  1. I've read about this one... Need to pick some up. I know guys have alot of luck on hair jigs. My best smallie producing jig was Bitsy Bug with a netbait Paca Chuck.
  2. I've never fished that Loomis Rod but the Avid is solid. I perfer a moderate taper for cranks. Steez and any higher end rod would be great.
  3. Yes indeed. Spring and fall favorite.
  4. Costas rock... At least the older pair I have does. Check this out: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewcostahammerhead.html I use Oakley gascans for sunny days and the older Costas (Amber Lense) for overcast.
  5. Silva would have to drop a lot of weight. Remember Silva went and beat everybody at 205 and then dropped to 185 to beat all of them. I don't think he'll drop to 170. I think Jones' real test is next. I'm surprised to see him get a title shot this fast. He did dominate last night though. Shoggun is a big step up from Bader. Jon Jones is superb but green. He reminds me of Anderson Silva. That being said, Shogun is a formitable opponent. Especially if he comes in focused; if he looks past Jones he could be in for a rude suprise. I'll take Jones just because. Shogun is a tough dude though with an extremely well rounded game. as for Jones - Bader... I think Bader thought he would just out wrestle him and overpower Jones. Jones has really good MMA wrestling and must be stronger than he looks.
  6. GF's slow cooker cuban pork. Its pretty much food network with some personal touches. Flavor injector works good with these types of dishes. Ingredients: 1/4 cup lime juice 1/4 cup orange or grapefruit juice 1/4 cup water 3 minced garlic cloves 1 teaspoon crushed dried oregano cayenne pepper or your choice of spicy pepper to taste 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 bay leaves 4 lbs boneless pork shoulder 1 cup sliced onions pack of fresh flour tortillas (corn if you hate flour) Directions: To prepare marinade for pork roast mix together fruit juices, water, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, pepper(s), and bay leaves in a small mixing bowl. If necessary, trim fat from pork roast. With a large meat fork, pierce meat several times. Place roast in a large Ziploc bag; add marinade. Marinade in refrigerator for 6 to 24 hours; turning several times. Place onion in bottom of slow cooker topped with meat and marinade. Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or High 5 to 6 hours. Remove meat from slow cooker and cool slightly before carving. Skim fat from gravy. <--- Important Shred meat; remove onions with a large slotted spoon and add meat. Remove bay leaves and discard. Serve meat in tortillas with small bowls of gravy.
  7. Buddy has his on a Zillion rod. Nice combo.
  8. Trick worm is money. Sidewinder works okay for this as well.
  9. I understand your concern... Last activity was Yesterday at 3:43pm though so its strange no one accepted.
  10. Rattletrap everday of the week and twice on Sunday. I also perfer the RES to Rapala.
  11. I highly recommend checking here or Epicurious... http://www.foodnetwork.com/topics/slow-cooker/index.html
  12. I have that rod as well. Its a great rod for that... Little to stiff to be an all around rod but botton contact within specd limits. Its awesome. Its actually more like a H than a MH so its pretty rugged. I bagged a 41" Northern on it with no issues. I did have issues with tip guide but I fixed it myself. ...and while I like the rod, I almost certainly trading it for the Legend Extreme.
  13. Paca chunk was my #1 jig trailer... I could never find Rage Tail baby craws in the color I wanted. They make them but they are never in stock. That's a good sign.
  14. - Clip on flashlight for my hat. - Pelican box for Camera, cell-phone, keys etc) - Leatherman Multitool - bottle of advil - butane lighter - duct tape is a must
  15. This thread will make you go broke.
  16. This place has really helped me expand my techniques and that has been paramount to catching more fish. The best advice was related to using higher end gear and using the right tool for the task at hand.
  17. I like the 60 but use both... I've experimented with an internal tube weight and EWG 3/0 as well.
  18. Sammy is a good bait. Gunfish also a nice option if you like LC. and I would have a buzzjet but there all solded out!!
  19. I use a Shimano Curado 201E7 and a Loomis BCR803 GLX for my smaller jerk baits... I work them all kinds of speeds until I find out what works. The points David P brought up are excellent as well.
  20.
