  1. I picked one up this spring and it's a monster! Casts a mile and has the wiggle from hell!
  2. Yes it does if you are on public waters. Even if you are just using oars. Also you may want to pick up a state park launching permit while you are at it. It's good for all state ramps.
  3. "There's more B.S. in fly fishing than there is in a Kansas feedlot." Lefty Kreh
  4. As near as I can figure...45 years. I started when I was 2.
  5. The Pfleugers I have, I like very much.
  6. Traps and believe it or not...Norman Fat Boys...
  7. I like six footers for tossing spinnerbaits when you are covering water and tossing at "spot" targets along the bank.
  8. Stren clear blue florescent and a black light. Glows like a yellow cable.
  9. Southwest Indiana Started out OK with good numbers, but nothing of any size. The last 6 weeks or so I have done OK with several larger fish up to about 5 pounds. The last two weeks have been brutal with local water temps hitting 91 degrees last night and the bite is definitely off. 6 hours on the water in the last two nights and exactly 5 dinks. I don't expect much until the weather breaks.
  10. You can also tweak the sensitivity up, also, and get a better picture of what's underneath.
  11. My partner used them at the last night tourney we fished and they were the only thing that produced. It was a full moon, if that makes any difference?

I find myself buying probably 90% Zooms. The only reason I deviate, is if I can't find what I want in a Zoom...
  13. Making sure that whomever is with me, boats at least one fish. Preferably the first fish...
  14. This year (thus far!!!) one combo, two rods, two reels. Wish list, is one more of each!
  15. Berkley makes good sticks for the price. If you like it, buy it. If you don't, don't. I own two regular Lightning rods that I use myself all the time. The shocks sold out before I could pick one up this spring and I haven't seen any locally since. Must be pretty crappy since they can't keep them in stock. People that break rods on hook sets are people that damage rods and fish them anyway. Then they like to tell you it's crap because they broke it setting the hook on a 2 pound fish. Either that or they candy cane it trying to boat a fish. In over forty years of fishing for all types of fish, I can honestly say that I have NEVER broken a rod setting a hook. Regardless of how much it cost... People that own $300 dollar bass rods are going to tell you that any rod that doesn't say Loomis or whatever is a P.O.S. If you've never owned or cast a $300 rod, will you ever know the difference? Neither will I...the most expensive rod I've got is a St Croix Legend Ultra. If you've got the disposable income to spend on the latest flavor of the week rods and $250 reels, good for you. Just quit crapping all over everybody that doesn't share the same "priorities"...
  16. I hear ya! I'm hoping that we miss the crap rolling in tonight.

And you would be wrong. They are like wearing a pair of tennis shoes.
  18. Just missed one Tuesday afternoon. We'd just about finished putting the straps on the boat when it hit. It went from practically calm to whitecaps in about 30 seconds. The hail came later...
  19. Zoom watermelon seed, T-rigged with a 1/4 bullet weight (either a parasite or free sliding). I've caught about 3/4 of my fish this year on it.
  20. This year it's probably been 80-90 percent plastics.
  21. They're OK, just don't expect the world for the price. I've got a reel that I've used for a while with no issues, but I don't use it all day every day.
  22. The last two tourneys I have fished have been won by two guys who fish out of a plastic pontoon that they carry in the back of their pickup. They guys with the Rangers and the Stratus owner doesn't think it's funny. But I do!
