Tried The Ned Rig Twice
I guess I don't really get it. A Fat Ika with (or without a nail weight in the nose) fishes basically the same way and is way more snag resistant. The baits nose down the same, wriggle the same and catch the same numbers (that I have experienced). Ika snags less, TRD a little more durable (mend it with Ikas). Cost per unit is a bit cheaper for the Ikas.

Dobyns - New Contender For The $100 Rod Catergory
I'm getting my 735 in the next day or so. My buddy has a couple and so far in hand (not out fishing yet) he loves them. IE I have no real info yet, but they are in peoples hands.

Don't Do What I Did (Arashi Squarebill)
A 5.8lb Smallie on 30lb Power Pro (with a Lucky Craft crank and their hit or miss hooks) say you probably just got a bad hook on your crank. I had a Duo Realis Spinbait 80 with their Owner hooks have all 3 points break off a treble due to a thrashing 2lb Smallie this spring. Just a bad hook making it through.

How To Find Bigger Smallies
Deeper holes Behind current breakers (rocks, logs, etc.) Undercut banks In the lower water next to fast water. If the river dumps into a pond/lake, it could be that the larger fish only run up it to spawn and the youngsters stay a few years then move out themselves. Happens up here on dozens of rivers that dump into Lake Champlain. Try a shakyhead with a Berkley Pitboss.

Phenix Frog Rod???
Been around in one form/owner or another for years. Saltwater and west coast dominant.

Does This Seem Like A Good Deal?
For comparison, I bought an 88 Ranger 374v with a Merc 150, 3 New batteries, Motorguide 76lb TM and the Ranger Trailer for $3200... $2500 MAX for a boat with a 30Lb TM and soft spots on the floor (makes me wonder what else is rotten...) AND I live in a spot where there aren't a ton of Bass boats. In a flooded market area (compared to me) you should be able to do much better. Get a nice aluminum boat.

Phenix Frog Rod???
The XF in Phenix is not as fast as say a Powell or St Croix XF. Go H.

Champlain 2015
Bass are spawning from South Bay north to Malletts Bay. The inland sea North of Malletts has the fish staging and very spooky. Main lake fish are still pre-spawn jerkbait eaters. Paper tournament today (inches) 94.5, 92.5, and 92 were top 3.

Which Cranking Rod?
I really like my 70mhm Mojo. Also useful for super spooks and big jerkbaits (Pointer 128).

Keitech Swing Impact Or Swing Impact Fat?
"Alex. What is two awesome baits?" Fat on a Screwlock is $$$ Anorexic on a Jighead is also $$$

Length Of Leader
It's a personal choice. I go as long as 6ft, most of the time 4-5ft. I never use fluorocarbon as a leader on a Carolina Rig. It a depends on where you are fishing it.

Champlain 2015
53 to 63 degrees around St Albans Bay and the Inland sea. It's ON! 70 bass, mixed bag. Personal best Smallie today (5.8) & Champlain best Largemouth (6.5). Best 5 would be over 25lbs. Jerkbaits, shallow cranks & Keitechs did the damage.

True Or False... (Citica E)
Knobs are replaceable. No bearings though.

True Or False... (Citica E)
True or False... You can replace the knobs on the stock handle of the Citica E?

Colors For Brown And Green Water
Specific colors don't matter to much for me. Contrasting colors on the bait seem to work way better than single colored bait in various types of stained water.

20 Lb Floro..
Abrazx 20lb is practically bulletproof if you decide to go for it. (Coming from a Sniper fan)

Champlain 2015
Current conditions up north are 47 to 52 (Malletts, Keelers, St Albans, Rouses Point). Smallies are eating everything. Down south the Larrys are up in the grass with water inthe 50s. Water is low for this time of year. Enjoy boys

Kickerfish Tail Slapper Vs. Keitech Fat
On a jighead or swimbait hook? I think on a jighead they are really close. Swimbait hook... not even close. Keitech wins.

Got My Daiwa Lexa Yesterday
I believe it's the 5x11x4. (It's the larger of the 2 most common Daiwa sizes)
-
Got My Daiwa Lexa Yesterday
Clean and flush the stock bearings and enjoy it as is. I tried upgraded bearings in a Lexa and it didn't offer $30 better casting on the Lexa. I think the fixed inductor on the spool is the reason. I did add a bearing under the cast control cap and it improved the feel when retrieving or fighting a fish.

Dobyns Savvy Or Phenix Maxim Spinning...go.
This could end up like the roulette scene in The Deer Hunter... "Dobyns Mao!"
-
How Do You Fish A Keitech Impact?
How do I fish them? Screw lock hook, drop shot, Carolina Rig, and neko rig.

Dobyns Savvy Or Phenix Maxim Spinning...go.
Yawn Dobyns Savy are responsible for most childhood cancers too? If I had to choose between the Maxim and Savy, I would go Savy, I don't trust the proprietary reel seat thing on the Maxim. I have owned a bunch of Phenix rods too and am a fan.

Dobyns Savvy Or Phenix Maxim Spinning...go.
Savy's are 160-180 Maxim's are 110-130 In that range there are a lot of choices. I'd look at the new Elite Tech's from Fenwick, the New Crucial from Shimano, and the Daiwa Tatula as well. The Tatula is a really nice rod.
