First fishing trip of the year
I hit a farmpond (about 2 acers or so) for about two hours this afternoon. This is the first fishing trip for me this year. I caught four nice bass ranging from 13in to 17in. I had a few more but they got loose. Overall it was a good fishing trip in extremely nice weather! I have pictures just IDK how to post them. Could someone help?

Was this a (swimbait) bite?
I don't think there are many gar in virginia. Could be wrong though. there might not be, i didnt think there were any up here in PA but some guys illegally put them in muliple ponds/lakes, could be the same for you. There are plenty of gar in Va, I see them all the time in the Chickohominy and in Westmoreland. A buddy of mine caught a 4 footer in the Rappahannock. Yeah there are a ton of gar in Va I've even heard of them in alot of VA ponds I guess I was wrong then lol.

Fishing on the rocks?
Now that the weekend is looking nice, I think I'm going to be able to hit my local lake. One side of the lake is covered with big rocks. I wanted to fish that side mainly because rocks warm up the fastest, but I'm not sure completely of what to fish. I was thinking of using lipless crankbaits, and t-rigged chigger craws. Is that a good plan? P.S. I'll be fishing from shore.

Pond Scenario-Why don't the bass get any bigger?
I'm no expert by any means but my advice would be keeping all the small bass, and crappie that u catch (crappies are delicious!!) And mebbe putting some mature blugill into the pond to help even it out. Hope it helps!

How will gas prices effect your fishing.....
LOL all the ponds and lakes I fish are within biking distance, so I guess it doesn't really affect me overly much, probably though it may affect my family fishing trip to Lake Taneycomo, which is three hours away.
