East coast guys worried?
Actually, it most likely will take its path just clipping VA an NC, but the center is just clipping us. We still get the full force, especially where I live in Eastern VA (Stafford). But it all depends on how fast the Hurricane and the cold front are moving, along with the angle of the cold front. Luckily late last nite the hurricane is moving 1 mph less, which actuallt could make a difference. But, the pressure has dropped to 933 millibars which means its getting stronger. But the angle of the cold front tells us where it goes. It could hit directly at NC or take a direct hit to Maine. I guess we'll just have to wait now won't we :

Whats your take on "slowing down"?
Thats because KVD's bass boat is literally filled with MONSTER energy drink and he chugs it like college kids doing a keg stand. ;D

Whats your take on "slowing down"?
Literally, fish every technique slower than you normally do.

quick braid question
Alright, I will go with 50#. So.....with the mono on right now, I can just go make a long cast and maybe add another 10 yds, cut from there and tie on the braid? with what....blood knot? I had no idea that I could tie together different lines on a spool. I dont know why, but I just figured that the whole spool had to be one continuous line with no knots or it would weaken it somehow. :-[ I hear about needing "backing" with braid. Is that why you say to leave on some of the mono? (Besides, not having to use as much expensive braid) Also what is meant by digging in and laying down? I hear people say they have problems like that with braid. Thanks for the edumacation. ;D Basically digging in with braid is when you set the hook or something like that, because of its thin diameter it will dig in to the spool, thus be under other line, and when you cast you will backlash terribly. However once you go above 40# braid you will have no digging in problem.

East coast guys worried?
Well, you and me both are in for a long night because If it comes the westerly path its gonna be all over user late thursday night and veryearly friday morning. But, i'm man enough to admit i'm scared. When I was younger a Hurricane came up from florida to up here and was spawning tornadoes left and right. One actually tore up my neighborhood sparing my half of it. I sure hope it doesn't take the western path abd turn the east coast into a New Orleans. Edit: The rain will be very nice for fishing though because rain this summer, has been few and far between for my area

Early OCT -What areas would you target on this lake?
Shallow creek arms for me 8-)

East coast guys worried?
Is anyone else worried about if Hurricane Earl decides to come up right along the East coast instead of it just clipping us? I live in VA and if it takes that path I think VA and Northern NC will be hit the worst. Whats your thoughts on Hurricane Earl?

How to videos
I have a Kodak Zi8 and its pretty nifty Wish I woul've just got a waterproof edition camera but oh well : Also be careful with your camera because these "Pocket HD cameras" by Kodak have plastic threads for a tri-pod. I learned it the hard way because while it was on my tri-pod it tipped and fell over. Now the threads are useless.

Braid VS Mono & Spool (Q. Accurist)
Just put mono on then if you don't want to buy alot of line. I think the 1/4# spool at Wally World was only like $9.

Braid VS Mono & Spool (Q. Accurist)
It happens I say spool up the braid and make sure its good to go, and bring the mono just incase they backlash your braid so bad you have to chainsaw it off

quick braid question
1. On baitcasting 40# line is the MINIMUM without digging in noticeably. I reccomend 50# 8-) 2.If you buy PowerPro , which I personally recommend, it will come with some arbor tape to put on the spool, so yes literally the same mas mono if you want the whole spool to be braid. 3.Mono has stretch, braid doesn't. It will be noticeably more sensitive than mono and you will really feel those spinner blades thumping. And you will feel it alot better when a fish picks up your jig. Basically instead of feeling "Oh i hit a tree, oh i hit a weed bed", you will feel "Oh I just hopped over 3 twigs, Oh I just went through a couple blades of grass and over some gravel". IMO difference is HUGE 8-) Also if you buy PowerPro its cheaper at Wal-mart. 150 yds of your choice for like 12$ while BPS and other major stores sell 100 yds for like $15. 8-)

Braid VS Mono & Spool (Q. Accurist)
Oh I thought we were talking castability ;D whoops ! Well by nature braid has more a tendency to dig in than other lines (Atleast when I use it) but It may be me but i've never had a backlash or anything due to "dig in". Mono almost never lies into itself but I don't think you'll really notice any dig in the braid unless your using weightless worms, were the line will spool on "mushy" which in my mind is where the dig in effects really shine. Edit: And when tying on briad to (inset line here) I always use an Alberto knot

How many use brakes?
My casts are typically like the cracking of a whip, so I prefer centrifugal. Dual braking is nice on windy days, though. x2 ;D
-
Braid VS Mono & Spool (Q. Accurist)
IMO that difference is just too small to humanly notice any effects.

Which backlashes more?
I find braid is easier "When your thumb starts to dumb" and especially for first time casters, when price is not an issue. And no memory lets me sometimes cast not even touching the spool. IDK why but I just cant use mono on baitcasting. Something about it makes me wanna scream because I have to chainsaw my line off. And water will always be better for practicing to "thumb" your baitcaster because your line will be wet, letting it slip under your thumb. And hell, maybe he'll catch a fish while practicing 8-) Also don't let him tie on anything less than 1/4 ounce at first
