What To Look For In A Beginner Boat
Great story Way2slow!!! It does however bring up a very intersting point, You must make sure you are completely ready before you launch your boat it does not matter if it is your first time or your 100th time even if there is a lot of people waiting to launch, take your time especially since this will be your first time and do not worry about what other people are thinking or saying and just focus on launching yours, One simple mistake could end up in disaster just like in the story above. Practice having everything ready a couple days ahead of time when you do get one and it will go like clockwork.

I Know I Did The Right Thing As A Co-Angler
The answer to your first question is they feel like they have punished him enough it really does not matter if you paid for the tests or not the truth is these tests are going to be inconclusive anyway so you would have done nothing but lost hard earned money there. The harsh but simple fact of him stating that he could not comment on your situation is that it means they have done enough in this instance and the case is closed. I agree with you and support your decision to chase this down BUT if you really want this to end then I feel its your decision and you must be the one to end it now and try not letting your emotions get the best of you, What I mean by that is this could be a long and VERY expencive action on your part and you may never be happy with the end result, I am speaking for myself but I feel like all of us are not happy with the way B.A.S.S. has carried itself and represented this sport with the actions taken but all of us are very proud of the actions you have taken. I hope it works out for you no matter what you decide to do I also wish you the best of luck in getting the results you are after.

Alright Here We Go...help!
Congrads!!! That is what makes us better fishermen... homework and time on the water. Keep in mind we have just had an earthquake and a hurricane back to back so the fishing is a little off right now, they get really spooked at the slightest things. We all get skunked from time to time and we all go through spells of...What the crap? why isn't this working? Sometimes it's our technique, Other times it's just a lack of attention to detail that gets us in trouble but it should never be from lack of confidence. Now that you know what was wrong with the puzzle you can continue putting it all together. GOOD JOB !!

Alright Here We Go...help!
Your looking for something different, A spinner is just a different version of a jig, As you let it fall is when the best action happens on a spinner and as the bass may follow it down it may decide to watch it go all the way down and wait for it to hop back up and hit it. I have had some good times using this technique give it a try, Fall to the bottom, wait 3 seconds, pick it up and let it fall and repeat. You may have to play with the pause times but it works.

What To Look For In A Beginner Boat
All real sound advise, Just dont rush your decision to buy the first thing you see, TAKE YOUR TIME !!! The wider the boat the more stable it will be especially if you have two or more people on the boat. I like 14 to 16 feet it gives ample room for your gear. Make sure that when you do get this boat and you set sail for the first time that you try to have someone with experience there with you if that is not an option make sure you have a time table prepaired of where you are going and when you will be back with emergency numbers etc... Be sure to pay close attention to detail, WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET!!!! Send us some pics when you get one picked out. Good luck and be safe!!!

Alright Here We Go...help!
Sounds like a pretty good start, Just keep in mind you need to let the baits fall and rest and as for the jig try slow and steady, Good luck!!! Be safe and have fun and let us know how you did.

Thoughts On This Boat
8k is not a bad deal at all for this boat if it truly is what they say. You really should go check it out and have it checked out and before you hand him the money, have him take you for a ride and get familure with the boat and all of its little quirks and do a little fishing from it while your out if you can, I feel sure you will fall in love with that boat since it is your first one just be careful and make sure it really is what you want. Be safe and have fun!!!

Boat Steering Help
If you can provide the numbers from your boat I can help you out with what to order and where to get them. What is the steering doing that makes you think you need cables?

So, How's Your Wco's?
Like as with any "law dawgs" MOST will treat you with the same respect you give them, Most will not cut you a break because you are in the wrong so make sure you have everything right. As for companionship I get checked every time I go out and some are getting to know me pretty well although there are a few new ones that are making a name for themselves and look for even the smallest things. Example: A new female was on board this particular day and asked to see my throw floatation device, It took me all of 4 seconds to get it out of my front storage area and that was not good enough, She told me it needed to be readily accessable and was going to give me a ticket for it, Had it not been for one of the guys that I see on a regular basis in the boat with her I would have recieved a fine. Thank goodness for these guys and gals though, the lake I fish a lot seems to have been much safer this year than in years past.

Fishing In Heavy Weeds
I agree with catt and ROLO both have really good advice, me personally I like to use lite swim baits usually in shad colors and hop them along the top of the grass and let it fall and lay on top of the grass close to the outside edge for a few seconds IF the grass is really thick.

Alright Here We Go...help!
Is there a feeder waterway into this lake? I have had luck with a light blue and brown jig just dragging it slowly across the bottom with a rattle in it in lakes around that area(looks like a small crab) If the fish are mouthing the top of the water it could mean the o2 levels are low that will cause the bass to be inactive as well.

Life As A Pro
Thanks for posting this Glenn. It's a very moving story that hit a little to close to home for me being born and raised just outside of Washington DC. Still the story captured the truth in what it means for the integrity of this sport and the hard work and dedication these guys and gals put fourth on a daily basis and not to mention how many others suffer in their family all so that he or she may have the chance to live the dream of being a true professional, fishing or otherwise. To ALL of the people who work hard everyday and still find time to teach and guide us in our endeavors please accept a heartfelt THANK YOU for your support.

I Know I Did The Right Thing As A Co-Angler
Has there ever been one at this level?

I Know I Did The Right Thing As A Co-Angler
Doing damage to someones career is something I think had to cross his mind before he made his decision to report him. The damage was brought upon himself by himself not by bronzeback doing what he felt was the right thing to do. Weather or not it was a lone error in judgement should not come into play, the plain and very simple fact is he tried to cheat the system by offering a bribe, It does not matter if it was his first time or the 100th time. It is however hard to believe and also sad to hear that someone who has worked so hard to get to the pro's and make it there has to stoop to such a level and bring shame to this sport and himself by doing such a thing in the first place, I hope that this is not the way he achieved his pro level but one has to wonder. The chance to fish with a pro is not within everyones grasp and the lessons we learn from them should not be about bribery.

“This Prevents Me From Fishing History”
I for one enjoy the occasional "Bickering" posts that are put up here by some of you, As Catt stated it opens our minds to new ways of seeing other pionts of view and with the amount of info supplied by these type of posts has tremendously helped me not only on the water but also in life and I for one can not thank you all enough for going through the motions of really driving the point you make home. Thank you all very much!!!

I Know I Did The Right Thing As A Co-Angler
One can only imagine the courage that it took to bring yourself to making that decision and picking up the phone and making that call. Do not concern yourself with what was and still may be being said about you in a negative manner, you have stood up for the right reasons and faced a firing squad and came out a better man for those of us who support you and the decision you made. To me you are a true to life hero that is willing to make a difference and stand firm in your belief's and that makes you a true friend not only to this great sport but to us as well. Hell of a good job !!!!

Having Trouble Staying Hooked Up With Hollow Body Frogs!
You should feel the weight of the fish and then set the hook with a strong upward motion.
