  1. As far as I know, Jaskoh and myself will be renting a boat. So count me in. CJ shot me a PM. He won't be making the trip. We should have a B.Resource members tourney on Kentucky Lake sometime. Early November?
  2. I was just going to post a similar thread. I have tried the Nicorette gum, and the patch. I'm going to make a conscious effort this time around and give the patch another try. Let me know how that Chantix works out for you. Is it a pill, a gum or a patch?
  3. If I could financially do it, I would. If you are looking for somewhere to store one of those boats, I happen to have open space in my garage, just make sure you keep the key in the ignition. ;D
  4. That's a good looking 1/4 pipe. My dad and I built tons of those and a few mini ramps in the backyard growing up. I bet he really appreciates the handy work you did on that ramp. We now have 2 skateparks in the town I live in. It's a great sport, I did it for over 12 years.
  5. This site is now warp speed! Awesome job Glenn.
  6. Ol' Monsters are a mainstay in my tacklebag. They work great T-rigged, And are a big fish bait as well.
  7. I work in sales at an Electronic Claims Clearinghouse. I sit in a cubicle all day. Think Office Space the movie.
  8. Staying at home with the the little one's was a blast. My daughter was 8 months old when the company I worked for closed. We decided it was better costwise for me to stay home for a for a little. That little while ended becoming a year.It was some good times. My daughter likes fishing shows now, and jumps at the chance to go to Bass Pro. I am now the one working and my wife stays home. It was certainly a learning experience, and it was some of the best times I have had. Enjoy the time you have at home.
  9. I can't believe I missed this one. I won't be missing the next one, that's for sure. Where and when is it? Wash Co.?
  10. Hyundia's have been good to me. Very reliable, and cheap. the only downside is resale. If you plan on driving it until the doors fall off, it's a good choice. Honda's make good cars as well, more to purchase, but then again, your resale is higher too. I have not very much about the new Kia's. Buyin used is always an option. I purchased mine as a program car, it had 12,000 miles on it. As far as insurance costs go, with you being under the age of 25, your insurance is going to be a little more . Stick with the 4 door non-sporty cars or 2WD trucks, that'll save you a few bucks. This is my second Hyundai in 10 years, my last one had 86,000 miles, with no problems. some of the new Toyota's are pretty reasonably priced as well. Check out carfax.com too. A year ago we decided on buying a used mini van. After reading some of the owner response on certain makes and models, we made our purchase, one year later, no problems ( knock on wood).
  11. Shaw's book is a good read. Ike's book has some useful information. I would like to get my hands on sowbelly . doesn't KVD have a book coming out? Or is it already out?
  12. Just tell your "Friends" that you are allergic to alcohol. I had a friend in college that didn't drink. He was a popular guy with us ( Designated Driver). When I was in school, this was 13 years ago mind you. One of my classmates was a straight A student going into his Junior year, his goal was to go to an Ivy League school. His " Friends" decided to get loaded before school, he joined the party too. All 3 of them got loaded and tried to attend class. all 3 of them got busted, not only by school officials, the police got involved as well. That guy never made it to an Ivy League school. Being a Designated Driver has perks too. Think of all the lovely ladies attending the party who will need a ride home because the person who drove them is either passed out or puking in the bushes. Drunken Dummy = 0 You = Pimp Daddy
  13. the guy you are referring to is Brian Posehn. The video is called metel by numbers. He's a funny guy, he's making a statement about the sorry state of metal these days.
  14. I belong to a club in the belleville area. It's 30 bucks a year for membership. 30 bucks for each tournament, and that includes big bass. It's draw format,so if you are a non-boater like myself, you get paired with a boater. We meet on the 2nd monday of each month @ st.clair bowl @ 7pm. They have a good tourny schedule with mostly one day tournaments.Kincaid,Carlyle,Forbes,Crab Orchard,Golconda,KY Lake. The group is called Tri-County Bass Anglers. Hope this helps.
  15. Nice boat,What part of Illinois are you from?
  16. Where is this place? a frog is a good choice either a Spro or a horny toad, whatever ya got. I fished a similar cover this past week, not as thick, but it should do the trick. I pegged a tube and popped it around the holes, then used a bigger weight 1/2 oz pegged with the same tube and popped mats with it. Use a stout rod with some well rope. Good luck.
  17. I have been doing a little thing I call the "Pitch N' Skip" using my baitcaster. It works well for what I do. But then again,if I ain't pitchin', I'm not fishin.
  18. I have 5 BPS hats,I never fish without one.Also,after every fish I catch, it is mandatory that I light up a smoke.Part celebration/superstition.
  19. Topwater right at sunrise...And then that first blow up.Being the only boat on the lake and hooking a good fish.
  20. a buddy of mine has had a 175 Fast strike for many years.the only thing he has replaced is the powerhead.
  21. 400 bucks sounds about right. After you buy a trolling motor,a battery, license it and the trailer, life vests, oars just in case,400 turns into 800 bucks. It looks like it would be a neat little pond boat,I personally would look for a 14 jon or semi-V.
  22. I'm not exactly Bob Vila or Norm Abrams. What is a hot saw? Or what does that mean? The sound dampening is a good idea.Free is a price everyone can afford.
  23. Shoes made in America at a reasonable price. Vans shoes.Since 1966.
  24. I own an american and an import...The import has never left me stranded. It doesn't matter what you drive.Remember this...The Nike's that you are probably wearing are made in Korea.
