  1. I have a few lews speed spools that the anti-reverse is not working. Is there anywhere I can purchase the anti-reverse part? I had a few replaced under warranty from lews but I just wanted to buy about 5 to have some spares.
  2. I switched to the Rick Clunn glass rods after hearing Brett Hite recommends glass for chatterbaits. I do realize the rod he uses is well over most normal people's budget. I really like how the glass handles the chatterbait. Fished the Tatula glass rod quite a bit Saturday. Rod feels great and cast great. It fells more heavy duty than the Rick Clunn glass rods. I didn't catch any fish with it so I can't really comment yet on how it handles the bass. I could really feel the thump of the chatterbait blades no matter what speed I chose to reel. Hopefully, this upcoming weekend I can catch a couple of toads on the rod.
  3. Just ordered a 7'2" mh Tatula glass rod for traps and chatterbaits. I have been fishing both baits on cheap Rick Clunn rod and love the glass. This is the most expensive rod I have purchased. I hope it works well for what I plan on doing with it. I will post reviews after tournament Saturday.
  4. Bass will eat that cotton Cordell pencil popper.
  5. I fish a lot during winter time. I mainly use an a rig, chatterbait, grubs, and jigs. What style plastics are the most productive in wintertime? Our water temps get down to around 42 degrees.
  6. I switched to a glass rod because of what I read about Brett Hite. I couldn't afford a real good rod but I purchased some Rick Clunn S glass rods a few years ago for 2 for $50. I switched to them last winter and I love them. Landed 10 5-6 lb bass on that rod. I would really like to have a good glass rod for this technique.
  7. Caught 2 over 6 last year on the same trip with temps in upper 40's.
  8. After further inspection I noticed the ends of the yellow and red wires on the CDI voltage regulators look burnt. Could this cause the same type of problem where it seems to drop cylinders?
  9. When is the best time of year to throw river 2 sea s waver 168? I know you could probably catch em all year on it, but when does it shine? I have experimented with it a little so far with no luck.
  10. Thanks I will try antisiphon valves first.
  11. Have a 96 150/mariner EFI that intermittently acys like its running out of gas. Changed fuel lines and fuel filters and it did not help. Carried it to shop and no luck finding out the problem. He said he thinks computer is bad. $1500 for a new computer. That is a lot of money especially for just a hunch. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I have caught more fish from boogerman than any other buzzbait.
  13. I am wanting a swimbait to fish in strong current (tailrace). I have had some luck with shadalicious on a 1/2" open jighead. What are some other baits that will work in strong current?
  14. A little over 200'. I can run electrical from house. However, I would have to go under a driveway and go around water lines to bury. Figured it would be easier and cheaper to set up a small solar cell.
  15. I am in need of some expert advice on a DIY solar panel set up. My 21' carport is a long way from my house. I am wanting to put a solar panel to run 1 outlet that will handle my minkota 3 bank charger. The only other thing is maybe putting a couple of led light bulbs under the carport. Any ideas?

Thanks. I guess It was a great day. 2nd best tournament I have had. One of the 6 lbers came from Bluebasser86's chatterbaits. Caught 2 over 6 and the rest were between 4.5 and 5. Probably culled 5 different 4 lbers.
  17. Went out a few weeks ago while it was raining and now the menu button and enter button will not work. It starts up and is stuck on the screen warning about not using for navigational. I can't hit enter to clear message. I am going to put another unit up front but would like to get this working so I can still use. Thanks

Had a good day a few weeks ago. 5 weighed 26.68
  19. I have made my own brush piles before and it is not as easy as people think. It is not like the "Field of Dreams" (If you build it, they will come). 1 out of 50 might be productive of the ones I built. I haven't built any in awhile because it is easier to side scan for cover or structure. By the way, he still had to catch the fish. Congratulations to him.
  20. I fished around trace bridge area.
  21. Fished pickwick out of Kayak today for about an hour. Water is chocolate milk but ended up catching one about 4 pounds. No sign of shad kill where I was at today.
  22. I am wanting to purchase a new unit. I already have a humminbird 798 that I am going to move to my trolling motor. I fish primarily Pickwick lake and I have 2 navionics cards and 1 lakemaster card. The lakemaster card for Pickwick is unreal. I want to purchase either the 998 at $1159 or the 999 for $1499. Is it worth the price difference to get the 999? I know processor is a little faster but what else makes the difference worth the more money? Thanks
  23. Found a used Jackson cuda close by used. Would that kdyak be ok for what I need? How much is it worth? Guess I don't mind spending a little more but I am not willing to spend more than $1k
  24. I will use the kayak primarily in the winter time so stability would probably be my main concern.
