  1. FYI you can actually make a kind of ghetto chatter bait for any lure by putting a hole through a suction cup and put it on in front of your lure facing out.
  2. Not Berlin but I have fished lake-o-springs that is right next to it a couple times this year and caught quite a few. My advice is don't fish there though because it's private and no fishing is allowed I couldn't resist because you said anywhere close and it is the closest you can get to Berlin.
  3. Tell me why it was snowing yesterday in Cleveland... I still went out in the evening though and caught half a dozen on cranks Its crazy to think just last Saturday when I was fishing I actually thought d**n it really hot out right now with the sun beating down.
  4. They have a stronger vibration and you can rip them really hard and clear it usually. Spinnerbaits go through weeds pretty well themselves but weeds can get wrapped around the arms or blades and make it almost impossible to unfoul.
  5. They are ok I guess for the price but they feel cheap and flimsy to me. I tore one up over the course of last summer and it was pretty wasted in that time. Granted I used it for frogging and jigs with braided line so that didn't do it any favors.
  6. Millionaires are cheap and are a good reel that is made for big baits and big fish.
  7. You know 39# PP is the diamater of 8# line and that is well in range with a average spinning reel. There is nothing wrong with having 30# you will be just fine. I have a couple spinning reels with 30 on them but most have 20# as that is what I usuly run.
  8. I think braid is optimal of you fishing vegetation but other then that something in 15# or 12# if it is CXX.
  9. A dropshot hands down. For me that is the best fish catching machine there is. If it is in front of a fish they are going to grab it.
  10. I use them as trailers on swmjig and chatterbaits. Cut the head off right behind the eye and your ready to rock. You can get like 50 fish out of one trailer they last so long. Also I only use the big size ones.
  11. Pretty much this. I rarely throw a spinner any more but always have a chatterbait tied on. Plus a chatterbait comes through vegetation better although a spinnerbaits does pretty good also.
  12. I think it depends on the season where you are throwing cranks but all year you ca catch them. I lost a fish that would of went like 4-5# today on a Rapala DT Flat and yesterday lost one the same size on a KVD 1.5. Its funny cause it was the only bites i even got both days and they came right when I started fishing. It was super windy both days and I had to stop fishing because of like 30 mph gusts of wind. I couldn't hardly cast not to mention my baits where running in a huge arch cause of the wind grabbing my line.

There is no feather on that far left one. It won't catch fish...
  14. I have caught tons of monster carp in my time. I have seen ones that go 6' all day but never caught one of them that big. I know it is frowned upon but as for snagging them rig it like a drop shot with a heavy weight and use 2 treble hooks. Braided line also helps of course. Cast over them and reel up then let it rip and I can pretty much gurantee it's on. I started snagging giant carp when I was like 8 or 9. They are no joke when you hook into a 30# carp.
  15. It all depends on the lure and what type it is. Generally there is a reason alme stuff costs so much money. It just matters how bad you want it or how into fishing you really are.
  16. Hey survivor man Less Stroud is looking for Bigfoot. That guy is legit. More power to him.
  17. I will look for fish that want to eat if nothing is going after a run through of what should work. Just like WRB said active vs inactive. You can wait them out if that's what your into but I am not looking for just any fish I want active fish.
  18. I use gill nets. Usually I will net the whole flat and sort them out later. It's better that way cause then I know I didn't miss any big ones.
  19. Nothing rips weeds like braid all depends on where and how you fish.
  20. I just saw some Minkota video the other day where the boat is like remote controlled when you launch it. I think I saw it through lunkerville. It's pretty cool.
  21. If your fishing them in tons of grass like I tend to do with spinners and chatter baits the braid make a huge difference in ripping them clean. It also make it was easier to know when the blades are turning.
  22. If you run straight braid it can be very easy to foul while walking a bait. If you run a leader it's stiffness will keep the line out ahead of the bait so you don't run it over.
  23. I know I can throw a 8" hudd pretty d**n far...
  24. It's not that you can't throw them in casting gear. It just always seemed like more of a spinning thing for me.
  25. Duolocks are fine to use and I do it all the time
