What do you think about the so-called rules? We have conversed about this before with the exception of fishing out of state, but then again, at that time we we both getting a bunch of snow dumped on us and we realy didn't care! Ahhh...you got them backwards. I will say, that was the strangest description I've ever heard, but the good news is, you're not nuts! I understood it! LOL Do me a favor? I'm the one on these forums that tends to post the "off-the-wall" (I think that's what a well respected member described it) lures. If you made 4, then switch out three to the right configuration and fish the original backwards, like the one you made. I'd be very curious as to how that works. You think I'm nuts? Try this: Take your big blade from the rear and switch it to the front and put your front small blade on the back on the bearing. The bass goes nuts. What happens is, the big blade in front starves the rear blade (on the bearing) of water causing the rear blade to flutter like a spoon. Try It!

Shane J, I'm glad you joined in. My original thoughts was to keep it in New England that way we all have equal chance per se'. Besides, Memorial day is May 30th, does that affect you with your trip plans? You bring up a great point though, I never even thought about anglers crossing New England State lines for vacations and such. Having said all that, what do you guys think? I personally will be bouncing from MA to ME during the summer. I know B-Dozer is in CT and could potentially go to NY (B-dozer I would love to come to CT, but your state is not very out-of-state angler friendly with their license fees), same with Wanderlust from VT to NY? IMHO, without knowing everyone's situation, I think if you're a New England fisher and you have a trip planned, then it's fair game. Post your catch. How about you TWN's? Is that the only one you're using? LOL BTW guys: We're talking about pure topwater lures, not I used a trick stick on top. Lures that manufacture's market for topwater use. If there is any question we'll take a vote by all the participants.

Hey midnightthrasher...I actually use 1/4 oz & 1/2 oz for the most part, 3/4 oz if I'm really fishing deep or during a really windy day. As far as fishing faster? It really depends on your blade configuration. You can slow a lure down by attaching a bigger blade (rear) or make it faster by going smaller. Just be careful that you don't go too big or the lure will flip over on you. Different blades will also have an affect on them as well. Colorado's will really slow a spinnerbait down, but it will also lift it up more. Willows will keep the lure down and the bigger it is the slower you can work it (slow roll technique). I switch out the split ring for a snap just for this purpose. I can send a guide of what will work on different size baits if you want? Just send a PM and I'll get that over to you. Hope this helps.

So true. When I started fishing you selected your rod based on action and power. I built 6 of my bass rods based on those standards and the applications I wanted to use them for. Then came the whole "dumbing down of America" craze and the manufactures came out with "technique specific" rods. I had to retrain myself all over again. Take DVT advice on focusing on getting the feel for each. Good post DVT.

The Eastern Conference had a lot of teams bunched up with a 100 or more points, so the team that goes for the cup will probably be the team with the hottest goalie (cliche, I know). Hard to look past the Canucks in the West. Guess what team I'll be rooting for in the East?

I've been out 3 times this year all from the bank. The first time was a week after iceout and I got 1 that was 2lbs and 1 at about 1.5 lbs. 3 Days later I got my new PB. The third time I blanked. That's just fishing. You have to go out there with the mindset that you're gonna catch fish and be confident while doing it. I've had the "perfect" fishing days during the summer and blanked. Again, that's fishing. Like AndyPlaysDrums said, just keep hitting it and it'll come. Keep your chin up my friend.
