  1. I just purchased a Hot Maps East for a Lowrance Lms 3200, I put the card in a nothing happens. The gps uses the basic maps. How do I get this thing to work? Thanks, Dominic
  2. 8lb line doesn't snap that easily. I've caught nice fish in the weeds with 8lb Trilene XL. Maybe it was nicked up a bit. If it's real heavy weed, I would definitely go to a larger line, as long as the lure can be fished correctly with it. How was your drag set? If you get more bites with the lighter line, no need to change, maybe just adjust a few things. Make sure it's fresh line, line thats been on a reel awhile can deteriorate(?) quick. Check your drag, your line guides and the roller on the reel. Make sure everything is in working order and 8lb should be fine.
  3. Armoralled half the bench seat. Took off and so did he. Right to the floor. ;D He got me back though. Fishing a night tournament, he asks me to take a leaf off the end of his line. I reach for it and its a bat, it starts flappin and sqealin, scared the **** out of me.
  4. I like Stanley Wedges, but I had a guy make me some custom 3 blades that I put my own skirt on and they're working great.
  5. For a standard worm: 7" Berkley Power Worm 4" Berkley Finesse Worm 4" Luck E Strike Razor 4" Luck E Strike Ring worm (mostly for rivers only, don't know why though) Just got back from the Everglades and used a 16" stright tail worm. Some nice fish on it, but I don't know if I could throw it up here with confidence.
  6. 1/8 Backwater Baits black finesse football jig 3/16 Spider Slider head w/ Berkley 4" finesse worm Gold Blue Fox in line spinner 4" wacky rigged Senko 1/4 football head w/ green pumpkin hula grub
  7. Look good, nice colors.
  8. 1/8 oz. jigs, 4" worms / slider spider head and hair jigs. Sometimes a small tube.
  9. x2 on the lift, drop and drag. I've mostly caught early in the year on tubes with the inserted head. I 've caught more in the warmer months with a flippin tube, but now with the creature baits and hula grubs I very rarely fish a tube at all anymore.
  10. Fished the Everglades (actually the canals off I 75). What a blast. Started out with some big worms, 12 and 16". We caught some on these which was fun, never fished anything that big before. Then caught a bunch on swimbaits, senkos and spooks. In total, probably had 40 bass in the 1-7lb range. Most were 1.5 - 3 w/ 2 over 5 and the one about 7. You guys have some great fishing down here. Tons of fun.
  11. Slow as possible, close or right over cover and throw it occasionally all day long, under any conditions.
  12. Try all your normal baits, but if all else fails smallies in rivers and streams love in-line spinners and 4" curly tail grubs (pumpkin). Topwaters early and maybe some small jigs.
  13. That does suck. Sorry to hear it. Happened to my wife this past Sept.
  14. If you caught them pre fishing that way, it is absolutely the way to start. I wouldn't not use it because of a tournament. I've caught 17lbs on a pop r in a tournament and 19 on a buzzbait, if that's what they want use it.
  15. That's the way I did mine. Sorry left out the butt connectors earlier. Use the shrink tube with the sealer inside. You'll never have a problem.
  16. Don't know about that pond exactly, but would assume most fish would be post spawn. I know here in NY and CT there are a few on the beds now, but thats about it. I'd start checking the weedlines in mid June.
  17. I believe it's #6, it's what i've used in the past. I soldered the connections and put shrink wrap over them. Hope this helps.
  18. Some do, some don't. I rarely use a rattle. If I do, I slip a glass worm rattle in the chunk or plastic trailer I'm using. I don't like them attached to my jigs. Just my .02 though.
  19. Thanks for the reply. I found a terminal strip designated for electronics. I've used this before, just wasn't thinking yesterday.
  20. I have a 461VS. I want to run the wires for the gps to the fuse block rather than directly to the battery, so the main power breaker will shut it down with all the rest of the accessories. That being said, I just noticed in the book there is a pin adapter feeding the back of the fuse block. This might put a kink in my plans. :-/ Does anyone know where I should connect the power supply to have it shut down with the main breaker. Thanks, Dominic
  21. I'm trying to add a gps to the boat, took off the fuse panel cover but can't get the panel itself off the mount. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dominic
  22. My version of a finesse jigs is a 1/8 or 3/16 wire guard football. I have one tied on all year long. Anytime fish are shallow finesse jigs will work. Excellent for around docks, rocks and shallow wood. I think the compact bait gets more bites. As far as fishing them, its the same as a reg. jig.
  23. 3/16 Wire guard football, brown orange for both species 1/4 Fiber guard grass or football for largemouth, black blue
  24. Haven't tried it as a jig trailer, but used a senko on a ball head and fished it around deep structure. It works great.
  25. X3 same in night as in day. Buzzbaits - I've done well with all white 10" Black Berkley Power Worms 4" Hula Grubs Pop R Spinnerbaits I've even had a night with a great crankbait bite
