Rod / Reel For Weightless Fluke Fishing
Spinning rods. It does depend on the brand of fluke though. Actual zoom brand fluke weigh like nothing and can be difficult to cast. You can throw a double rig on a medium casting rod pretty easily though

Swimbait Fishing
I think it depends on the line you choose really. They are not all made equally. Even in the same # test the diamater can vary and so does the actual breaking strength. Not to mention how much stretch a line has depending on brand and it's # rating. If you go with CXX 17# is pretty good for the weights you have listed.

Lure Training (Zara Spook)
Casting vs spinning doesn't really matter. Pick whatever your comfortable with although if you are still new to casting a spook is a great bait to get practice in since they are the best casting bait flat out. They are a bullet with treble hooks they are basically the perfect shape. You can work spooks tip up or even sweeping to the side as the walk so easily. Braid is fine so is mono or copoly. With braid and spooks sometimes it might be good to run a leader for the stiffness. It will keep you bait from walking over your limp braid with the front treble and fouling your cast.

Wacky Rigs
Finish nails and heat shrink tubing. You can hook through the heat shrink and senkos last forever that way.

Bankfishing Tips?
I don't really take a lot of precaution about my movements on the bank unless there is a specific spot I want to target and give my self the best chance at a possible big one I think is sitting there. I generally cast ahead of me and work my way around and most fish are caught paralleling the bank rather then straight out. Well for me usually. One tip if yu fishing back woods spots is buy a machete so you can get to the fish. If you trudge through some gnarly trees and such hold you rods butt end first and not tip. You can plow right through stuff that way and rod sleeves work great to keep stuff from hooking around eye or your line and you make your way.

Favorite Fishing Video Game!
The very best is Sega Bass Fishing for Dreamcast. Black Bass for original NES is also great and a classic. There are a couple good ones for SNES also.

How Do You Grip Your Rod?
I put my whole hand on front grip. I originally held it differently when I was younger and did a split grip type thing. my spinning rods need to have a front grip and it's hard anymore since fewer and fewer seem to have them.

Swimbait Fishing
Depends but generally for me its 15-20 for those ranges. I throw a lot of CXX in 17# for baits in that range. It is plenty strong enough and I have total confidence in it.

Sick Fish..
Basstrix are still the best IMO. They might seem expensive but are insanely durable and flat out catch fish.

Favorite Topwater Lures
Spook Buzz frog Hollow body frog For brands on the spook I have been liking the Yamamoto spooks. For buzz frogs hands down Stanley ribbits. As for hollows I like bronze eye shads for how far they can glide or koppers and pad crashers work also. I really like to throw a popping frog for the most part. It gives you another option now cast you can't get with a non popping frog.

Anyone Have Success With The 6" Savage Gear Line Thru Swimbait (Trout)?
I plan on picking up some floaters this year. I can't wait to rig them up top and fish over bass and light matts. Just being able to possibly throw a bait in lances and not get fouled up is a game changer.

Hudd 68
I use both but fish weedless ones the most. It all depends on where you are fishing them really. I fish tons of grass and norther lakes generally have nasty bottoms so anything to reduce me fouling a cast helps. I will take them and bend up the hook a tiny bit so the point is just below the slot and it remains weedless. I feel like it helps as it takes almost nothing to get the hook point out and it's just a confidence thing for me. Anything that wants to bite a 68 I want to make sure I hook and not end up heartbroken wondering.

Swimbait Suggestion
Hudds and S-wavers and totally different baits. If you have neither I would recommend both really.

Action Loss On Swimbait With Metal Leader?
For main line mono or copoly is what is recommended for swimbaits. There are people who run braid even with big baits but even with heavy braid the chance or popping off a bait mod cast from a backlash is all to real. Not to mention it can't be good for a reel to have that much force hit it instantly.
- Fenwick Hmx Spinning Rod.

Action Loss On Swimbait With Metal Leader?
That CXX though. A fish might break a tooth trying to bite through it

The Deps 250 Is Awesome
So would I. That might be the most I have ever seen one single person have and I have seen a ton of collections.

Getting Knots In My Line Every Cast?!
Tie on a jig head and cast out as far as you can. Put the tip in the water (so you don't burn your fingers) and grab the line as tight as you can with you fingers and reel it in. Do it a couple times and it will remove all the twist in the line you had out. You can actually watch the jig head spin like crazy with all the twist you pushed out.

The Deps 250 Is Awesome
Any state is fine and of course they get bit. There is a time and place for everything though. It's not magical but they can make a big difference.

Best Rod And Reel Combo For The Money
For a reel you can't really beat a Diawa Tatula for the price. Then you have a extra $150 to drop on a rod of your choice. That all depends on what you plan to use or need it for. There are many good rods out there in that bracket.

Diawa Tatula
I don't know they really cast much farther then other reels. I do think though the breaking system is more forgiving and smoother. It's the best system out imo. Not to mention they are super smooth and seem to hold up great. I have beat the crap out of a few and they are doing better then there lews counterparts although both are solid reels.

Well I can't edit that post and it's a pita using my phone adding pic links. It would be way cooler if the forum resized stuff for you. Wink wink

Depending on the color you pick the hardness and softness seems to vary with them. If you want to get super fancy with rigging them making a line through is the best way to rig them. Other then that I just use a swimbait hook to go weedless although a jighead would work in sure
