  1. Silver and copper Colorado blades, unless I am fishing deeper than 6 ft. If I want to fish deeper I go with a 1/2oz+ with big willowleafs. Springtime stained water,I do use a colorado or white willowleaf with a small orange blade above it.

White w/ yellow eye by Bill Lewis. Hard to find, but work well in certain lakes.
  3. One of the best DOL's I have seen in a while, really opened my mind. I am kinda partial to Rook's advice though, He is good friends with one of my tournament partner's grandfather (even bought the boat he used last year). I started throwing shallow cranks in colder this past december and january instead of deep cranking all day. I caught fish where I had never gotten bit before on other lures that time of year.

Widespread Panic, Phish, Grateful Dead, Galactic, String Cheese Incident, Old and In the Way, Leftover Salmon, Steve Earle, Merle Haggard, Wille Nelson, Charlie Robinson, Robert Earle Keen, Talking Heads, John Scoefield,Miles Davis, Coltrane, Pantera,Metallica(old stuff only),Danzig, White Zombie.....just to name a few of the artists in my cd collection. The old Panic albums really get me into zone. Tournament mornings I have to have "Ride the Lightning" cranked at 4am.....
  5. Buddy in back of the boat accidently snagged the biggest rattlesnake we had ever seen swimming across the large pond we were fishing 17 rattles and I have pics of the spook stuck in him. Fought it to the bank and shot it...His dad cooked it. Several large turtles, All snappers except a monster box turtle 5lb Bowfin killed a spinnerbait last year. first cast one morning with a deep little N, 5 lb carp foul hooked. Tournment last yr, throwing a C-rig Lizard around deep seawalls for bedding fish, Hooked a 15lb channel cat, fought it forever while my partner was freaking out thinking it was the lake record ;D Needless to say it was a let down > Flyfishing small stream in north Ga for trout. Though I had a nice wild brookie, Nope 6inch crawfish had clamped down on my streamer. Several Large catfish on flyrods. Saltwater- 4+ foot wide stingray Huge rock on a strong outgoing tide fishing a bridge at night....Not funny. Pelican
  6. Many,Many Varibles.....Depends on where i am fishing, who i am fishing with, whether I am in my boat, whether I am in friends' boat, if we left the lakehouse or put in at the ramp, Time of year......most of all if the fish are biting or not and the view of bikinis.... Always have to have bottled water, mountain dew, smoke, sunflower seeds. Starting to really miss the Copenhagen I quit last year. Dont eat much unless its a rough day.
  7. I like the show, its one of the better ones on O.C. Clausen put a killing on everybody he faced, really fun to watch. The Swindle/Clausen show was great. Seeing Clausen whoop up on him and the tantrum that insued was hilarious. I liked Swindle until the "Hype" went to his head. The more air time he gets now the more annoying he gets.
  8. Bite me Heads are the best I have used, . Spotsticker makes some good ones too. Use them anywhere according to what lb test line you are fishing them with. Caught fish on 1/8 and 1/4 in open water and brush. I really like them around rock and wood when the fish will not bite anything else. Good around docks too.
  9. Walmart is in fact cutting back on sponsorship money and what it sponsors now. They are not cutting back on what they sell in stores, if anything they are increasing quality of what fishing stuff they carry. With that fact in mind, I really doubt #3. I just dont see it working.
  10. The Flat maxx deep divers are great IMHO. Other than the hooks. dont fish them around rocks. I use them alot around wood. Catch lots of fish and rarely hang up. You do have to use a 6:1 reel though. For some reason the Flat maxx fish alot better on a faster reel. I use the shallow runners and the regular bandits some too. They catch fish, decent cranks for the money though.
  11. I use 1/4 oz. for everything that i use a shakeyhead or spotremover for which are two different types of presentations. I use them both when I would otherwise use a 1/4 oz jig. This wont work for everyone, I use it as a light to heavy cover finesse presentation and it pays off. Most people dont fish it this way and some on this forum say it wont work and that i am full of it. : Its ok I catch fish that they will never get to bite.
  12. Swindle was stupid and is getting annoying. Yet this kind of stuff happens way too much.My home lake is getting worse everyday. There are people that will do that kind of stuff if you get somewhere before they do. If they have a better boat. etc. And if you say something or give them a look it could really get ugly. More people, spending more $, superiority complexes,Feeling of entitlement. The way this is wadding some yall's panties, may as well quit fishing or find private water. Cause its gonna happen to you more and more. And I can assure you the guy that does it to you probably shouldnt even own a boat much less be a pro angler. That is all.
  13. I use gama for everything. Really like the EWG on my shallow runners.
  14. Starting out make sure you get some 3/4 oz. Tungsten bullet or carolina weights. The increased sensitivity is well worth the extra $. Baby brush hogs, trick and finesse worms, zoom craw and 3" senkos are my best c-rig baits.
  15. Man frogs are JUNK....Fished one last year. Doesnt cast well. Not very durable. Doesnt fish well. Legs are too short. Hooks are too small. No comparison to the spro frog.
  16. Baitfish make noise....BioSonix plays it back when used.... Now the volume of the lure may make a difference in different conditions. Current makes noise. Fish hear or feel alot of stuff.....Although I have had days where a more quiet crank such as a DT will get more bites than a louder bait of the same size. Most jig rattle will fall of anyway. Dont think it makes a difference. I get more jig bites with rattles.
  17. Cold Steel Walking stick Yum Dingers Edge Speed Fall BPS stik-o The Zoom Z-nail just doesnt look like a senko to me.
  18. A Ga company called OL Nelle Lures makes them, too.Google them for a website. They are called "broke-back" buzzbaits. They are only buzzbaits I use. Not only are they hard to throw, but they run straight too.
  19. Reese was dropped by Terminator this past week.He was the only pro let go. Wonder if this has anything to do with a Lucky Craft/Rapala conflict?
  20. Catch all the crappie and bream out that you can when you can. Put all the bass you can catch elsewhere that are over a lb or 2 and leave the bass alone a while. Some catfish will help too. Experiment and be patient. I have a retired cousin did this with a small pond he owns. In the last 5 years he has caught several 10's, a 12, and a 14lber out of this 2 or 3 acre pond. I didnt believe it until he let me fish it someI caught 2 fish over 8 lbs and several 5's in the same week on a buzzbait.
  21. Russ Lane, Mike McClelland, or Swindle maybe even Faircloth..Would love to see Steve Kennedy win one, He grew up in this area before moving to Auburn...Will take between 35-38 lbs... With this weather we have had in the south, the fish are off big time. LMB will be scarce that week and spots and smallies just dont get big enough.
  22. You can fish a senko anyway you want to. I had several top 5's last year dragging a T-rigged senko w/ 3/8 oz. bullet weight. The fish were locked on beds and stumps and had lockjaw. Sometimes the fish like a real subtle look. Caught my two PB spotted bass on a c-rig senko last year too.
  23. Ol Nelle "Broke-back buzzbait" or Terminater with leverage hook. I like them because they run straight and are harder for the fish to throw.
  24. Degreaser makes sense, dont know why i hadnt thought of that....Not a stain, just a slime and smell at back of boat.
  25. Junebug Green Pumpkin Watermelon/red black
