Cellphone/14Yr Old
Unless your kid is four, he will be horribly embarrassed to the point of not even using the thing, and you'll be paying for it. Just get a basic phone, that looks like a basic phone.

Cabelas Trip . . . Purchases Made!!!
Since it will be mostly cranks and spinnerbaits, i would look for a 7' M/F rod, and whatever spinning reel you like in the appropriate size and price range. As fat as line goes, I would look for a good mono. Sensitivity is not as important for moving baits, and the added stretch will be helpful with cranks and spinners. I would get 8# Sufix Elite. It handles very VERY good, good strength, and the knots are exceptional. Its also relatively cheap at something like 8$ for 330 yards.

Newest Is Best, In My Lineup
Not for me, I've had my Daiwa Fuego for some time now, a 2005 reel, and used to have a SOL before it was stolen. They were discontinued, but were my favorite reels compared to my newer stuff like Curado's, and some BPS reels, etc. As far as when I get a new product, it does get a bit more use even when it's not warranted, but I want to try out my new product to get a good feel for it. Using it more doesn't make it my favorite.

Finesse Bc Set Ups
If you plan on dropping MGX bucks for a finesse reel, get a Daiwa Pixy. They'll handle the lower weights much better, with minimal backlash problems. You want the lightest spool possible. Pair it up with a ML/XF rod, (You want some backbone, not a noodle), and some 6# flouro, and you've got a true finesse caster my friend (:

Cellphone/14Yr Old
I've had one since I was in 6th grade. It helps so that I can be free and do my own thing, walk to friends houses and stuff like that, and I can keep in touch with my parents so they know i'm safe, and of course for emergencies. It also helped a TON with other school/sport related activities, so I could call my parents and tell them stuff like cancelations, longer practices, etc, that they would not know. IMO, they should have atleast a basic phone. They want a smartphone? If they really want it, tell them to pay the bill for it. Thats what I do. I think I pay somewhere around $40 a month, my share of the family plan. That includes internet also. As far as not wanting your kids looking at the nudies on certain websites, you can easily block that by calling your service provider

Powell Diesel Rods, Anyone Taking A Chance?
Rock, he was asking if how they compare to those rods, not saying they were more sensitive

50# Braid Kinda Acts Like A Sail
It's a characteristic of braid, only way to make is less of a problem is to drop line diameter, just the nature of the beast.

O.m.g! " Meet The Teacher" Day Today
Lol. Most of the female teachers in the upper class are either milfs or hot college broads. Most of the ugly old ladies teach freshman English or something.

This one is pretty good too. I can skip pretty well with BC gear, but no where near that level

Braid For T Rigs?
I mainly use straight fluoro, because the cover I fish doesnt dictate the use of heavy braid for t-rigs. Now if we're punching or pitching, thats a different story. I use fluoro because when fishing a texas-rig, your often fishing a semi-slack line. Fluoro will transmit vibration on semi-slack, as where braid you will feel nothing until the line is taught. The only exception I would make to use braid and a leader would be EXTREMELY heavy cover, but im that situation, i'm probably opting for a different technique

Rod Covers?
I've never had an issue with the rods, perhaps just a bad batch got out. Happens to all manufacturers eventually. Im sure Powell will correct it if you give them a call.

Rod Covers?
I use the plastic mesh kind, but I don't have a particular preference brandwise. They're the same to me.

What Do You Guys Use To Ship A Rod?
A 10 ft PVC tube cost me about 8 bucks. Just wrap the tip in bubble wrap or a lot of crumpled newspaper, some tape, and your good to go. Actually shipping via USPS cost me around 15$ for 8 foot tubing, less for 7

Stolen Gear.
It's a very small bathroom, to take my tackle and rod in there then there wouldnt be room for me to have a seat. Porta-pooper sized really.

Budget Jig/worm Rod
I would get the Powell, or look at the Daiwa T series of rods. I've been highly impressed with the diesel in the short time I've had at, and impressed with the T series a well

Powep pro 8 seems more round and silky, while I feel 832 is thinner and more waxy feeling. That said, I use 832
