    NICE! I like these alot!
  4. I's it really worth the extra money over a curado? Im thinking about taking a plunge on one.
  5. I think the rod is fine, but i dont like the line choices. I'd throw 30 pound braid with 15 pound flouro as a leader you will have much better feel of the bottom and greater ability to detect a bite.
  6. I fish 30 pound braid on my jig rod with no problems what so ever! I have even spooled 50 pound once but overall i like the 30 pound braid better. I have never had problems with it. IMO 30 pound is fine and even better! 8-)
  7. I'm still catching fish with my jig. Lately I have been trolling as slow as possible and finding any piece of structure visible on my depth finder to throw my jig to. If it doesn't get hit than i will throw the drop shot in the area one time to check that spot again. Another productive pattern is finding deep drop offs the best ones have vegatiation or cover on the sides! and cranking with either my norman dd or the strike king 6XD. Have fun and dont be scared to stray away from the bank! After 9 o'clock in the summer you wont find a good angler flipping shallow cover!
  8. They sell some quality stuff i know alot of saltwater guys swear by their stuff.
  9. I'm reaching for my jerkbaits and lipless crankbaits already!
  10. The economy Hasn't really effected me but its effected my family pretty hard. My dad had to move away for a job so I never get to see him anymore. Which kinda hurts, But hes doing what hes got to do to provide for his family and I respect that more than anything. My fishing purchases have probably tripled though! I work at a tackle shop and believe me it has its perks! Those 300 dollars rods you said you would never have drop to 175.
  11. Welcome to the most awesome site in cyber space! 8-)
  12. Have you ever caught a fish under 3 pounds geeze! Nice Hawg!
  13. That's Awesome! Nice fish!
  14. I use the uni to uni knot for braid to flouro leaders. It has worked fine for me!
  15. Also try a buzzbait, popper or a prop bait, if the bass are busting on top.
  16. Wont be the last fish story you'll be told. Working at a tackle shop now makes me almost only believe the story when they have the citation to back it up.
  17. Another good squirrel one.
  18. I think the guy can fish don't get me wrong but he is going through some what of a hot streak right now. Let's see if it will hold up. ;D
  19. The bluegill might be making bed's but i doubt the largemouth are breading this late in the summer. Sometimes in the heat of the day it is nearly impossible to get a bite going from shore. If you must fish from shore during the heat try a Carolina Rig you might get lucky and find some deeper water or even just drag it by some deep structure triggering a strike. Make an outing in the evening once the sun lay's Down a little bit, Or if you have the will power wake up early. The bass move into the shallow parts of water during those times and often times can be much easier to catch if you are shore bound.
  20. Welcome Stay a While everyone can learn a little something here! 8-)
