ive havent been there for a while and every time i go there i get skunked so dont be surprise if you come home empty handed. i recommend you have a top water lure tied on at all times just in case the bass starts to boil on the shads. i would also try a spinnerbait or crankbait in the morning and late afternoon near cover. but if the bite is really slow, throw a drop shot, senko, or a fat ika. ive also heard from a couple of guys that they were getting hogs from rat baits in the back lake. if you have any more questions, go to performance tackle(located on katella ave) most of the workers there go to el dorado alot more than i do. good luck on your next trip.

one time when i was fishing at the pier, i was reeling my bait in so i can change it. while i was reeling it in, i felt something really heavy on the end of the line so i set the hook. as it came closer, i saw that i had two walmart spinning combo at the end of my line and a sandbass on the other end of the other combo. that day i went home with two spinning combos and a sandbass

went to a local fishing store with my older brother and bought a new calcutta d 201. took it to the jetty and caught a spotted sand bass and a scalpun. so far i like the reel very much, its very smooth and powerful compared to my calcutta 251. cant wait to catch bigger fish on it.

you could always try using some hard body swimbaits like the 6in bbz. i was watching bill siementel catching some big ones casting as close as he can to the wall.

you should try using some owner twistlock hooks. ive been using them lately and it seems to hold the bait longer than the wide gap hooks.

Try a Shimano Cumara in the 68 Medium Heavy extra fast action rod. Im using this rod right now for all of my reaction baits on them and it handles them perfectly.

i've had lots of luck with the jackall crosstail shad nose hook or the jackall flick shake 4.8 rigged wacky

Hey guys, i am a shore fisherman and usually fish the city ponds. Well the temperature is about to get warmer and i know that frogs and toads would be great at this time of the year, but the only problem i have is i dont know how to fish it that well. so my questions are how do u guys work these baits in open water and near cover and also when to use the frog and when to use the toad because they both are different types of baits.

hey guys, i live in southern california and i fish local ponds. i am going out this weekend to throw a jig at eldorado, but i noticed that they've been stocking trout lately. so my question is will the stockings of trout affect the chances of me getting a bite on a jig and also will the bass be more active with the trouts around?

you could try lamiglas excel 735. i know that it can handle swimbaits because bill siemantel uses it to throw his 6in bbz and it might be able to handle to handle those types of spinnerbait

which model did u get? i bought their 701 spinning rod and i love it. i love the tip of the rod and also the sensitivity of this rod. paired it up with a shimano stradic ci4 1000ml and it is super balance as well as super lightweight. hope you like yours too.
