  1. I use seafoam as well and have never had an issue with it. The only time I use stabill is when I have to store the boat for a while.
  2. Randall, Nice umm bananna bass congrads, and thanks for the pic!
  3. I use deet but I put it on a couple of large rags and lay them on the boat on top of some plastic that seems to work pretty well for me.
  4. :-? Brilliant!!! ;D Nice catch by the way and thanks for the pic.
  5. x2 been a member for a while and even though it's not worth as much now as what they used to be there is still a good bit of useful info and the articles on the fishing men and women are pretty cool too. The bag is a smaller bag but it can hold a fair amount of tackle.
  6. Have you tried any fuel treatments it could be too much eth.or too much octane or some other contaminate that could be carboning your cylinders and varnishing your carb passages. I would try seafoam first mixed with 87 octane and if it gets better I would do another treatment. If nothing changes then I would most likely go look at the carbs then replace the plugs and wires.
  7. Yea i can tell u have a fun sense of imagination lol I am fun to be with I am just really old fashioned. Life to me is that every day is a gift it is what it is day to day and nothing you or I do can stop the inevitable. It's what we do with the time in between that really counts and to me that's all that matters. My most favorite thing to do is fish with my family. My next favorite thing is cooking and camping while drinking a lot of cold long neck bud's. My favorite game to play...and I know I'm gonna get ripped for this one...is CORNHOLE there I said it and its not what your thinking for those of you who have no idea what this game is LOL. As for my fun sense of imagination you really should have a chat with my wife about that one!!! HA HA!!!
  8. Thanks that is what I was looking for I appreciate the info!!
  9. Superstitions are just that Superstitions! You are going to have good days and bad days alike it does not matter what you wear or what you do. Your day or night is dependant upon your attitude and determination to find and catch fish. I am not a believer in luck or any of that other stuff I just simply go fishing and be thankful for what I have been given.
  10. I had read an article from a Rodger Lee Brown ie...The Bass Coach. This article comes from his years of experience with bass fishing and I believe it to be a true statement about the fish going blind. I am in no means trying to start an argument here I am just simply looking for an answer and since you have been posting a long time I am curious as to how you know they don't go blind. I have hauled in some blinded bass before, Is this due a birth defect? Some have been blind only in one eye and others have been blind in both eyes although the ones with both eyes have been few and far between I am confused to say the least as to what the correct answer is here.
  11. You too? LOL...Well at least I learned that beavers do not eat fish.
  12. You might have had some great times, but how can any angler say he/she had a successful fishing trip when he/she didn't catch anything? That attitude has never made any sense to me. It's almost like a copout. It's kinda like an excuse to NOT catch anything. It's like when you catch nothing you can just say "Who cares, I'm just out here to enjoy the birds and relax." I mean I've had some great times when I've been skunked, but "success?" No way man. Calling a fishing trip where you catch no fish a success, is like getting shutout in a football game and calling it a victory. You must not have ever had anything bad happen to you ;D My most recent trip to my favorite lake cost me a great fishing rod and a set of keys but yet it was still a successful trip because my youngest daughter was there and it was a lesson I will never forget. I think this happened to me for a reason and I think it was because I just wasn't giving her the right kind of attention due to the fact that after all was lost the next day we went out...I did not catch one fish all day but she sure did. To me that is still a successful day and I hope that those days come more often than not.
  13. x2 Big baits = Big fish... Slow the presentation down and twitch it along the bottom pick the bait up about a foot and let it fall where those springs are that Catt was asking about and I usually add a clicker on my line with these baits just to help get their attention.
  14. Heavily fished means the fish see a lot of pressure in other words the area in question gets fished hard by a lot of people with a lot of different tackle BUT that does not mean you shouldn't try fishing there because in these cases if you have a lot of patience you will catch some fish. As far as the fish recouping I have had scenarios on more than one occasion where I had a fish break my line close to the boat and I picked up another rod rigged with a different bait and caught the fish I had just lost and retrieved my hook and bait. Although it's rarebut it does happen.
  15. Great job man and thanks for the pic!!
  16. Welcome aboard friend you will find a lot of help here pay no attention to the above comments from our panel of esteemed quotation-ers they really are very smart and as you can see very funny too!! ;D
  17. You are exactly correct the fish do not have eye lids and cannot cover their eyes in the bright sunlit days so they will find cover, docks deep water etc..if they were to stay in shallow water they will go blind eventually.
  18. That is a big misconception about the part of thinking of bass as shallow water fish and a lot of us make that same assumption but the reality is they can and will find homes in deeper waters. The lake I like to fish a lot, Has a grass bed that is about 200 yards wide and close to 150 yards long and is found in water 28 to 35 feet deep that I used my "fish finder" for, So if I had to guess I would say they most likely would have used one too or used a detailed map. I usually fish this area with jigs and I have had some really nice fish come from there. So don't be afraid to go deep!!
  19. I guess if think about it if your presentation catches a fish then it's perfect.
  20. nah, she's a 4, sweet catch man, love catchin em on crankbaits[/quote am i missing sarcasm here? When i look at this fish i think definitely around 6 pounds give or take a pound. Great fish -fish always look smaller on the horizontal pictures x2 Really nice fish congrads and I like the story too!
  21. Awesome!!!!! Thank you for sharing it!!
  22. Are you sure recreational drugs were not in play here? lol. I have seen this before as well but when I looked at my fish, his head above and between the eyes looked like it had been impacted with something at one time or another and possibly pressured the eye sockets.
  23. Jigs are one of my most favorite ways to fish and I can still remember my first one too, congrats!!!
