New or remanufactured parts on line prices can be found on quite a few different web sites, seirra marine is a good one to look at but you will need all of your numbers and measurements to get the right quote.

2003 Yamaha 115 Issues
I re-read your first post and something had caught my eye, you stated this was your first boat, are you aware of how to choke this engine? Once you prime the fuel system there should be an enrichment, some are done by an automatic choke some are done by pushing the ignition key inward as you are cranking the engine. If you have an enrichment solenoid the action of pushing the ignition key inward while cranking will activate the solenoid and allow extra fuel to flow into the carb or carb's, or it will operate a set of choke plates, if you want to know if you have this type of system simply walk out to the boat turn the key on and push in on the ignition switch, you should be able to hear a click. NOTE: Be careful not to start or crank the engine while you have no water supply this could damage your water pump impeller. Not sure if this is your problem but just a thought.

2003 Yamaha 115 Issues
It defenitly should not start as hard as you are stating, most likely it has something to do with how the fuel gets enriched in that engine for your cold start and should really be looked at by a good technician as Rhino stated.

Wintertime Fishing
Spoons are good this time of year I have to agree and so are spinners, but my favorite is always and forever the jig. The Texas rigged worm is also a good bait to use if you really, really slow it down.

What's On Your Christmas Wish List?
Me personally it sounds like you enjoy each other's company. Why not take the oppertunity and go to the store of his choice and let him pick out what he wants and take the day to learn a little about the sport for yourself. There are also fishing vacations that you both may enjoy. Lots of great ideas and I am sure what ever you decide to do will make his Christmas AWESOME !!

Cranking Through Wood
Nothing too heavy around timber, normally I use a double bladed willow leaf, silver color or one silver one gold. Slow rolled or most likely all I will do is pick it up and let it fall through the timber if the timber is really heavy. If I were to choose to slow roll then most likely I will switch to a Colorado blade. Awesome post's by the way, lots of good info on cranking.

Cranking Through Wood
X3 !! I will do this same thing when using cranks, but normally if I am in heavy wood or grass I use spinners and hit every little branch I can. Spinners allow me to get less hang-ups and create some great action when fishing heavy cover.

? On A Motor
I have to agree here, if this is your first go fast boat man you have to make sure you know what the hell you are doing, the only way to gain thet is to do it yourself, just make d**n sure you take your time and learn at your own pace, do not go out and run as fast as it will go the first time out, there are so many things you need to learn before you even attempt to run a boat like this one, there is nothing wrong with owning a boat such as this one but please think of your saftey and the others you may have in the boat with you first. these type of boats can be-little you in a heart beat as far as blowing up and such the engines have been pretty dependible, the only time I have seen these type of engines blow is usually due to what Wayne stated in the fact that there is error in the way these boats are run. Take your time getting used to your boat and the power and you will do just fine think about saftey first and everything else will be ok, have the boat checked out by a good tech and drive it before you buy it. Good luck and be safe !!!! And send us some pics if you do decide to get it !!!!

Running Lean Gt-150
X2 !! Nice post Way2slow, I have seen the primer bulbs get old and start to crack and allow air to be sucked into the fuel system as well, especially around the quick connect "o" ring at the lower engine base, double check your fuel lines and your complete fuel system for any needed repairs also. Good luck and be safe!!!

Outboard Motor Problem?
Check your owners manual and your spark plugs I think it is supposed to be 50 to 1 there may be too much oil mix, But don't forget to check that lower unit. Also what fuel are you using? non ethenol? or are you getting it from your local gas station?
-
Would You Be Concerned?
NO LEAKS !!!! The best way I have found to check where the leak is originating from is to apply a soap and water solution to the area and use compressed air from the other side and slowly work the area while someone else watches the area inside.

Outboard Motor Problem?
Does it smoke a lot with 100 to one? After it stalled did the bulb take several pumps to reprime? Also check the prop and see if the lower unit is hard to turn, it could be the lower unit is binding causing the engine to work really hard.

Question Out Placing/taking Boat From Water
- Outboard Motor Problem?
When you say new, Is it new to you or is the boat/engine brand new? The boat "Engine" not motor requires most likely a 50 to 1 oil mix of good quaility oil mix to lube the internal moving parts. Could this be your problem? Maybe? How do you know your water pump is working? More info is needed like make and model of the engine, If you took the chance at "eye balling" the mix and did not get enough oil in it and ran it long enough to shut the engine down chances are good you may have damaged it in some way. Did it restart after this happened? If so how did it run after that, did it have power or lacked in power? Did you hear any sound coming from the engine after it shut down like eggs frying in a pan?- Boat Prep For Winter!
Make sure when you store your boat that your lower unit is stored in the lowest position possible as jigfisherman stated, keep a battery tender on for your batteries or remove them completly and store them in a warmer enviroment, fuel treatments are also wise as posted. If you are going to store it for a few months you may want to think about fogging the cylinders.- Trailer Tires
Rhino: I am referring to torsion axles for the most part, I doubt very seriously you will find alignment specs since there are none, they are supposed to be replaced when it sags or is worn, usually you can get the original specs from the manufactures website or call their support line and they will fax it to you. Way2slow: Usually when I see these axles on single axle boat trailers it has been modified by a previous owner or it is a special order...I live in the sticks I see a lot of mods or attempts to mod anyway...lol. Here is a pic of what I think you may be referring to for the guage if it is what you are talking about you can still get them from Hunter Alignment. Dwight: Nice post!!- Trailer Tires
Rhino I hope this helps I could not find the web site I was looking for but I made a quick sketch to show you what I am refering too. Most axles are a fixed angle axle that are found mostly in smaller trailers (less than 3000 lbs) But in some cases there are single axle trailers that can adjust to a larger boat such as mine for example, it is currently hauling around my 17' Nitro BUT it is made so that I can adjust to a 20' boat as well and has a 5000 lb rated axle. This particular axle has a tortion bar built into the tube and will allow the spindle to give or move as you get into tight turns and are mostly found on multiple axle set up's such as campers, larger boat trailers etc...- Bass Fishing On A Budget
I see a little bragging in there but to fish with the big boys so to speak and finish in the top 3 is quite a good job and you deserve to be able to toot your own horn or pat yourself on the back. To do it on a budget is even more rewarding, as for the boat, saftey is always the first thing to think about but at the same time it's not the boat that wins tourny's you do. There are advantages and disadvantages to owning a fast boat and a boat like yours it all comes down to how much you enjoy what you do with what you have and not giving a second thought to what others have also worked hard for as well. So what if others were born with a silver spoon in their mouth and can get the finer things in life thats not the point, the point is you did your best and in my opinion came up a winner. Weather your on a budget or not fishing is just fishing, stay sharp be safe and have fun and soon you will be on top of one of those tourny's.- Trailer Tires
Yes Caster, Some manufactures offset the spindle usually these are bolt on spindles but I have seen them made as one solid unit as well where the spindle is raised slightly above center. The position of the axle as to where the axle is mounted to the springs can be rotated to give positive or negitive camber if needed.- Trailer Tires
Good post, This is overlooked by a lot of people, there is a small amount of camber and caster built into most all trailer axles and having a trailer too high at the tounge will adversely change these angle's. Also don't forget to look at the leaf springs for any damage or wear and your shackle mount's and bushings should also be inspected before bending the axle.- New To Forum
Well I can't help you with being on the boat but if I may offer you some advise. Read all of the fishing articals on techniques in here at the top of the page, get a topo map of your favoite lake, look for areas such as drop off's like an old creek bed close to some primary points strap on a Carolina rigged lizzard,I like using a 1 oz sliding weight above the swivel with about a 2 ft leader (depending on the depth the fish are suspended at)in about 20 feet of water or more and try throwing a spinner if your in less than 20 feet of water, stay parallel with the drop and look for some sort of cover on the structure you are fishing and work that area first. Good luck and be safe!!!- Ode To The Texas Rigged Worm
Thank god for modern technology!!! The simple worm search has come a long long way huh. lol. - Outboard Motor Problem?
