Hook removal from fish.....what's the secret?
Or they crush the barbs.

Mixed message on bait quality
Or the same reason the Spook doesn't come with split rings... Its the 1st thing that most people change so why not sell it that way.

6'6'' compre med hvy med fast -what to do?
Compre is a decent rod. It would make a nice topwater rod... Also good for light plastics and jig applications. I use a 6'8 for jerkbaits but that should work as well. Give it a whirl; I think you'll like it.

Snelling question
I'm not very good at this one yet but I think most people trim the tag fairly short.

Topwater Bassin
LOL ... Systems Architect but yeah, its the sticks. I need to have (2) that way I won't cry when a pike takes one away.

Favorite Chatterbait Brand?
Z-man with the red eyes is a good one. Karu Lures makes an awesome bait as well.

Did anyone watch the press conference on Bassmaster.com after the Classic??
*NOT RELATED* He did an episode of hook N look that people should check out. I will DVR any of classic footage to see what I missed on the interwebz.

How would this behave on a Chatterbait?
*AHEM* LF Magic Shad Trust me.

Topwater Bassin
lol Sammy, gunfish and spook are great tools. Somedays you need to stir them up a little. The old Pop-R is tough to beat. I have (2) Buzzjets on the way for this season. Topwater is so much fun.

Gamma Question
"To follow the announcement we made back in January of this year, I am pleased to report that Ferrari Importing Company is now in the final stages of successfully selling GAMMA Technologies' interest in the fly fishing and conventional fishing line business. The new owners, Black Knight Industries Inc., will be taking ownership by the end of November 2010 and will begin servicing your account and fulfilling your orders immediately thereafter." This is what I found... Not sure if accurate or not. Or did it get sold again.

Please Look -Cavitron Crazy LOL
That's dedication right there.

Quality reel for a hundred bucks ?
Mine as well. BPS PQ is a decent reel but I don't like the body.
-
Topwater Bassin
LOL - certainly use the one the fish bite. I use walk the dog type stuff to cover a larger section of water such as a weed bed and use pop-r's & prop type ones for more specific targets like brush piles, standing timber.

Wanting a new reel. Narrowed it down....
LOL yeah... Send me one while you're at it.
-
UFC - Phil Davis replaces Tito Ortiz...
Davis has been impressive but Lil Nog is very experienced. I'll take Davis but won't be surprised if he loses.

First open water fish of the year.
Great fish... Vermont still in deep freeze. It was 4 degrees this morning.

Choices, choices, choices.
I have a Curado 201E7 and a Revo Winch. If Shimano would have made a 201E5 I would have that as well. Instead I have the 51E which is a great light bait reel.

New on Board from SW Ohio
Welcome to BR! Some great people learn from...

How old is too old for backing line?
How much backing do you use? I fill a little less than half my spool with backing and I can regularly cast down to the backing with certain lures after retying a few times. I use enough to cover the spool and enure no slippage.

Choices, choices, choices.
Im going to say mostly cranks. If it will do cranks and top waters that would be a huge plus. Still mostly if not all cranks. Shimano CU200E5 is the right reel for the job. Probably one of the best crankbait reels around especially for the price.

Choices, choices, choices.
That puts you in range for a ton of sick reels however $200 will get you a great reel.

Rod for Shimano Curado 201E7
I have an 200E5 sitting on a Crucial, great combo there! Crankbait machine. Wish they made that one in lefty...

Rod for Shimano Curado 201E7
The Powell 683C is a great rod for the money. I haven't used a Dobyns Savy but have also heard good things.
