How many casts will you make to one spot?
Depends... High value target gets 6-10 casts and sometimes multiple rigs if I know there's something there. Whatever approach I take I tend to be methodical and fishing all likely angles to an area.

FLOUROCARBON KNOT????
I'm pretty much stuck on the Berkley Braid knot but whatever you're comfortable with... Make sure the knot is lubed and make sure it seats properly. If it seems wrong, it is... retie it. With Fluoro, inspect and retie alot. This will help with break offs.

Sunline Machinegun Cast
Tackletour did not give a favorable review of this line. That being said I always like reading reviews before I buy. Please post a review when you have a chance to use it.

Backing
Depends really. I use enough to get good bite but also make sure the reel is about a 1/4 from being full. I cut and retie quite a bit so that leaves me with more main line typically.

fireline braid or sufix 832?
I used Fireline 30# last year... It was solid. I haven't used 832 but Suffix Performance braid is very solid as well. It was a little to stiff for my liking but that's the only issue I had with it.

lake fork plastics
I just got my order of Magic Shads. Can't wait to use them... As soon as they stop bouncing off the lake. > Ring Fry and Hyper are on the list as well.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid questions
Indeed. I have a spool of Tatsu for my favorite rig but I picked up 600 yard spools of 6,8, 12 and 15 to round out my options.

Spinnerbaits--Trailer or Trailer Hook?
I always use a trailer but rarely use a trailer hook. Not a huge spinnerbait guy though. I was just watching a video on spinnerbaits and the guy stated that no trailer hook made it easier to come through slop without getting fouled. KVD is a big fan of trailer hooks though and he's pretty darn good with them so I guess I'm on the fence.

Anyone else use combos for multiple techniques?
When I fish from shore I only bring (2) combos with me. I also carry a limited amount of tackle depending on where I'm going and what the water conditions are. If I have the luxury of having my truck close by or being on a boat then I have more options available.

vicious flourcarbon
Its a decent bargin line. Has memory issues etc Yozuri Ultra soft is cheap and effective.

Zara Spook
Solid Advice. I use the same pretty much but when I need something different I use black shiner and foxy momma for some flash. Another trick I want to try is painting an orange stripe on the bottom of the bone or clear spook.

Scenario: You are traveling and...
Search and destroy with a spinner or crank. Once I've indentified some sweet spots I will explore all parts of the water column.

Lake Champlain
The area Webertime described is money in April. Anyway shoot me a PM or whatever. When I start going out I can show you around. Solid 10" of snow right now... But my order from TW arrived so although its expensive I won't be bored.

If you need a tour guide, let me know. I've lived North for several years but spent my whole youth farther south in the state.

Want To Own Just One High-End Lure?
American Shad LC 100 & 128 are awesome!!! As far as color, the only lure I've ever painted was a spook. And I painted it jet black. Needed a dark color for dusk fishing.
-
When your lure isn't producing
Color would be more important for an unfamilar body of water especially from shore, imo. Generally speaking I fish natural forage in clear water & darker or louder presentations in murky water. Changing retrieve and location before changing colors.

New rod Advice...Powell Max, Abu garcia verdict +veritas, Dobyns Savy
That is a very serious statement. I need to pick up a Savy.

missed hook sets on hollow body frog
The stretch will actually help your hookup percentage. Line like so many other things is just a tool. The right tool for the job.

Lake Champlain
Yes, bring your gear! Things will really start to get interesting then... I live in Milton and fish from Ice out to Ice up. South Hero side of the bike path is also great fishing. LOL @ intentionally vague.

Gear ratio for spinnerbaits?
I burn spinners with a Curado E7... But mostly use a Revo Winch (5.4:1) This is a weak spot in my game though. Hope to improve this year. Been watching film and reading to get better at it.

BPS pro qualifier
For the money its tough to beat. Things you will notice is the size difference and overall smoothness.
