  1. I believe there is a screw on the handle side at the top which runs over to the brake side. Loosen the screw and then the brake side cover should come off. I can't remember if the side cover comes off up or down. Kevin
  2. Guys, I've tried them all, I change alot of hooks and none compare to the Xuron's. You hit it on the head jokerjp. So easy to open the split rings with these. No effort at all.
  3. No but you gave me an idea. How about an umbrella drop shot rig! OK. maybe not.
  4. Too much! $387.80. And another $168 from ***. Now time to use the stuff.
  5. I'm in Indiana and it is suppose to be 75 degrees tomorrow. I'll be out all day. Unusual weather for Indiana. I love it.
  6. Did any of you guys watch online the latest Major League Fishing Video? They were still fishing Amistad and some of the other guys were still throwing the A-rig but Van Dam didn't. He had 40lbs in 3 hours! Of course they count all fish caught within the legal lengths. He was unbelievable. He can locate fish better than anyone. Unreal.
  7. Oh its not so bad Darren, I'm out on my porch now. With my new Citicas, and all of my other rod and reels. Plus I picked up some ear plugs before I got home! Now I hope the coyotes don't get me tonight.
  8. Guys, I've got a Minn Kota Maxxum 55lbs thrust trolling motor that I have had since my boat was new. The issue I seem to be having is that I don't seem to have the top end speed I used to have with this motor. I changed to a new battery and also put in a new plug that was slightly corroded and also clipped the wires back to make sure they weren't corroded also but this didn't seem to help. Do you think that maybe some parts on the motor could be causing the lack of power or could the speed control on the foot pedal maybe have some kind of problem. Everything works it just doesn't give me the full speed I used to get. Thanks for any help you guys can give me. Kevin
  9. Yep, I just took advantage of the reel trade in too. Took in 2 old spinning reels, picked up 2 Shimano Citicas with $25 instant savings on each reel and will get another $30.00 on each one with rebates. Picked up $130.00 reels for $75.00. Wooo hooo.
  10. Chatta, I have no idea. The information leads you to believe they are the real thing but that price does raise some concerns. If it is the same quality I will have to buy some myself. Kevin
  11. Yep, after gaining a few pounds over the years, I decided in October to start lifting weights and doing cardio every other day. I've kept with it and definitely can see and feel the difference. I have more energy and I should be able to fish tournaments without getting tired.
  12. Thanks RM. It worked. I just didn't have the claw tight enough. I appreciate your help.
  13. Hey guys, Just cleaned one of my reels (Lews BB 1NG) and after putting it back together I am having intermittent fouling of the anti-reverse. It will work 4 or 5 times in a row and then it will allow me to turn the handle backwards for about 2 turns before it catches again. Please give specific details so I can quit driving myself crazy. Thanks for help.
  14. its very large!
  15. Hybrid is one of the few lines that you rarely see anything negative about. It is good stuff at a great price.
  16. Guys, hookset and I are right on this one. Xuron is the way to go. So easy to open any split rings with these. I think I paid about $15.00 for them. After using them I would have paid $30.00 for them. I've had other brands but none compare to these.
  17. I pitch these all of the time. Great baits.
  18. I'm glad of the decision. I believe it is a good call. Playing field is still level.
  19. Someone mentioned Reel Scrub. (Reel Scrubber) Unfortunately I went to order some from Birchwood/Casey and they are no longer making it. Booooooo. It has the ingredients listed on their MSDS sheets but it sure was nice to have in the spray can.
  20. I have way too many lures, japanese etc., but at our local tournaments over the last few years I have placed in the money over and over on a $1.59 lure that I won't mention here. It is as automatic as it gets and my partner just shakes his head every time I use it. I out fish his drop shot with it. I do use my more expensive baits for the big ones but my little cheap secret gets numbers by the boat loads.
  21. I do the exact same thing Jig Man.
  22. Oh yeah. You will cause premature wear on the drag components. Actually, you should loosen the drag after every outing. Kevin
  23. I'm a Hoosier. I live just northeast of Indianapolis and fish Morse, Geist and Monroe Reservoirs. Also West Boggs. Actually, anywhere there are bass!
  24. Hey nwibass, I'm in Lapel, just north east of Indianapolis.
