Best Senko knockoffs

Featured Replies

im still in college and senkos are pretty pricey making it pretty hard for me to stay stocked up year round. I  tried substituting the senko for a stik-o but i find i dont get that same downward action for the stik-o. Anybody have good recommendations for a good knockoff?

I've read reports over the years that say good things about a lot of the other brands. I personally have used (in addition to Senkos) Zoom Z-Nails and Yum Dingers and am very pleased with both.

Cold Steel Walking stick

Yum Dingers

Edge Speed Fall

BPS stik-o

The Zoom Z-nail just doesnt look like a senko to me.

When the bite is tough, there is nothing better than a senko. When the fish are actively feeding, I like the knock-offs. My favorite is the Tik-Stick.

Wave Worms Tiki Stiks

I'll second that pick!!!  I'm not a big fan of the Yum Dingers haven't had much luck on them.

So Far Ive used Barlows Salty Rat Tails, Wave Tiki'sand BPS Stix all worked great Next Im gonna try *** in March

Zoom Z-nails are great, Case Majic Sticks, Wave Tiki Stix's, Yum Dingers.

When a big bite is on, anything will work. The rest of the time, NOTHING compares to a Senko.

This bait might be the #1 bass catching bait of all-time. Knock-offs are just that, something less.

Always have great success with the Yum Dinger.

The most popular knockoff is probably the "trick stick".  It is a mass produced generic bait sold by dozens of different bait companies, stores, etc. as their own Senko knockoff.  The colors are usually the same from seller to seller.

Do some Googling and you should find many of them.

There was a time where i just got started into bass fishing, and used nothing but senkos, and man was i happy. I caught 4-8 bass everyday i went fishing.  I used tiki sticks and yum dingers. On some days, it was the tiki's that worked. On others, the yum dingers. I think that it all depends on the situation. But sometimes when theres pond scum(as i call it), run it across the top wether it be tiki sticks or yum dingers, its the best to see the bass explode on top.

I like Wave worms, they work for me.

When I first started fishing Senkos, all I was aware of were the Yum Dingers. I had never bought a Yamamoto bait and didn't know anything about the Yamamoto brand or the reputation that they had built up.

I caught lots of fish on the Yum knock-offs - they work. Granted not as well as the Yamamotos, but they will still catch lots of fish for the money.

I personally couldn't come up with results to prove this, some say they have but I , personally, couldn't. They are softer, very true. As for catch rates, ours didn't change when we stopped paying $7 for 10.

as far as I am concerned, it's a personal preference. It all depends on how much you like your money, lol.

The 2 positives I have found with the yamamoto company are:

The fat ika

Yamamoto gives ALOT to kids groups, including CAST for kids foundation.

Thanks GYCB

Have tried alot of Knock off and they were the waist of $$.

Its a real senko or nothing

I was in college once too my young friend and I know how hard it can be to come up with enough green backs to do much of anything!

I have fished with LBH several times and he outfishes me using ***.  For the money, they can't be beat!  Great alternative to GYCB.

I've tried several of the non-Yamamoto stick baits.  The BPS Stik-O is a good one.  I don't consider the Kinami Flash to be a 'knock-off' as it is made by Yamamoto.

The one bait that I have been really disappointed with are the Case Magic Sticks.

I like the Bass Pro Stik-O's, Zoom Z-nail, and the Wave Tiki Stiks.

I carry a few Dingers, for the times when the bite is on. But when the bite is tough, there is no replacement for the original. I tried the Tiki and the *** versions. No success with them, gave "em away. Yum Dingers are, in my experience the best Senko knock-off.

Asking what is the best senko knock-off is like asking who is the best second string quarterback.

I have tried them all.........GYCB, Tiki sticks, BPS stick-o's, gulp sinking minnows, Yum dingers, and on and on............For the $ the yum dinger is the best IMHO period. Tough bite or not. I have never had a day where I couldn't get bit with the dinger, then put a senko on and the fish magicly jumped in the boat. I don't even buy senkos anymore, unless I am out of dingers. I do think the senko is better than the rest I mentioned, I just find the dinger hard to beat. "Original" does not always = "best". I for one would like to see some hard proof that senkos out fish the knockoff's...............other than the typical " Well I wuz fishin with the senkos out the front of the boat, and my buddy was useing super salty slick sticks, and I wuz catching 10lbers left and right and all he pulled in wuz clumps of hydrilla..........woo hoo git-r-done...." :;)

Asking what is the best senko knock-off is like asking who is the best second string quarterback.

;) Remembering the day Bledsoe got hurt and Tom Brady stepped onto the field.  Ghoti, you hit the nail on the head!!

I have tried so many different worms over the years I have lost track but nothing compares to the Senko.  If they stopped making Senkos tomorrow, I might go to Yum Dingers as a replacement.
