  1. Jigs. I say that almost every year.
  2. Used it all last year and never broke off once. Ever. 12lb test.
  3. Got a Bionic Blade that I use for Spinner Baits. I like it a lot.
  4. Congrats! We used similar tactics yesterday to get one ourselves!!!
  5. Biggest bass
  6. I used the Quantum Response quite a bit this weekend and came away very impressed. I paired it up with a Quantum reel and flourocarbon line. Sensitivity wise, I like it better than my Lamiglass Excell (It's been moved to spinnerbait duty). The MH has lots of backbone. For the price I would buy more, no question.
  7. I say that every year about jigs and every year they just sat in the bottom of my tackle. I finally tossed the last of them yesterday. But fear not, there's more in the boat! I've used the chatterbait some, but just haven't caught anything on it.
  8. Jigs. Zero luck. Chatterbaits, too.
  9. Just picked one up tonight. 7' MH/F. I'll post up after I've wrung it out this weekend.
  10. Breathables, definately.
  11. If fishing (or any hobby for that matter), gets to be like a job...Quit.
  12. Yes. I have used them and had a few hits and one very nice one. I've got gigantor Gammy hooks and have yet to firmly stick a fish.
  13. Frogs and money hounds. I got a lot of hits on money hounds the one time I've used them, but haven't hooked up good yet but I see the potential for sure.
  14. 5'6" MH pistol grip for pitching spinnerbaits.
  15. Got my 1/0 EWGs yesterday, too.
  16. I've had one in thirty years that broke off right at the handle. Thanks to a deep diving crankbait, the reel and the rest of the rod was recovered from 8 feet of water. Fortunately, that's been it. I think most of the breakage issues are caused by improper usage (high sticking) or negligence. As has been pointed out the thinner the wall (lighter) the more vulnerable. Every time you bounce a bullet weight off that blank you are taking a risk on fatally weakening it.
  17. Nope. But, I signed up March 13th.
  18. Lots of good advice here. I would add that you need to make sure that what you are doing is complimentary, but different from the angler in front unless he's just killing them. I often outfish the boat driver 2-3 to one just by doing different things. If he's shallow cranking, I'm pitching spinnerbaits at stumps and laydowns. Accuracy is key. Be able to pitch baits forehand, backhand, underhand and overhand. Even if they're flipping or pitching jigs you can get angles they can't and get bit. Dropshotting can be difficult unless they are TX rigging or C Rig. Persevere!!!

99% of the time, chuck and wind with an occasional twitch to speed it up. Especially if it bumps something or goes right past an object that could be holding a fish.
  20. Welcome aboard!
  21. Shimano Bantam B100(?), as well
