  1. I shot one of those today. It was the first time I have ever shot an AR so I don't have anything to compare it too, but the guy that owns it said it was a good gun and he didn't have any problems out of it.

Put it on a shaky head jig. That works too!
  3. I've bought 200 rounds of PMC 115 gr FMJ and 50 rounds of American Eagle 115 gr FMJ and 50 rounds 147 gr FMJ 9mm over the past week. All bought locally and not online. Ready for for the range next week!

I had an LCP and didn't like it. The thing kicked pretty bad and the trigger pull was just insane so I traded up to the SR9c. I'd still like a little .380 and the Bersa would fit my budget and would make a nice pocket pistol.
  5. He's filming the recording with his cell phone so he's using the zoom feature on the phone to get a close up image of what is being displayed on his tv or computer monitor.

How do you like the Bersa? It's on my list but not in any hurry to buy anything at the moment.
  7. So far its been a great gun but it didn't like the BVAC reloads I was shooting in it. About every 3-4 rounds got hung up on extraction. I just need some more practice time. My uncle has a relatively light used Ruger GP 100 .357 Magnum. Been thinking about making an offer on that gun. Its stainless and I bet is a beast to shoot..lol.
  8. They told us that our Walmart gets a truck every day. I was in there yesterday about 3 and asked if they had any 9mm and there were about 4 boxes they hadn't even gone through yet. He flipped through them but no luck. Dick's truck runs Thursday night and they put there ammo out Friday morning. Truck day at Gander is a circus. You have to get there an hour before they open to stand in line, get a number, then come back at 12 when they start calling numbers out. If you are lucky they still have what you need, if not your day is shot. I did it one time and there were about 150 people standing back there. They ran out of 9 before they got to me, I was the first name on the second page. I was upset but its just the nature of the game I guess. I won't devote time to that again but may try to get to Dick's one Friday morning. They're cheaper there anyway.
  9. Once I get comfortable with it, my Ruger SR9c will be my boat gun. So far I have enjoyed shooting it but practice time is limited to lack of ammo.
  10. Ammo shelves are starting to not be so bare around here. I started noticing about a week ago that some things were a little easier to find than before. You still have to get lucky to get any 9mm or 22 but I suppose with time that will get better. I have 1500 rounds of 22 lr so I don't need any of that but I bought a Ruger .380 LCP and didn't like it so traded up to a SR9c and would like to put something besides junk ammo through it. I guess for practicing its okay though.
  11. Yeah, Pickwick is full of gar. Sometimes they'll swim right up next to the boat. We don't them, but they're fun to watch.
  12. Saw several boats fishing about 20-30 yards off the bluff across from McFarland down toward Sheffield this afternoon. There was also several in the barge canal.
  13. Got this healthy one this morning swimming around Spring Creek. To bad my Alabama Rig is in the mouth of a stripe somewhere down there...lol.
  14. My new Lowe didn't come with a spare. Like you I thought it would be standard with a new boat, but it wasn't
  15. Best places are under the trestle or at the old mill.
  16. Call the dealer up and describe to them the situation and see what they say. If there is a problem I'm sure they'd try to make it right. Especially if you just bought the boat.
  17. Buying new or used? Sometimes you can get a good deal on a used boat but other times you are buying someone else's problems. Take it to a trusted boat mechanic and have it checked out and then ask to take it for a test run. If its fairly new used boat it may still have some warranty left on the motor. I bought the top of the line Mercury protection plan that last 7 years and is transferable to the next owner if I ever sell. However, you know what they say boat stands for. Bust Out Another Thousand. Enjoy your new purchase whatever it is.
  18. They're not schooling a whole lot right now. You still should have caught one or two though. How far did you go up in there? What were you using for bait? Guess you just don't know the spots. There's two even better spots that you can't get to by boat. Gotta walk in there to them. And yes to answer the other question I was using the Alabama Rim, Yums version of it.
  19. Who needs a bass when you can catch one of these bad boys. I love spring creek this time of year!
  20. Try Spring Creek. Just look for the schooling bait fish. You'll see them by the thousands and you never know whats chasing them. Fish around blow downs in the creek and cast some of the weeds along the bank. Take it easy in the creek if you're not familiar with the channel. Its plenty deep enough for a big bass boat to go at least past the third pipe.
  21. Thanks everyone! Kinda surprised when we caught it.
  22. Caught this morning in Spring Creek that feeds into the Tennessee River. I've been trying to match it to pictures online but can't really find a good match. Anybody wanna take a guess?
  23. I'm learning how to throw one and it can be frustrating at times but I am throwing in the yard until I get it down to where I am comfortable enough to use it in the boat. I have a small sinker on it and my cats love chasing when i reel back in. lol
  24. 107 today and 107 yesterday. Think I will wait until it "cools" off a bit before I go back.
  25. You could fish the creeks in Kayaks without any trouble.
