Great tip! The Booyahs come with a 55 strand skirt which is a lot on a buzzbait, IMHO.

Here's a tri-wing I fooled around with. The blade is from an unfishable Buzz King with a few mods. The buzz king blade didn't have a flat metal piece at the end of the blade to rub against the rivet so I added one. I used a steel rivet on the blade arm and soakied it in a bleach water solution to oxidize it a bit, so i have 2 rivets rubbing against each other that produces a really nice squeal to it. Whatchya think?

Supposedly it's supposed to run true right out of the box. What weight size did you get? A few things I do when I get one that turns over: Take a visual inspection and make sure the wire and hook are inline. As a starting point I bend the wire coming out of the lead head so it's straight. I'll do the same thing with the R-Bend, riser wire and finally the blade arm wire. I also make sure that the blades cups are the same, if 1 is bent in or out more than the other, the blade will cause too much torque on the bait and will make the bait flip over. Once I have it all straightened out, I'll test it in the water for a true track and tweek the blade arm only from there. If the above doesn't work, then I know I have a dog of a bait. You can also weigh the bait, if it's rated 3/8 oz or more then a #3 blade size should be used, if less then the #3 blade will be too big for the bait, again, causing the bait to flip over. Sorry for the long post, but I hope that helps.

Thanks QUAKEnSHAKE, I forgot about the rotating models, I'll have to look into to that. The one we have doesn't rotate and only delivers about 600 watts of power, so it takes a while for the waffles to cook and get browned. My wife was hoping to get one with removable hot plates so she could throw them in the dishwasher, so I'll have to research that a bit as well. Thanks again.

Good for you Jones, congrats on your new job and good luck! I'm starting a new job as well and as of this time, I am open to fish, but that could change. I start a construction project on Monday, March 5th and will have a better idea in a couple of weeks if I can totally commit to the E MA outing.

Probably not, but is it worth the risk?

For the most part I keep constant tension on the fish and rod tip down, but that's not to say that going the opposite way isn't an option. I made the mistake of hooking into a nice bass last spring on a spook jr and I tried to keep him from jumping, so I kept the rod tip down and reeled. I knew that eventually I was going to be reeling it into a wall of weeds, so instead of turning my rod tip up and try to skate that fish over the weeds, I maintained my original technique and wound up losing a 4# fish in those weeds. Lesson learned. Sometimes you don't have a choice and that fish will break the surface. Some anglers give slack (bow) to the fish and some maintain tension. Me, I maintain tension and get religious (pray) real quick...LOL

I haven't used that particular brand, but have made a buzzbait using the same type of blade configuration. Bascially, the blades rotate in opposite directions causing the bait to track truer. You can have the same attributes as a standard 2 winged blades, meaning you can break it in the same and get the squeal you want and, IMHO, it does cause a little more surface disturbance. I've also seen this type of blade configuration with a smaller four winged blade centered in the larger blade, but I haven't fished one, so I really can't comment on it, but it does look like an interesting bait.

You're on the right path OHIO. Idealy, you want to spend time in the field and know your craft/trade well and then you want to be able to get peeps to to it for you, the way you want it done. Much less wear an tear on the body and you make a very good living for yourself. Good luck!

There is parking right off of 2A and I've never had any problems leaving my truck there when I fished. During the pre-spawn you can get some really nice oinkers at the end of the beach area and along the path adjacent to the beach abutting the school. You can fish all the areas around 180* from the end of the beach with pretty good success. Once you get on the western bank, you'll see your success rate drop. I have a college education at a tech school for building construction and mostly worked for fairly large GC firms as an estimator and project manager. My career started out as a carpenter. I got laid off 5 years ago (the company went under) and was able to pick up the tools again to support my family. I just recently accepted an offer to work on a large, 2 yr commerical project as a "working superintendent" for a comapany based out of Chattanooga, TN. I'm very grateful that I had both field and college experiences. I really don't think anyone looks down upon the blue collar man here at all. Now a days it's a war of attrition to stay alive and keep your family affloat. Having both classroom and field experience has proven aces for me.

Welcome to the forums, BMully. Old Lexington Reservoir is right on 2A, it has plenty of shoreline access and parking. I grew up and worked in Waltham and used to fish it 3-4 times a week. Get your dog walkers ready, The res is awesome for topwaters. Just before July 4th, they treat the water for weeds and in some years they overtreated it and killed too much around shoreline, so it can be a feast or famine type of pond. It's LMB with perch, crappie, pumkinseed and crawfish for forage. I have seen some pretty big carp in there and only discovered that last fall. Snapping turtle are there and get quite large. I snagged a couple of them with my jig. Good Luck.

What's left to pay on the house and at what interest? How many more years are left? That's a tough one, either way health and dental are expensive and premiums are becoming out of reach for the average citizen. Why only 10% of your pay if you continue to work? I guess I may be reading that one wrong?
