  1. Did you weigh those fish? they are nice ones no doubt about it, but i dont know if they are 4 pounds maybe just a bad picture either way nice catch! Maybe tomorrow evening? I am going to a private pond in Amelia tomorrow morning and fishing for a few hours. I had fun at the private pond this morning, it didn't produce like usual but caught 2 good, around 4lb bass, 5 other 1-2 pounders, about 6 nice crappie, and 2 bluegill. The owner didn't know how the bluegill got in his pond, haha. Here are 2 pictures of the biggest bass, its all i took.

  14. Told you about the top water at pochohontas! and dont set the hook so fast on frogs. wait till you feel the weight of the fish to set the hook.
  15. The dam would be to your right from the boat landing. My favorite topwater out there is deffinatelly the rage toad but any weedless frog that you can throw deeper into the holes in the lilly pads will work fine. the shakey head is a very effective technique. heres an article on it. the website this article is on is also a fishing forum just for the state of virginia. http://www.fishingva.com/tactics/bass/shakyhead.html
  16. Sam, what are the ponds along route 58 west of ashland? Intersted in those! Have you had luck on them before? details maybe?
  17. i also live in midlothain. ponds around here are somewhat scarce. the best ponds i know about are the ponds in insbrook lake rooty.
  18. my dad and i fish pochohantas all the time! summer mornings there the top water action can be insane! we went out last week and did okay shakey head and crankbait. fish the deeper sections near the dam. there are some hawgs in pochohantas my dad broke off a deff 7 plus before and weve caught multiple in the 3 pound class. its a decet fishery that doesnt get much pressure! give it another shot and have fun!
  19. Does anyone have much expierence with these rods. I am thinking about purchasing a few and would like to hear what you guys think.
  20. I think its alot of prefrence but if your going with braid you should go with a flouro leader. Most people who throw swim baits opt. for flouro,
  21. It is a pond back in a devolpment that some old lady spends her whole day watching and calling the cops which is totally lame. But it is seriously no more than 300 yards from my house so after numerous emails to a realtor I have permision to fish on one lot that is located in the worst part of the pond.I wish this pond was public and I could even fish the deeper end of it which i know holds some even nicer ones.
  22. and another
  23. After only about 15 small ones this one was alot of fun! Dont know weight but it was a hawg.
