Pickwick Slowwwww For Me
I have fished pickwick 4 times in the last 2 weeks And I have boated a total of about 3 fish. I have never struggled this bad on pickwick. Most of my fishing has been between McFarland and Waterloo. This is my last weekend before I start back to school. Can anyone offer any reports?

Swim Jig Hook
I am new to building jigs and I am already addicted to the hobby. I built some swim jigs last night with the smj-3-sf using a mustad 30 degree 32886bln hook. My question: what is a light wire hook that will fit this mold without doing any modifications?

Jeep Wrangle And Bass Boat
I always had to use 4wd with mine but my clutch was a POS. I loved backing a boat with a jeep. U can back circles a round a telephone pole.

Difference In Side Imaging And Down Imaging
The side imaging can scan out to the side of the boat up to 240' I believe. It can help pinpoint structure or cover that is out to the side. The down imaging is directly under the boat. It is useful at looking at brush tops and other things directly under boat. However, I like the traditional 2d sonar better for this. Both have there uses but if I had to choose it would be side imaging. So much more you can look at with it.

Jeep Wrangle And Bass Boat
I have had numerous Jeeps. Pulling the boat is no problem. Stopping mine was a problem. You just have to prepare well in advance before stopping. A heavier bass boat will push a jeep. Another thing I hated about my latest jeep was putting in the boat by myself. The emergency brake was never enough on most ramps. I always carried a block to scotch under the front tire for extra security. The last thing is how well can you drive a manual transmission? Pulling a bass boat out the water with a manual transmission takes a lot of practice without burning the clutch. Just some suggestions.

Braid And Losing Fish
I have been playing around with braid a little more on things like spinnerbaits. I am new to fishing spinnerbaits at night and I have had some success the last 2 nights. However, I lost the 2 biggest fish on both nights. When fishing with braid, should you horse the fish in?

Lead Melting And Moisture
I heated it up outside and so far nothing has exploded. However, it is not gettIng hot enough to melt what was left in the small pot. It melts some of the lead but it is hard as a rock in the center. I guess it will need replaced. Thanks for all the replies

Lead Melting And Moisture
I have a small hot pot 2" for melting lead. A friend used it and when he was done he sprayed it with a water hose to cool it down. There was still lead in the small pot and it got wet as well. I am new to this and I know moisture and pouring lead don't go together. How long should I wait until the moisture problem is gone? Is it going to be safe to use this pot again?

Hotfoot Throttle Question
Could not read anything from cable. I unhooked the part on side of theottle and the black slide that the cable goes through I can pull out and it exposes the silver part of the cable. Is there an adjustment the locks that black housing to the cable? Or is that all one piece.

Hotfoot Throttle Question
Just checked it and it was hooked up. I unhooked the motor side and pressed the hotfoot and nothIng moved. I think my cable is broke inside. If that an easy fix or should I have shop do the repair?

Hotfoot Throttle Question
Just got new water pump put on boat and went out today to test out. Went to first spot to fish and everything worked great. Good pressure. Fished for about an hour and was going to go to another location. Started boat fine pushed on hotfoot and nothing. It went to the floor but did not rev the engine at all. Put it back in neutral and tried revving engine and nothing. Idled back to ramp and loaded boat. Any ideas.

Swim Jigs
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what swim jig has a good heavy hook? I have tried a few and the hook bends too easy. I use braid because I am fishing a lot grass.

Ledges At Pickwick
The locations I found last week had tons of baitfish and looked like tons of fish. I just couldn't get anything to bite other than a few 13" fish. Got a long way to go and a lot to learn still. Just amazes me to here people catching 40-50 a day in the 2-3 range.

Ledges At Pickwick
I want to learn how to fish ledges. I am only 15 minutes from McFarland and 45 minutes from Waterloo. How do you go about finding a productive ledge? I have fished some ledges the last few weeks on pickwick and I have only caught 10 or so small fish. I have 0 confidence right now on ledges. I have read every article on here about structure and it has helped a little but there is no substitute for seeing it with your own eyes.

Bluffs
Thanks for the replies. I went out this afternoon and fished a stretch of bluff for 3 hrs. I caught 14 fish and 11 of Them were smallmouth. I noticed I caught the majority of the fish on irregular features like you said. Thanks

Bluffs
I fish a lake that has tons of bluffs. Are these areas good structure during summer months?
