  1. Sounds like there could be a good story there, are you willing to share it with us?
  2. 5% bracket for me!!! Location for me is the first and formost thing, Confidence in being able to locate the fish first then confidence in the decisions you make that follow.
  3. Well then stop bass fishing and start crappie fishing lol !!!
  4. Hayden, There is nothing wrong with what you do, anyone can see that just by looking at the fish you catch and post on here. If I may voice my opinion, Sam has offered you a chance of a lifetime, this experience of fishing larger waters and getting out there is not just about fishing, sharing time with people and the interaction between friends is a big part of life brother and an opportunity few people get to enjoy. You really should take this under consideration, you will most likely come away with a lot of great memories, the fishing is just a bonus for both of you.
  5. Size is always my first then depth and swim pattern. My way of doing it is broken down into time of year, winter, spring, summer and fall, the ones that work well in fall and winter, I buy 2 of so I will have one for each season as it crosses over, same for the other ones. 200 wow you have a lot of sorting to do lol.
  6. We look forward to hearining from you and welcome to the forum!!!

  9. Yes they will be there or around that area. Fishing a nuke plant is a funny thing, there is one on my home lake here in Va., I can go almost anywhere and catch fish but as soon as I get back to her it's like fishing brand new water. Nuke plant fish seem to turn on and off at the drop of a hat at least it seems that way here on this one. I try to find that majic temp on the water where they are most active and then establish a pattern, at the exit of the plant in the dead of winter I have seen water temps in the high 70's and high 90's to over 100* in summer month's, most of my fishing is done where water temps are high 50's to mid 60's in the winter, this lake along with other nuke plant lakes also will develope reverse current where the water travels back to the plant, I try to find structure and cover just on the outside of these warmer currents and find these areas to be most productive in the colder months.
  10. His electronics did wonderful, we had a little glitch in the drivers sonar screen due to the fact of some interference from another electronic source on the boat, it caused the sonar to bounce patterns instead of a clear picture, but we got it cleared up and working, that was the first time I have seen that river at Egypt bend with side scan and down scan technology...pretty cool stuff. We may have fished roughly 45 min. but the wind and cold water absolutly froze my hands, I could not feel the spool under my thumb and could not control my pitching at all lol...I figured it was best to quit before I dropped my rod in the water. Thank you for asking and I wish you luck the next time out as well. PS: Nice fish by the way!!!!!
  11. Geese travel long distances and with that they carry parasites from unfamilure waters, just like you would if you did not clean your boat from one lake to the next, weather or not it is enough to effect your water in a negitive way is the only unknown. I would definitely keep a close eye on the water for any changes...ie...surrounding grass dieing, lilly pads disappearing etc...
  12. Thats only because they hand raise their cats there...here kitty kitty kitty !!!
  13. I almost made it to that one but my friend and I opted to go to the shennandoah river to get his new electronics set up he and I installed this past weekend. We did fish a little afterwards but no luck just a few bites, nice job though Wayne, Some day I hope to catch up with you and do a little fishing.
  14. Were most of them caught out of Elk creek?
  15. It looked pretty good there for a while today, until it got windy, still reached 66* last I saw today. Im going to try and get the porta jon out and fish the rivers over here, maybe catch my first smallie!!!
  16. It truly is an awesome place to be!!! It does not matter much about the time of year though, it seems there is always something to talk about...just like Hooligan said in his last line X2. Good luck and be safe and we look forward to your post's.
  17. He obviously isn't married yet with children...lol. Have fun with it man you only go around once, do it the way you want and don't look back.

  23. That was awesome Shane thanx for sharing that with us!!!! I need to move to Florida...Really...shorts in Febuary and fishing top water.
  24. LOL !!! I fish a lot on the public side or used to anyway before the gas prices shot up, I would fish near dike 3, water temp around 60 to 66* There were many times I could not figure out why I would do this to myself especially launching from either Anna point or from Sturgeons. Even though the water was warm, air temp was not, it made one heck of a boat ride but the fishing was worth it.
  25. I like the trailer you choose...it resembles a real fish!!!
