Jigging spoons and drop shot.....Lack of practice, I can dropshot but dont like it. Also chatterbaiting , I refuse to use one of those things.

Anybody have any good night tactics on big lakes? thinking about the time frame between 9-12pm.

The fish in Oconee are eat up with sores too. I know some of it is associated with spawning but I also think bass beat themselves up feeding during the shad spawn.

Supposedly the new bass boats have a hull design similar to a fiberglass bassboat. Have read about you few guys fishing FLW out of them. I will also get a hydralic jackplate .... and wont have to worry bout chipping the hull......bass better enjoy it while they can. ;D

Anyone have any experiecnce with Express bassboats? I am looking at one that comes stock with a 200hp merc....How is the ride? How's it handle in wind and rough water?

I have a Pontoon with Oars and 8.5 ft inflatable pontoons...I enjoy fishing out of it sometimes, if its not to windy and i want to travel light....I use a 13 ft squareback gheenoe on most ponds and small lakes....Then I have a 18ft Polarcraft heavy duty aluminum bass boat for everything else...

The Velvick/ Skeet Reese Westside is funny to me.It reminds me of the way Non-southern nascar drivers whining about the state of racing a few years back :.... Ike on the other hand is a total TOOL in my opinion who is pretty good at fishing and selling himself when he's not destroying products provided for him by sponsors or having an excitement seizure after catching a 15" bass.

This crowd dont talk much, if you know what I mean...... I think they went down lake where the water is cooler and the fish are for the most part on a pre-spawn pattern... Its been hit or miss down there so far.....We went uplake/ river as we will continue to do...

Lucked up, ended up fishing senko knockoffs t-rigged w/ a 3/8 tungsten weight, ever so slowly. Weighed in 15.82, good enough for 5th in a 60+ boat field ;D. Biggest was close to 5lbs and spawned out.

Oh yeah water is stained up the lake..... Have tried Magnum lizards,6" Lizards, mini-lizards, worm-lizards, spider grubs, Trick worms, flukes, finesse worms, senkos, etc..... Down lake last weekend in clearer cooler water, We could only catch them on c-rig trick worms..... Just cant put a pattern together or hook the ones that bite...and my partner is lethal with worm or jig....

Here it is the off-limits day before my first big tournament of the year. Here's the situation, My partner and I are fishing an area that doesnt see much pressure, is rather protected from wind, and the water temps have been in 60's all week, theres plenty of bait. Clean water, textbook layout, holds some pigs. Its perfect really. Only the water has been rising and dropping daily thanks to the power co. Fish seem to be on bed. Only small fish will strike a spinnerbait or crankbait, no reaction or feeding bite whatsoever. C-rigs have been the only way we have been getting bit...and the bites feel as if the fish are moving the bait off the bed and dropping it. Same with a dropshot..... Anybody got any suggestions????? Ideas....

I only flyfished before i got into competitive bass fishing. I like to fish an 8'6" 3 wt or 6' 2wt when i can get away with it. Will use little poppers that I tie up and other little streamers and such.Fish ponds and streams and rivers, since i am so far from trout water :'(. Use a 9ft 5wt or 8wt the rest of the time.....Sneaky petes mostly.....There is a reason flyrods are not allowed in most bass tournaments :-X.... Make it easier on yourself...... Make it a goal to know three types of lures inside out.....That is all you will ever need.....But start out with your favorite technique and learn it inside out before you buy anything else...then after you get good with it, start learning the your next favorite way of fishing... alot of us went from "fishin" to really FISHING over the course of several years, starting out with a spinning rod a bullet weight and a rubber worm and fished it every way we could think of for several years..then rattletraps...then came a baitcaster and a spinnerbait....and so on......

Georgia's Febuary weather really seems to make fishing tough in my neck of the woods. Sunny and warm for 2 or 3 days, then friday it starts raining with a 20 degree temp drop with a 25 mph east wind kicks my butt.....Certain conditions in august also kill me.

I have 2 impoundments I fish on a local river system. They provide a variety of conditions and really demand you to be on your game to go out and hook a few practicing....I fish the closet lake the most, the tournaments I am fishing this year should take me to over a dozen lakes this upcoming year....As far as small water fishing I have 10 ponds i fish depending on my mood.

ESPN has got be able to show better show than the "Fishin Hole" and Charlie Moore.......I can not think of one positive thing to say about Moore's show.....He is the type of person I despise......If Rogue gets a chance to outfish CM, can we add an opp. for forum members to stone and/or flog him severely after he loses? Loudmouth was a good show....other than Jay Kumar.....but best charlie moore has to be the worst fishing show....What did he do to have crediblilty as an angler?

The "whining comment" was meant with sarcasm, Just forgot the smiley ;D If anything we have overcomplicated our fishing trying to make up for enviromental factors.

I agree with RoadWarrior completely...... and add,We are lucky that bass grow, reproduce,and stock well in a relativly sort period of time. We get to experience DNR efforts payoff big time within 3 to 5 years with some projects, some 10, and smaller efforts payoff within months. ... some of you guys think bass are like sturgeon, who live forever and only hardly ever spawn...and smart as wild trout, we wont get into that ......which they are neither.As a lake ages, the fish quality doesnt nessesarily go down,the cover changes and you have to change tactics to stay on the good fish.....You cant base the quality of a large fishery by what you are catching personally. If you want to know the truth talk to the fisheries guys.Plus management of most public waters today have. Bass remember the lure that they were caught on for 5 minutes, Its not fishing pressure that turns off the fish, its all the other things that go with it. Which if a lake is fished enough, those factors like trolling motor noise etc..dont spook the fish anymore.. Locate feeding fish and i can tell you from personal experience unlike other species, Hungry bass only think with their guts......I have caught quality fish in hard fished areas close to the boat with the outboard idling. One 4 lber in recent memory swallowed a rattletrap within 6 ft of the boat, and practically jumped into the boat...He couldnt be saved so i took him home to put in freezer. before i cleaned him I looked at his mouth. he had been caught 4 other times other than when he commited suicide via treble hook......So quit whining and adjust.....

Throw a Pop-R out on lightest line possible....Let it sit for as long as you can stand........then twitch it once....let it sit and so on....Finally one of them will get ticked off and nail it. All else fails try some really small offerings worked on a medium retireve......all you can do after they see you is get an reaction strike.
