  1. I fish for my wallet when I go to Lowes every other day buying crap for my bathroom remodeling project. Thanks Honey!
  2. Garmin Nuvi and never looked back!
  3. Usually two on. Spool pretty loose and no more than 2-3 on the external. Sometimes all the way off. Depends on the wind.
  4. I caught my biggest one on August the 3rd at 1.30 in the afternoon on a spinnerbait in 4-5 feet of water.
  5. I used it a couple of weeks ago to throw squarebills and I didn't have any issues. Only caught one on squarebills (and a crappie), but that wasn't the bite. The bite was on 5xd and 6xds. No problem with those either.
  6. South of Terre Haute.
  7. I switch. I've used LH and I have no problems, but I don't like it.
  8. A buddy of mine caught a bass on a creature bait liberally dosed with suntan lotion. Don't worry too much about it. Just let them air out.
  9. Yea. I've got a 55 that has the same type of problem. There's a couple of "gears" that aren't there. It's the speed controller. Just haven't bothered to change it.
  10. Front drag, vs rear drag. It's easier to reach the rear drag to adjust on the fly. A little more complexity and a few more moving parts for the rear drag. It's harder to find rear drags any more.
  11. Me too!
  12. My daughter got spanked. I'll bet in the entire time she was growing up, she got it maybe 5 times. Mostly before she started school. Later, I only had to ask her if she wanted to get her azz paddled to produce the desired effect.
  13. Shortest is 5'6" and the longest is 7'6". The remainder are split 50/50 6'6" and 7'. The 5'6" is used to pitch spinnerbaits in the spring. I can get into places with it that nobody else can go.
  14. Don't know why. Just know it works!!! Most of the stuff in my box has at least a little on it.
  15. Yes. I use them almost all summer.

Ours is not to wonder why...LOL
  17. I personally have not. Just a Vengeance spinning rod which I like fine. Don't be afraid to look at the Powell Diesel in that general price range as well.
  18. I've got a Zebco UL spincast that I inherited from my grandpa that's every bit of 30 years old and still going strong. The kids use it every year. You don't candy cane it, just like any rod. Don't try to swing bass into the boat with it. I would say that you can find a decent rod for that price. Depends on what kind of reel you want, but you are probably looking at another 20-30 bucks (ish). You need a decent smooth drag, IMO.

Sounds VERY familiar. Got tired of watching her die a little bit every time we had to go out the door but you Army guys have it way worse than we ever did. They need 11 bang bangs? Who'd a thunk it! LOL...
  20. The Lamiglass is a very good rod for the money. I have the XL704C. Recommended uses are spinnerbaits, light jigs and light Texas-rigs. I have used up to 1/2 oz spinnerbaits and 3/8 oz tx rigged worms up to 10". It has plenty of backbone for a medium and has more backbone than some MH. Sensitivity is very good. I have caught a ton of fish on it and it still looks new. I can highly recommend it.

Thank you for your service. That kind of situation made up my mind for me after 20, as well.
  22. Sorry, that's a bit farther away than our Raccoon. Can't really help you since I've never fished that one!
  23. Raccoon state park where?
