  1. i recently purchased the H3 titanium big Carolina rig rod because there was pretty good sale on it i believe regular it was $389 and i got it on sale for $198 so i couldnt pass it up. As far as the golf grip goes its very soft and comfortable.
  2. check out the Falcon T7 Split Cast 6'10" Med Hvy. IMHO falcon makes the best rods in that price range
  3. i dont know the exact model ill have to ask him but its the one that is setup like a center console where the two seats are right next to each other
  4. I have the answer to your prayers!! if you dont like ewg you should try OWNER oversized worm hook they are awesome the only hook i use on 10in + worms ENJOY http://www.***.com/Owner_Oversize_Worm_Hooks/descpage-OOW.html
  5. yea i would disagree.. my buddy has an allison and doesnt compare to my ranger at all!! i mean the only thing it does is it is faster and thats it!! my storage, ride, handling etc. is all better.. i mean its a really nice boat though, anyways if it was the best boat ever built like you say dont you think you see more of them on the lakes and in tournaments
  6. the Core 100MgFV also has the oversized power handle
  7. i dont use leaders EVER. your line is your only connection to the fish so why would you want to put another breaking point in it? i dont care how great your knot is, it never made sense to me.. plus with todays premium fluorocarbon you should be able to detect a strike with it, its very sensitive..
  8. this is funny!! me and my fishing partner argue about this all the time.. He wears cabelas guide wear and i wear the 100mph bibs and jacket.. they are both great but id say the 100mph takes it.. the 100mph seals off at the wrist better and all the zippers have laminate cover on them so absolutely no wind or water gets in and i think they look better
  9. power tackle PT Paragon Cast Rod 7' Med Hvy/Mod Fast or a Falcon Cara T7 Micro Guide Casting Rods 6'10"
  10. x2 northstar hippy jigs are my favorite they are flat out awesome!!! i find myself using the alien head the most it stands up great and really gets that rubber skirt flaring, exposing the craw... buckeye are my second favorite
  11. my buddy has a tr18 and it walks pretty bad but other than that its a nice boat
  12. Falcon Cara T7 Micro Guide Casting Rods 6'10" Med Hvy
  13. Have you seen the weight on that thing?? I put one on a rod at the tackle shop and i don't think i could COMFORTABLY pitch all day with it.. might get carpal tunnel lol
  14. I probably have about 10 of these ProQualifier Tournament reels. The've been on sale on and off all year. I also own several of the Carbonlite reels as well. I'll tell you what, if you think $80-100 reels cannot be good, think again. I have owned those $300 reels ... still so, have 4 of the Core 100MgFV. These PQ Tourney reels cast nearly as well as the Cores. PLUS they're just as light. Love them ... I interchange the slow 5:1 gears out of a few of them off of the Revo Winch ... plus upgrade their bearings ... SMOOTH cranking reel!!! Don't worry, go get a few. I will when the go on sale this weekend. Sorry i have to disagree about the pro qualifier being as light as a core... really they are what they are, they're a good $100 reel but to say they compare to a core is...... :
  15. i ALWAYS wrap my line around. You can end up with a pretty big mess on your hands if you don't. Prime example Me and my partner were fishing a tournament and we had about 6 key spots we were rotating throughout the day. Well the spots were all pretty close except one that was about a 15min boat ride. i was just putting my rods in the rod box and not wrapping for the short trips. well the main lake was a little rough and when we made that trip it tangled just about all my rods were they couldnt be untangled.. so i spent the half an hour trying to sort through this with little success. i had to cut the line on about 20+ rods and retie.. needless to say i never leave without wrapping my rods. and no it doesnt hurt the line if just wrap it once or twice
  16. I know man, ice fishing just doesn't do it for me. yall should be in texas right now fishing with me lol it feels awesome on T Bend mid to high 70s
  17. nahhh not the Cara T7s maybe the bucoos and the HD.. To each his own though thats what great about this site you will get many great recomendations! Heres what i have found with the shimano cruicial rod (i have the 7ft med hvy) my reasons why i like the Falcon Cara T7 more than the Crucial: the cara is lighter, its available without the foregrip, i like the reel seat better on the cara, I think its more sensitive, you can get them with micro guides which those little things are growing on me i love mircro guides!
  18. Get the Cara T7 micro Head Turner CCM-6-1610. I have mine paired with curado 50e and thats my wacky worm rod its perfect for me.. i also have the weightless worm rod and let me tell you it makes one hell of a topwater rod!! .. To me the weightless worm rod does not have enough backbone to be throwing a worm on it. On toledo there is alot of grass and standing timber so i want a rod that i can move the fish away from that as fast as i can.. and don't let the label heavy action scare you the head turner feels like a med hvy. Hope this helps!
  19. of course its a great time!! lol i don't know about up there but down here soft plastics dominant!! im not sayin i dont throw cranks, spinnerbaits, and other reactions baits but when i want good quality fish its soft plastics and jigs all the way and theres nothing i love more than throwing a big ol worm in the pre spawn
  20. please tell me you killed that fn snakehead!! i would have heart attack if those things made there way to texas
  21. my fiance bought herself the 6'6 HD one weekend when i was at the lake and when i got home she was so proud of herself lol she paired with a citica thats my girl!!! but anyway she likes it and has caught alot of fish on it with no problems
  22. they aren't going to be anything like your falcon experts but for 69.99 brand new and they are just for the grandkids you can't beat that deal
  23. thats exactly how Academy is too!! i bought an all star rod from them 8yrs ago and it broke within the first month if i remember correctly and its just been sitting in the tackle room at my camp.. well this past spring i was like what the hell i should try and take it back lol at least i could get an instore credit and get some tackle.. so i took it back and no questions asked they gave me instore credit for a 8yr old rod lol
  24. I have the BPS 100mph bibs and jacket and i've had ZERO problems with them leaking very durable material
