  1. That is the one. Thanks
  2. I saw a bait in a tackle store on the gulf that I think would be awesome when the baitfish are real small. It was a silver round tube that had two treble hooks, about 1.5" long, weighed 5/8 oz, had a orange head. I can't remember the name. They made several sizes. I wish I would have bought a couple but the thought didn't hit me until after I left. Thanks
  3. I am headed to gulf coast and I would like to carry a rod to get some fishing done while there. I have never fished down there so I have no clue what to carry. Any suggestions?
  4. Any grass on pickwick matted yet? Mainly between trace bridge and stateline island. Haven't had a chance to get down that way lately. Going to do some looking maybe next Monday.
  5. I fish mine on 20lb braid. Gets down pretty deep. I don't throw it much. I have caught 2 fish on it. A 10" fish and a 5lber. It is not fun throwing it in 100 degree temps.
  6. X2 It has a diameter that is the same as most 12 lb mono lines. I have been using Viscous for the last year and just now switched to Sunline Super Flouro. Will not go back. For the price you can't beat it in my opinion.
  7. What gear ratio or retrieve per turn is better suited for the following: 6" shad hollow belly with a 3/4 oz open jig head?
  8. What about the flip clips? Has anyone had success using them first?
  9. My fishing partner caught 2 fish from 30' of water. When He released them they floated on there side. He ried everything to get them to go down. he put them in his livewell. i showed up a couple of hours latet to fish with him and they were about dead. I have witnessed the procedure numerous times on smaller fish but never on fish this large. I tried fizzing the fish without any luck. I even watched the Doug Hannob video before I tried the procedure. What changes on bigger fish? Do you go in closer to the fin?
  10. The 5" bull shad and maybe the 4" or 6" Spro. I have a setup that will handle those with ease.
  11. Thanks
  12. Where can one find the High Power Herring?
  13. I am looking to purchase one of these two baits. There is a huge price difference in these 2 baits. The bull shad is $55 and the Bbz-1 is $20. I am wanting this bait to fish in the tail races where I live. Any advice?
  14. I want to switch to tungsten for my Texas rigs. I have heard people talk about some brands fray your line. What do I need to look for? Which brands have been your favorite?
  15. I have the same set. For the first couple of months they worked great. Now if it rains more than about an hour I am soaked. I would not purchase again if I had to do it again. I should have listened to a friend who told me to spen the money up front on a good suit like BPS 100 mph suit or spend $100 for a couple of bad suits until I get frustrated and end up buying the good suit anyway.
  16. I like the clear spooks on bluebird days and a bone colored one other days.
  17. I have a 24v 71lb thrust trolling motor. My batteries are done and I need to replace them. I here conflicting reports on the agm vs lead batteries. It is going to cost me $160 more total to go with AGM batteries. Is it worth the cost?

I have tried wearing mine but with a full beard it is irritating. Need to try to get used to it.
  19. I want to buy a mold to pour open jig heads for bigger 6" swimbaits. I am wanting to pour 3/4 oz size the most because of the current and depth I will be fishing these. What is a good mold that will accept a hook big enough for the 6" paddle tails?
  20. I can't find any swimbait hooks I like in stock right now. I like fishing a 6" hollow belly with a 3/4 oz open jig head. Every local tackle store is out and a lot of the online places are out as well. I am new to fishing swim baits and I have had some great outings the last few days. I am down to only 1 hook. I was wondering if any of you swimbait gurus have fished swim baits on football jig heads (without a skirt of course)? I have been catching a lot of fish just slow rolling a normal swimbait head. I just don't want to waste time if it is not a successful way to fish the swimbaits. Thanks
  21. University of North Alabama. 5 minutes to Pickwick 10 minutes to Wilson 30 minutes to wheeler 2 hours to Guntersville You can fish 12 months out of the year.
  22. I fish at night a lot and I still can't catch a lot of fish on a jitterbug, spinnerbait, or buzzbait. I give them a good shot each outing. The most productive for me is a football jig, monster worm, or a finesse worm. I fish with a guy who has won a ton of night tournaments and the only thing he throws is a watermelon red finesse worm with a 1/8 oz tungsten weight. I have witnessed him put some monster fish in the boat. What I have learned from fishing with this guy is to fish the same thing you have confidence in the daylight hours. Get around fish with your confidence bait and you should get bit.
  23. Has anyone used tuf-line supercast for deep diving crankbaits?
  24. Boogerman
  25. I see a lot of people fishing from the shore right below wheeler on Wilson at safety harbor. It has a lot of current but plenty of room for people. Not real sure about wheeler.
