When A Fish Misses A Shaky Head...
I had them last week grabbing the tail of the worm and hold on for dear life until I got it up to the water surface and they'd let go. I honestly think they were messing with me...haha.

Best Shakey Head Worm?
I like to use a zoom trick worm.

Shakee Head Jigs
I started using shaky head jigs this year with a zoom trick worm. I throw it up around the bank and near down trees or or visible structure. Just throw it out, give it time to sink, and start hopping it along the bottom. You will miss a few fish and you will land some. Don't get over confident and don't get frustrated. Its all about learning. Sometimes you set a hook on a stump, yep did it, and sometimes you'll get a good fish too!

Lure For Shore Fishing Help
I'd try a shaky head jig and a Zoom trick worm. It takes a little getting use to but its an easy tactic to learn and it does seem to catch fish when others won't.

Striper Slayfest...pickwick
Nice catch you have there. We like to fish for them when they move up into Spring Creek later in the Summer.

Pickwick Reports
Last week we had luck on plastic lizards along the bank and shaky head with a zoom trick worm on it. Yesterday snagged one with a fluke around a tree top that was in the water.

Lowe Stryker 17
I have been looking at buying a new aluminum boat and the Stryker 17 has caught my eye. Anyone have one of these boats or fished from one of them? Its max rate for a 60 hp motor and that is what I intend on putting on it. http://www.loweboats.com/multi-species-boats/stryker-17/

Anyone Doing Good On Pickwick
We caught a few stripe (yellow and white) yesterday and 2 crappie. Fished mostly in the mouth of Spring Creek and in Cypress. We saw several smaller bass swimming the bank but they didnt look like they were much into eating what we were throwing. There was a few bass chasing baitfish in Spring Creek but again got no interest. I'd be a lot happier if the water came up some.

Quick Pickwick Info
We caught a bunch of little bass in shallow water around weeds. We did manage a couple 2-3 pounders but nothing exceptionally big.

Heading To Florence, Al
There has been a lot boats down below the dam even with the heavy current flowing but I don't know if they are catching anything. If there are a bunch of boats down there I figure they must be biting. The water level now is down to about where you would expect it to be this time of year but may elevate a bit with this latest bout of rain. They still had the current going when I came across the dam Thursday but the spillways are off and have been for a while now. I haven't had my boat in the water in three weeks. Hope to change that this week with the cooler/calmer weather they are predicting.

Storm Damage
It's real bad in so many place. In my area Phil Campbell and Hackleburg up to Mount Hope, Moulton, the outskirts of Decatur to up north of Huntsville. The horror stories coming out of Phil Campbell and Hackleburg are so heartbreaking. Families being killed, children plucked from their parents arms, and it goes on. If you can donate anything please do. I've already sent six cases of water down to Hackleburg and plan on going down and trying to help in the clean up effort when they allow the volunteers to come into the area. They did find some survivors today! They were clearing out a ravine and heard cries for help. So, there is still hope!

Few Questions On Elite Marshall Program
How do you become a marshall? I was wondering this yesterday at the Alabama Charge.

Another Spinning Reel Recommendation Thread
http://www.***.com/Shimano_Sedona_FD_Spinning_Reel/descpage-SSEFD.html I've been using the Shimano Sedona and really like it.

Your first fishing boat
My first and only boat is a 1994 MonArk Aluminum Bass Boat. I think its 16 1/2 foot. Has a 40 HP Force Motor on it. We are the third owner. Purchased it in 2003 or 2004 I think. We're looking to upgrade one day to maybe a Bass Tracker.

White Bass fishing.
We were catching them in a creek channel last Thursday on storm wild eye swim shad. I don't think there is a fish in this area that won't hit that bait.
-
I blame you guys for this.....
I like pulling them on top of the water in a zigzag motion. Bass like 'em. I bought some of the strike king shads and used them a bit this week but didn't catch anything. I think they have real potential.

White Bass fishing.
I like to use grubs. Pearl or Chartreuse seem to work well for us. I've also found that some of the smaller crappie baits work well too, like the panfish assassin 1.5 inch black shads. Any of the colors will probably do the trick though.
-
How will gas prices effect your fishing.....
Shouldn't effect me at all. Our boat only has a 40 hp motor on it and its easy on the gas. We usually get 2-3 sometimes 4 trips out of a tank. I only live about 4 miles from the boat ramp so I don't use much more gas than I usually do.

What color YUM F2 Dinger should I buy?
Thanks for the suggestions. As always, I'm taking notes. When fishing wacky style, you rig the hug in the middle of the worm but do you let it float all the way to the bottom and then bring it back to the surface and repeat until it gets to the boat?

Favorite bass show?
City Limits, The Bass Pros, Bill Dance. Does Shaw Grigsby still have a show? I haven't seen it on this year. I enjoyed watching it.

What color YUM F2 Dinger should I buy?
I am cruising the Bass Pro website and come across the YUM Y2 Dingers. I've never used them before but I guess this year is just a good as time as any to begin. My question is what color do you recommend? There are a bunch to chose from. I will probably try to rig them wacky style I guess.

Pickwick Rising
The river has crested and is beginning to fall. It should go below flood stage Monday. I hope to get out on water maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.

Storm Wild Eye Swim Shad
I have 12 of them in the tackle box and picked up another pack today. We have had a lot of success with these baits. We use the 3 inch 1/4 oz. We caught a lot of largemouth on them last year and a bunch of smallmouth too. We use them just about anywhere. Around weeds, rocks, throw it up on the edge of the bank. Striper like them too.

Pickwick Rising
McFarland Park in Florence has been closed. Water is spilling out of the harbor into the parking lots. The soccer fields and old gold course also has water standing in them. The river is at level with the bank outside harbor down toward the campground areas. I imagine the park will likely be closed through at least Saturday maybe even into Sunday. There is another chance of rain Monday, but it shouldn't be enough to aggravate the flooding issues.
