Keep making those lures!!
Congrats on your PB Bass Dude. Some of my best catches have been on lures I built. I agree, there IS a lot of satisfaction catching fish on lures you created.

what do colors imitate
Hey Getfished, I'm just curious as to where you got that info on bass seeing ultraviolet? I've read about trout or the salmonoid species, like Francho mentions, being able to see this spectrum and agree with you in that we as people can't see it, but I have not heard of bass being able to see it. I'm not disagreeing with you, but everything I've read and googled has not supported this. I read that bass see the same color spectrum as we do and have also read that they see a limited spectrum. I tend to believe the latter. I personally don't put a ton of stock into color per se, I look at what is visible at certain depths I'm fishing in. That might be the best strategy, but it seems to work for me.

Tackle stores
I hear they use testicles for bait down there. Bait to catch what? Stinkbait for catfish.

Shallow spring bass
IMHO, I would think your chances are very good, considering you mention that there is a creek channel. If there is an incoming current (I'm not sure if that's the case, but it's worth mentioning) which is warmer than the rest of the lake, then you should be able to get em pretty good. If the incoming water is colder, then I wouldn't spend a great deal of time there. One other thing, if the incoming water is bringing in a lot of silt and is temporarily muddying the water, then the bite could really slow down. Good luck either way.

Hook removal from fish.....what's the secret?
If you push the hook to the opposite side of the barb and then pull out, you should be able, on most occasions, remove the hook with out tearing it out of the fishes mouth. It's a good technique if you hook yourself...LOL

Topwater Bassin
lol Sammy, gunfish and spook are great tools. Somedays you need to stir them up a little. The old Pop-R is tough to beat. I have (2) Buzzjets on the way for this season. Topwater is so much fun. 2 Buzzjets? I'm going into the maple syrup business...LOL

Topwater Bassin
I use the same strategy as Wanderlust. Somedays a louder chugger bait is needed and somedays a quieter dog walker is needed. If I had my way, they would nail a dog walker all day...LOL

If you could ask Shaw Grigsby a question
That must have been awesome. It sounds like Shaw Grigsby is as genuine in person as he is on television. Congrats to you, Keri, can't wait to see the vid.
