Creek fishing
I have recently started fishing at my local creek/stream by my house, I have been using rooster tails and kastmasters (1/8 and 1/12) with allot of success, I have been mainly catching bluegill and suckers. I was curious of any other small UL lures I could use. Oh and also they like trout magnets so I bought the 10 dollar kit.

1pc VS. 2pc.
looking at some of the higher end rods today these rods are all 1 pc. And most lower end ones are 2 pc. I am guessing that this is because of sensitivity or something else. What do you think? is a 2pc. a deal breaker?

Backlash tips???
Thanks for the tips lilfish, I think that I was doing 2 tings wrong, not casting right (overhand) and not keeping my thumb on the reel at all times, I believe I was getting way with not two many backlashes because my dads baitcasters are more high quality, so i think mine takes more practice and patience, I will try casting tomorrow and tell you how it worked out.

Backlash tips???
Well I just got my first baitcaster and Have given myself allot of backlashes, And on the most recent I wound up getting a bad knot and have to respool, So how can i prevent it? BTW I am using my spool tension knob and brakes, And am also stopping it before it hits the ground. What am I doing wrong? any tips appreciated.

New Rod & Reel
Yea, I cast a little bit last night, and plan to try this after noon as well, Thats why I just bought stren 17 mono, It was 6.50$ at dicks, and I got 330 yard, So about 3.26$ per spool up.

New Rod & Reel
It too is a tenacity, It has 8 brake settings, and is a one piece aluminum, with a 165 line capacity. Spur drag too.

Scents on Gary Yamamoto Senkos?
funny you ask, I don't use scents, but just restocked my senkos, Bought a purple flake, watermelon, a bluish flake, and this red color with glitter that I havn't seen before. I use 3-4-5 inch senkos, mainly 4 inch though.

New Rod & Reel
Well I finally got my new baitcaster, It's a quantum Tenacity, Its a 1 peice medium acton rod witha sweet reel, don't know the specs. I got it at Dicks for 50$ And It was A 100$ usually. I strung it up with Stren 17 pound test which I will not do again because It is super thick. But I don't want to waste 20$ on braid to just get a super huge backlash. Learning to use it was okay I just backlashed a little because I I was trying to det the spool release and I was really light so my jig just went down and I was able to get out of the backlash because it wasn't really deep. So how did I do? Is it decent?

Help a noob outfit his tackle box. (one local store to choose from)
If I was in your shoes which I was a year ago (14 year old with little money coming in) I just bought allot of soft plastics like senkos, and zoom twisty tail worms, tubes, and frogs. Why? there cheap. And productive. I like using hard lures, but simple have more succes with soft plastics. Get a couple packs of Gamakatsu EWG off set hooks in 2/0, 3/0, and 4/0. That will set you for a little bit and keep you catching fish. when you get more money you can buy a couple Bomber crankbaits and dome cheaper 3$ jigs and spinners.

First attempt at making some jigs
Nice looking, The only thing I would do different is put a complimenting color on the jig head.
-
Finished more cranks
Great looking lures, I like the top and bottom.
