Fish Arent Biting, What Do You Do
I agree with Catt also, but flippin and pitchin offered some real good advice as well. But it really depends on a few things for me. The water clearity the weather and the time of year. If you really think they should have been there then they most likely could have been, But those are the days that make us better understand what we could have or should have done differently. Mostly what I do in that same situation is just make mental notes and try to learn from that and keep fishing in a broader circle maybe with some baits that cover a lot of water in a hurry and at different depths to see where they did go. Also I have fished an area that yeilded no fish the first time around and came back to a starting point and switched tactics and caught fish that otherwise I would have missed. Keep an open mind in times like that and always try to make mental notes and don't be afraid to change it up and hit it again...I just wouldn't wait as long...LOL. Good luck and be safe!!!

Bass Boat Help!!!
ABSOLUTLY GREAT ADVICE!!! Now if I were you there are a couple of things I would keep in mind. 1st do you do your own work on your boats...The newer and bigger the boat and engine, The more expencive the repairs are going to be at a shop. Is this REALLY what you want or is this REALLY what you need because a boat does not win tourney's YOU DO. It is a good looking ride for the money and looks to be well worth it. DO NOT BUY IT WITHOUT A TEST DRIVE FIRST!!! Think about one more thing...Is this going to max out your savings? if it is there may not be room for hidden costs such as wheel bearings...tire blows out etc... Good luck if you do decide to get it and be safe!!!

Kerr Lake
Hey there guy's and gal's, I am heading to Kerr Lake in July and it is going to be my first time there. I want to hit up the bait shops down there too but I was wondering how's the fishing? We are taking the campers down to stay at a friends house and I am not sure where we are launching from all I know is that it is not far from the first bridge there I think it's Rt. 15? Is there any good spots around that area to fish? Or is it just a great place to fish in general? Thanks in advance!!!

Early Heat In Virginia
Either I have not been keeping up with the news or I missed hearing about all of these accidents I know of only a couple, one last year that cost an officer his life. However I am glad they are there and hopefully they will continue to be there, some of these people who drive these big boats are off their rockers!!!

Early Heat In Virginia
Well it's a pretty good size lake and I want you to have fun besides I didn't give up all that much info. Anna she can be pretty tricky but I can too and trust me I have had my butt handed to me a lot over there when I first started going and no one would help me so I know how it feels. Like I said that should get you started catching fish I will leave it up to you to establish your own patterns and such just keep in mind to start where I told you to and it should be a pretty good day for ya. No I do not fish tournaments over there as of yet but I wouldn't mind hooking up with someone although a buddy of mine and I have been wanting to give it a go we have yet to get together on one. Best of luck to you and again be safe!!

New To Bass Fishing
Hello and welcome to the forum!! The best advise I can give you right now is start looking around the forum and find what region you are from. Start reading the post topics you are most interesed in and feel free to ask questions. But before you do go through all of that there is a header at the top of this web site, Click on Fishing articals and the first drop down menu is Bass fishing for beginners, That will be a big help and it will give you a lot of information.

Early Heat In Virginia
As far as your motor is concerned sorry to hear about that and I hope you are able to find a replacement soon. If you go fishing at Anna soon the bigger ones are on the deeper flats now 10 to 25 feet. Below the 208 bridge and the bigger ones will soon be doing the same above the 208 bridge. The water for the most part is clear in the lower end of the lake but still stained on the upper part. Take some 6 to 11 inch lizzards with you in pumpkin seed with a chartreuse swim tail that will get you a few to start with make sure you Carolina rig them, bottom contact is going to be key with your weight. This lake is going to take a LOT of patience since you have never fished a large lake before, There is a lot of water for these fish to roam around in. Remember fishing in the heat of summer is no different (in my opinion) than fishing in the freezing cold it's slow and deeper water the only difference is their metabolism is working a little faster in the warmer water so they will be more likely to chase after your bait, keep yourself off of the banks about 20 yards in the heat of the day and a little closer during the AM and PM. I would start at sturgeons creek across from the power plant and work your way down towards the dam and make sure you have all of your fishing licence and your equiptment you need in order, the VDGIF is out in force over there now. I hope that helps, one final note, Be EXTREMELY careful over there most boaters do not know the first thing about operating their big expencive boats and they do not care about you at all the water will be rough from around 10 to 7 from all of the boat traffic. I hope you and your best friend have a great day at the lake, Good luck and be safe!!

Early Heat In Virginia
I hope you get the chance to do so. Anna was very tough for me the first couple of years and she still spanks me from time to time but it really is a lot of fun, Look me up when you have a chance and I will show you some fun spots if you want. This motor of yours I noticed earlier that you stated you can not get the prop to enguage are you refering to not being able to put in gear?

How Much To Rebuild Trim Motor
You are right the motor part of the system is the cheapest part of it and can be repaired for less than 100 bucks in most electric motor shops. The last overhaul kit I got for my friends boat was just under 200 bucks for the rest of the system.

Help With 6 Hp Evinrude
How mechanically inclined are you? If you are not sure you want to take this carb apart then you should consider a marine tech. I would make sure you clean ALL of the passages out with carb cleaner THOROUGHLY and also make sure your fuel supply is in like new condition...hoses etc...If you can at least do that much that may fix your fuel problem but I would also recomend replacing your plug and plug wire. Good luck and be safe!!!

I Need To Catch Some Fish.
I totally agree with the above statements!!! Welcome to the forum and good luck with the move. First I would do some research before heading to the local waters to see what their diet consists of this time of year. I would try different colors blue/black either worm or jig and slow your presentation down to a crawl to see what that will bring ya. Or maybe a 6" pumpkin seed lizzard with a chartreuse swim tail Texas or Carolina rigged would be a good place to start as well. Both of these combonations seem to work well no matter where I go. Good luck and be safe!!!

Which do you think a bass prefers?
I have caught more bass with a craw bait than with any other bait so my vote goes to the craw. I may be wrong but it seems like every fishing show I ever watch when craws are mentioned by the pros it always seems they say that it is the number one food choice of bass.

Private side of Lake Anna getting better every day
Thanks for the offer!!! I have a friend from work going with me this Saturday on the public side you are welcome to join us if you would like. I have fished the private side several times when invited by friends and love being there but I find the public side a lot more challanging. Elk creek is one of my favorite places over there.
