  2. hahahaha this is just WILD... I would love to get a translation of what the guy is saying... '>www.completelycolorado.com/forums/video/Pescaria_Meques.wmv AL
  3. new soft side tackle box... always a hit! AL
  4. I have the quit smoking part down so far. I have been quit for 1 Month, 1 Week, 4 Days, 16 hours, 48 minutes and 44 seconds (41 days). I have saved $140.11 by not smoking 834 cigarettes thus providing that much money for the Bait Monkey. I have saved 2 Days, 21 hours and 30 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 11/6/2005 9:00 PM so I am thinking 1.I want to lose about 20 lbs... 2.I need to work on my "patience" with stupid people as I have none for them. 3.Learn to be a better angler I don't think people should make TOO many New Years Resolutions.. but then again the more you have and IF you actually work on them then your success rate percentage rate may go a bit up... AL
  5. I think the bait monkey gets especially fat during the winter months... hope you enjoy your new purchases... AL
  6. yeah the Bait Monkey will get you good.... He just kicked my butt.... its terrible. My wife let me buy my own Christmas present so I have an invoice sitting right here for 288.18 and that was with free shipping and a 5% discount *sigh* It placed the order the 12th and I have been checking every couple of hours since then to see the "progress" of my order... just today it got shipped Now I have to wait for UPS to update so I can figure out when my new pole and reel will be delivered.. AL
  7. my Bass fishing year got a LATE start... late August After that it has been good as far as I GOT into Bass Fishing. Then the Bait Monkey got into ME My personal best was probably about a 3 1/2 pounder but that is just an edjumicated guess... I bought TWO scales so I will be able to say for certain what they weigh from now on. I have bought some SERIOUS gear, in so far I have bought 4 very nice graphite poles and 4 nice reels.. two of which are curados. I bought more than a normal person's share of bait, there there is the fishing buddy and the digital lip grip and now I am eyeing a trolling motor for the pay lake I go to and rent a row boat at hehehehe. I am not even going to mention the "crap" I bought because I was too green to figure out that I should buy decent stuff rather than the cheap stuff.. Its been a BLAST... my wife won't agree.. but I have really enjoyed it I joined a local club... yes I will fish some tournaments but to LEARN not to compete.. yes I want to do good.. but the first year should be a learning year don't you agree? why should I limit myself in learning when I hopefully will have 8 or more guys helping me get better... here is to a wonderful year.. and here is to an even better next year... HEAR HEAR!!!! AL
  8. the fishing portion of cabelas is WEAK.. do NOT buy the game if you want it for fishing.. you basically fish to EAT.... its not realistic and it is a HUNTING game..
  9. the ONE game I have been able to find on Xbox is Pro Fishing Challenge its pretty good... only thing is you can play as a female or a male... and the female is ummm well endowed.. nothing obscene but suggestive... I don't know about an 11 year old boy having the game... none the less... I think its a REALLY good game... AL
  10. I had to put TWO votes in.... I recently bought a game for the Xbox that I am addicted too... but also I shake like a crack addict till ice out... only way I keep it bearable is by playing that game... AL
  11. bait monkey bait monkey... what you gonna do? what you gonna do when he calls for you...
  12. this would be TOO cool if it were to happen... I have my fingers crossed.. and I will follow this like its the world series and the white sox are in it! AL
  13. wow DD how do you do that? I need for your financial advisor to talk to mine! hahahahaha I spent maybe 500 bucks this last year on stuff... and that was streaching it.. and I didn't make a penny on fishing either... don't look to for quite some time either AL
  14. recreational 100% of the time... next year I will be joining a club to learn how to be a better angler.... tournaments are just part of it... I am comptetitive by nature so even when I am out I am wanting to catch more and bigger fish than my partner.. LOL but I keep it in check and don't act "like Ike" when I catch a fish... AL
  15. bassindude... good input... OK they draw names prior to heading out and you are not allowed to have the same partner two months in a row... seems good to me. I know beings I am in the back of the boat I will most likely catch less fish. I accept that without a problem. I want to join for the fun of fishing. As long as I can catch a fish or two I am happy. I don't plan on making any money fishing... just yet once I get to know the guys I will know who I can "bribe" and who I can't ;D and what I mean by that is I will of course offer to pay my fair share for the gas but also I will tell him that he will also get 25% of anything I by miracle win. Hopefully that would be enough to get them to not blue falcon me by bad positioning of the boat and casting to all the spots before I have any chance at all. ALSO another rule is that the boater is required to give you control of the boat for 1/2 the time of the tournament. I have no problem NOT going to the front of the boat if the owner gives me a fair shake and shares his skills with me. I am not going out there to be competition for them. Lord knows even if I WANTED to be I am too much of a rookie at bass fishing to be taken seriously. It would be pure luck if I were to get big fish or anything. If I can talk the wife into letting me get my own boat though that will change as my learning curve will be going up SHARPLY. I also have a "pay lake" that I go to that I can rent a row boat.. its a BLAST... there are some NICE bass in there, its a good training ground for me to learn different presentations BEFORE tournament day. thanks for all the input. AL
  16. yep I saw it... VERY COOL... ;D enjoy your first few minutes of fame AL
  17. Congrads Glenn... from what I have seen since I have been here is an outstanding site that is above and beyond any other site I have visited... keep up the good work... its obvious the other folks here think very highly of you and that speaks volumes to me about you. AL
  18. I just bought the fishin buddy 1200. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet IT LOOKS GOOD THOUGH hahahahahaha I have heard that its PERFECT for smaller lakes because of the side looking sonar... soon as I get a chance to try it out I will be sure to post about it.. AL
  19. Sam, We are thinking along the same lines. My main intent is to improve my skills. Like I said earlier I went to a guys place and looked at his stuff and saw some pictures of Bass he has caught in this area... I am VERY much looking forward to beating my PB of 3lbs :-[ I know huge huh... but its not TOO bad considering I was using a row boat. I was by myself just doing the trial by error learning method and no electronics or anything. AL
  20. yeah I went over to a guy's house who is in the club to talk to him.... Seems like a really nice guy and it seems pretty reasonable. I won't get real active till next spring but this fall I will make myself known and we will go from there... next spring should be very exciting for me and my learning curve should go sharply up. AL
  21. I found a Bass Club in the city I live in. there are 16 members right now. The cost of the the dues is 20 bucks, tournaments are 20 bucks, as well I have to join Bass, plus National and State Bass Federation. All and all its going to cost me about 260 bucks a year plus gas money to the boater if I fish all the tournaments. Is this a worthwhile endeavour? I don't know how many of the tournaments I will be able to participate in with my job... I really want to join for no reason other than to get some more exp. So tell me all the benefits so I can make up my mind. AL
  22. yeah when I come home from Gander Mountain or Scheels. I just tell the wife... I bought some new "shoes" and she knows I bought a rod or reel. If I tell her I bought some ear rings she knows I bought either new bait or terminal tackle. works well... she very rarely gets upset unless I buy too many pair of shoes in a short period of time. AL
  23. Welcome... I am a newbie myself... everyone so far as been nice and the information I find while reading here is VERY good.. now if I could just catch more fish : AL
  24. thanks for all the input... sorry I didn't thank you all earlier.. I have been out of town since Thurs. I think I have a handle.. I was doing it pretty well.. need to rearrange a bit but nothing drastic thanks again AL
  25. I try to go once or twice a week. Sometimes I get to go after work for a couple of hours. its gonna come to a halt pretty soon when the time change goes into effect.. will be dark a lot of the time when I get off work. How much I go mostly has to do with work and all. work several weekends a month and from 0730 till whenever. wife is VERY supportive of my fishing as my job is high stress and she would rather see me fishing than drinking LOL AL
