  1. A tube is my desperation bait.
  2. Try to match the hatch in your preferred bodies of water. Perch, bream and shad around here. I use natural colors in clear water, bright colors for stained & a few really dark ones for low light.
  3. Avid is a great rod so you really can't go wrong.
  4. oh and Norman DD is pretty much a standard for deep cranks.
  5. LC is awesome... Still waiting for a DEPS buzzjet to come in stock.
  6. Its a good 1st baitcaster... Not sure how it would perform as a deep cranker. Its not a very smooth reel but it will do the job. Drag is a bit weak as well. My buddy has (2) of them and likes them.
  7. That is horrible. Thoughts and prayers to the family and freinds.
  8. Its more technique specific for me. Listening to pro's or other fishermen talk about specific products I like to draw my own conclusions. For instance if Skeet or KVD said they won the classic on Swim Senkos (LOL) I would have to investigate how that would be possible before committing.
  9. x2... If only they made lefty!
  10. Thanks for the link (the particular link didn't work though), but I got my answer. Idk how I missed that when I googled "big ika". 1inStripes: Could you elaborate please? I'm more concerned about overloading my Powell Max; I'm pretty sure it won't break. Sorry for the overstatement. Just looking to do some regular weightless T-rigging, and maybe some wacky-rigging (an experiment I started with the fat ika). You'll be fine. Not sure why my link didn't work though. :-[ Fat IKA is my favorite GYCB bait.
  11. Should be fine... Check out the pic in this article: http://www.insideline.net/index.php/ezine/60-ezine-bigika
  12. I have the Loomis and love it. Best rod I've ever owned. I use it for weightless plastics, small jigs, topwater and jerkbaits.
  13. I have good luck with 30# Fireline on my Curado. It casted great and wasn't as stiff as say Suffix. I since switched to Daiwa Samurai 40#.
  14. I use a 5/0 EWG... Its simple and my hookup percentage was good.
  15. Suckers are great... Round here the golden shiner is a go to live bait.
  16. I use a Revo winch which has worked fairly well.
  17. Fluorocarbon is invisible in the water... Clear line is much less visible in clear water. All my braid is green and I have no problems catching fish... I rarely use a leader as well. I use Stren mono (blue) with great results as well. Choose the line for the type of fishing and conditions your fishing.
  18. My local wally world is a sad scene... Line and terminal tackle is the only its good for.
  19. Topwater, weightless plastics, finesse presentations, small jigs... 6'8 MH is my favorite bottom contact rod. G Loomis GLX BCR803.
  20. I have (2)... I perfer bandits, LC's and Strike King over them. Maybe I'll have that great day with one and it will win me over but I doubt it.
  21. He mentioned medium \ deep cranks so I have think 7'2+ but agreed. Compre is a good choice as well. Winter baitmonkey attack....
  22. Do you need to buy a Cabelas rod? If not Abu Garcia Vendetta Cast Rod 7'3" MH would work well in that catergory and its $89.
