Braided Line And Gin Clear Water
I dont think it matters really, but then again, if the fish are really picky it just might. I would tie on a leader just to be on the safe side though. It can't hurt to use a leader, but it might hurt by using straight braid.

Switching To Lefty
If your a side-hooksetter, I found it helped me to set the hook with the rod turned to handle up ( for lefty reels.) and then turn it 45 degrees back to reel the fish in. That made it alot more comfortable for me, maybe it'll help for you.

Kistler Magnesiums?
I've been looking at Kistlers lately due, and im interested in getting one because they run a buy one, get one free very often. I was looking at the Micro Magnesiums, and was wondering about everyone's thoughts on them, and how they compare to the likes of Powell, and St.Croix. With the B1G1 free deal, it would be about 100 per rod, so next sale I might get two. What do you guys think about these? Any input is welcome, thanks!

Diawa Products
Daiwa's are just better in my eyes. Once you fish with a decent Daiwa you'll see why. Every company has crappy bottom dollar products, but once you try a good one you'll never go back. They also innovate alot. With Magforce-Z, to their newer T-Wing line guide, you'll see they're always about newer technology. How many other brands do you see doing that? I know I dont see Abu, SHIMANO, or any other companies doing new things. Also, I think they're build quality is higher than the rest. They also have sort of niche reels, like the Pixy, which is pretty much finesse only. They are my favorite reels on the market, albeit, slightly more expensive, but until you try one you'll never know. To start with Daiwa, I would look for a used Fuego, or SOL. The can be found easily for 125-150, and are really top notch. They also have alot of potential to be customized, and tuned. For example, people often turn their pixies into "Pixzillas" where they bought parts from a few other reels to create an awe inspiring reel. If you can, I''d recommend you demo a reel from Tackle Warehouse, try a Zillion, and you're pants will be blown off.

Switching To Lefty
I can only use lefty reels for flipping and pitching, everything else, it just feels WAY to un-natural.

One More Week!!!!!!
Ooops, I meant season opener And Haters gonna hate, if I remember correctly we beat the redskins twice. And why did DeMarco have bad games? Our starting Fullback was out. If you look it up, when the we had the fullback, he averaged tons of yards per carry. Without him, he averaged very little.

Hoping For Some Input On My "ideal" Three Rod Setup.
As for rods, I would recommend a MH, and a H for what you want to do. The Carbonlites are certainly a great option, along with the Falcon Bucoos. I think the Falcons are the best rods you can get for $100. I would look at their 6'10" MH/F and their 7' H/F. However, if you want to try an awesome rod for the price, look at the Powell Diesel rods at Tackle Warehouse. From what I hear they are EXTREMELY nice, but I have yet to fish one. However, I do have a lot of experience with the Max, and Endurance line, and they simply cannot be beat by anything under $200. Another rod I own, that I'm impressed with so far is Daiwa's T-Rods. They run a bit powerful, so a M is somewhere inbetween a M and MH. As far as tip speeds, for most applications I really like an X-Fast tip speed, but fast will be fine. My three rods I take with me are a 6'8" M/XF, a 6'7" MH/XF, and a 6'9" H/XF. I like you, like shorter rods, and almost always use single hook lures for their lack of snagability. I can use almost anything on these 3 rods, and when I do have the urge to throw a crank, which is almost always a Squarebill, I can do it very nicely on my M/XF, or MH depending on the water i'm fishing.

Yeah, coming from Lacrosse I know alot about what alloys have better strength to weight ratios, Titanium, or Scandium, would just be too costly for what it is.

What To Look For In A Baitcast Reel
I dont want to be a Debbie Downer here, but unless you can spend 90-100 bucks for a combo, your gonna have trouble with it, and will probably sour your tastes of it. I would wait until you can afford a decent one.

How To Start A Niche Product Company In Fishing.
Interesting and shocking update for all who care to know, I got my shipments of CF in today, and cut out the base shapes for proof of concept out very carefully a dremel, and sanded to shape. I was really hoping the results would be good, but it appears that CF is just to brittle of a material to use. I was fascinated that it worked with Aluminum. My theory is that because it was Aluminum, it had a small amount of give in the metal. The CF just seemed to snap. So you may be wondering, why not just use Aluminum if it works? Well, aluminum is heavier. You see, what I had invented was a much stronger design than the standard today, so by it being a stronger design, you can lessen your material used, until its the strength of the current design. The new design should in theory have the same strength, but at a fraction of the weight. It would just be heavier and cumbersome with Aluminum. However, I had an idea spark off of my idea yesterday when someone thought I was working on a CF handle. I have an idea i'll test out with some spare CF, and I really think this could be beneficial. It's time to change the game on handles, i'm talking next level stuff. I dont think I can take on the whole process though, so i'll probably look to partner up with my technology. HawgTech, expect a PM, or a call of some sorts.

Braided Vs. Monofilament Line
Power Pro, Spiderwire, and all that stuff is like a bandsaw, far from smooth. But then again, no braid is mono smooth. The smoothest braided lines out there are Sufix 832, Power Pro Super Slick 8, Daiwa Samurai, and a few others I cant think of ATM. However, for the smoothest superlines, look for fused superlines as apposed to braided. Look at Original Fireline and Sufix Performance fuse.

Daiwa Jupiter, T Series
I never updated the thread, but I got the T-Series 7' MH/XF. I love the rods, the balance fine, sensitivity is pretty good, (Its only 75$, definately not a loomis), and I love the ACS reel seats (Why I got it, LOL) But anyways, these rods run pretty stiff, so my MH is somewhere inbetween MH and H

A standard handle made of CF? Those have been around for forever, and are not new, however they look good, and are affordable now. I'm talking about some new-new here.

Thats good info lund, thank you! As of right now, initial tests with the basic shape and different tests have yielded good, but mixed results. with some spare aluminum, proof of concept was great, but with wood, it wasn't (well, its wood, you dont build this type of thing from wood). Plastic didn't prove anything, except that standard, and my design both broke. I'm hoping CF proves the same result the way that aluminum did.

There's no layering involved, I just bought two sheets for mistakes, and/or tweaks.

Big, i'd love to take you up on that offer. I just started making some basic drawings on AutoCAD (Its been a few years since I learned to use it in Tech Drawing, so it might take me a while) and i'm still trying to figure out how to make it so I can do a 3d model for you. (right now its pure 2d, just the shape). I'll send you a PM tonight after work. Lund, by "I & We", I mean mostly me, but my dad is helping me out with some stuff. Just me and him. And i've thought about the idea of selling it to a company, but I don't really know how to go about doing that, and I don't want it to be something silly or jokingly to them. But of course, to sell it to them, you need to show them it works, which is part of the reason I need prototypes.
