  2. Then I will try!
  3. Ive never used a fat Ika
  4. Alright guys, I think that a pond boat may not keep me happy in the long term scheme of things, I found this, And It's quite a bargain, Watcha think? Here it is:http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/boa/1665048991.html It's small enough my dad can haul it with his escape, Instead of our beat up pickup. And It's manageable enough to be hauled by me when I drive.
  5. Currently I too fish from the lake, Although I hope to buy a boat soon!. But I hate using old school tackle boxes, I use Plano stowaway trays and load the into a backpack, Carry my rods and stay mobile, Moving from spot to spot trying to get a bite, The trays are for terminal stuff, And 2 more or so for hard lures. Then I keep a fanny pack filled with soft plastics in there original bag. I leave in the inside of the pack on top of my trays. Oh and also I recommend buying a cheap tackle bag so you can get a bunch of trays easily And also keep your tackle together if you use the backpack for other things.
  6. Same here, My dad bought a quantum UL the other day for 20 bucks, And spent 3.50 on some trilene mono 6 pound test and was cathing fish left and right, I am starting to steal it every now and again.
  7. I like P-line flouroclear
  8. Try This, And the price is right. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_16129____SearchResults
  9. The ugly stick has the EVA foam handles, and the quantum has cork. I think quantum is the way to go, but the Diawa Looks nice to...
  10. Spinning, Because there is less drag.
  11. Very cool, Don't know to much about tackle making, But I want to get into it. It's looks top notch! I would buy that!
  12. Oh and they Are both the same price.
  13. A zoom U-Tail. I like junebug with a chartreuse jig head.
  14. Oh, Allot of people seem to think a longer one is better and more stable, I do think you are right though.
  15. Well, My worm/ jig rod would be my spinning setup, So the baitcaster would be my main hard lure rod. Also Yes I am using sensitivity to judge stiffness.
  16. Hey All, I want to get a baitcasting setup because now I only have a spinning outfit. At my Local Dicks Sporting goods they have 2 combos That I like: A quantum Low Pro Baitcasting setup (IDK model) And A Ugly Stick Low Pro Baitcasting setup. The Ugly stick is more sensitive& the Quantum Is a little stiffer. I'm not sure which one is best. The spinning rod I have now has a similar feel (As in sensitivity) to the Quantum
  17. WOW, Thats a sweet little rig! @KU How did you get it out of the bed of the truck and into the water with one person?
  18. HMM, well It seems like you did a nice job on the jon but how long was it? It seems like you need a 12-14+ footer to be stable. So I gues a pontoon boat should work well on most places I fish. The lakes I fish in Are mainly for paddle sprots and the larger one is a 20 HP limit so I gues The mission continues to find a small boat!, Also When you fly solo Do you launch It from the trailer like any other boat? And how did you move it out of your truck alone? And How was the gear storage on it with only one person? Do you just drop it all in or use storage totes? Or something else?
  19. Well guys, The price on the Bass Raider Is going up stedily, 65$ in a day. It is a good deal but it may get to high up for what I'm getting. So I have a few questions: I don't really want to get a V-Hull jon because Of the extra weight and stuff that I would need to do to deck it. So could I get a 12-14 foot and trailer that could be powered with a trolling motor? Because there is one electric only lake near me. And If I added some mid decks and storage would It be to much for a trolling motor? How big of one would I need?
  20. Sweet little boat, Geez, You really loaded the sides with sods, Where do you get those velcro deck straps?
  21. To Those who think I should get a V hull: If a Got a V Hull Then loading into a pickup bed would probably be difficult, and I would need a trailer. Also I would want to put in some mid decks at least just so I could move around comfortably. I plan on getting something like this when I move out, But now I'm pretty strapped for cash and another big projoct is really not what I'm looking for. And also @KU_Bassmaster., I was wondering if you may have had any pics of your "bass Buster" fishing setup, Would really appreciate it, Thanks Guys, Matt
  22. The pelican is about 150 , So it's not too bad. But the thing is I would customize a Jon out more so it would be heavier in the long run
  23. I like the silver one and the teal one.
  24. I know that, My dad has an account and were watching it now.
  25. Okay guys, This is an update: The Thing with the Jons are they are a little to big for me to manage because I am 14 and my dad isn't to into boats. I plan on getting a Jon when I move out but for now I think a plastic boat is all I need. I also can store it in the bed of my dads truck because he mainly uses his company car. My dad and I or just myself would go out in it and there are really only two smaller lakes near me. one being electric only. With those requirements I found a sweet deal on a Pelican Bass Raider 10 foot with a trolling motor (46 pound thrust Minn Kota) It is located in jersey which is close by. The catch? It's on ebay. which means anything can happen and the current price can triple. The boat is 300 dollars as of this writing. Its a 10 foot so It will be large enough Lightweight and STABLE. Besides I still need to register it, Get life preservers, Battery, ETC. Because I have never had a boat before. Below is the link and I want you all to tell me if it's a good deal, Thank you all, Matt http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300411896600&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
