books made by In Fisherman that were specific to bass, those were very informative.

HELP! with punching mats
A larger size hook might be necessary, but the punch skirts are not. Being that you using 65lb braid and fishing really thick stuff, a larger heavy duty flippin hook might hold the fish better. I normally use around a 4/0-5/0 depending on the bait size. I know guys swear by punch skirts, but I'd rather fish the way your doing it. A 3/4-1oz tungsten weight, 4-5/0 flippin hook and a brush hog or 7" power worm is my choice.

Big Score at Dicks!
You can't argue with those prices. I'm surprised they just dump the stuff like that.

Spinning Reels and Braid?
Thanks for all the info. I'm definiitely going to switch over and use the leader. I'll probably go with the Power Pro, I use on my saltwater stuff, but nothing that thin. That tug on the line trick is the way to go. I do it with all my spinning reels and it definitely becomes second nature.

Whaley Lake, NY 8/27
Took the family to Whaley Lake today. Thought it was going to be a zoo, but it was deserted until around 2 pm. Weather was beautiful. Slight wind, sun and cool until 12 pm. Nothing on worms or jigs in the weeds or on the outside weedlines. Everything was on frogs in the slop. Landed about a dozen bass between 1 and 2 lbs, nothing big, but a lot of fun. Had another 20 or so blowups or missed fish.

Big Score at Dicks!
Went the other day. It was cleaned out. I was looking for the 3" wooly hog tails and tiny brush hogs for pond fishing and found alot of empty spaces. Always a day late and way more than a dollar short.

Spinnerbaits in the "slop"
I'm gonna try it tomorrow.

weed question
X3, it's always better with a clean lure.

floating docks
They do hold just as many fish, it's just harder to get under them. I normally fish the back, under the walkway and then the front and sides. Try to flip in right next to it. I'll us jigs worms and creature baits for the bottom and run a spinnerbait, crank or buzzbait along the sides. Also there is normally some cement blocks or something anchoring the front in place. Don't overlook these.
