  1. wait for the carbonlite to go on sale
  2. Depends on what you'll give me for it
  3. Ardent Reel Butter. Can be commonly found in my household... On a serious note, if you dont have a fishing reel specific grease, don't use it. There is a reason that they make grease for reels, and it's not so you can use whatever you may have in your home.
  4. I thought about that, but I love using my Powell 6'7" MH/XF for spinners. And pretty much all I use is plastics, jigs, and spinnerbaits with a little dabbling into hardbaits. Maybe I should just use it as an AP rod for when I only want to take one?
  5. Well more specifically what exactly do you like to use your 7' mh/f avid for? I have mine and I havent found what I really like it for, and I found it has taken a backseat to my Powells. Just wondering what you all like yours for because mine hasn't seen too much time on the water.
  6. ... For me and my dad. They weren't slammin, but the bites we got were quality. Watermelon Seed Flukes were the ticket today, and seem to have been every time we go. Anyways I got a 5.5 and my dad a 4.5. Enjoy the pics! Ignore my weird facial expressions. I was talking when he snapped the photos
  7. poppers. Just never throw em, so I'll never catch em' on it
  8. The Ko-Man-Chis are the bee knee's you know. Unfortunately I'm down to my last one Other than that I love Northstar, and War Eagle makes a nice one along with Stanley. I cant tell you much more info because i'm not huge on the blades

Is the fluke just simply sliding up the line? Or is it ripping off completely and flying somewhere. If it's just sliding up the line that's normal and perfectly fine. If you want to keep it down there I'd suggest picking up a hook with a bait keeper on it, like the Mustad KVD Grip Pin Soft Plastic hooks. Yep, its a soft plastic jerkbait so you fish it almost very similar to a regular jerkbait. I usually start with rythmic twitches and then adjust to find out what they're keying in on
  12. St.Croix Avif 7' MH/F with 50 # Seagaur Kanzen, mostly dragging footballs

The bait might be too stretched in between the bend of the hook and where it penetrates that plastic if that makes sense. I dont want it tight, nor squished on the hook. Just more like the hook being there. And the Caffeine shad is a good option when I want more of a senko type approach with a fluke, but the ole Super Fluke is still tried and true, and what I go for most of the time.
  14. Well, im only 16, but sometimes when I run up the stairs I use all fours. Also, when I was in elementary school all the kids on my street would wait for the bus. Well, there was a pear tree there so half the year we would cover all of a 10 ft wide section of street with them (Literally, covered) and laugh histerically when people drove over them at like 30 and they blew up. We still do that sometimes for old times sake
  15. These are my feelings exactly.
  16. Doesn't mean I wont pull for em' and talk sh** about every one else
  17. Yup, try and find one of those clip on plastic spacers. Just put a lil grease on it and your good to go
  18. Did anybody catch the Sharks Kings game last night? Man it was great! Good game to end the regular season. But anyways, Beantown sucks, CAPS are better, sorry 'bout it. And San Jose is my other favorite, so they therefore will win the west. BUT ITS PLAYOFF TIME WHEN ALL THE GAMES ARE INTERESTING!!!
  19. This thread is priceless
  20. What fluoro are you throwing? It could just be the line...
  21. I would skip braid all together and just spool straight fluorocarbon. Your fishing in light cover, and clear water. You really dont need braid. If your going to be using plastics or any other sort of semi-slack line technique, braid will feel dead and you'll be able to feel stuff with flouro. However if your using cranks or a reaction type bait, just go with straight braid in 50#
  22. Powell and St.Croix without a doubt. And Outdoorsman, if we go fishing sometime i'll let you try out my Max and Endurance, they're fantastic.
  23. For what it's worth, I've been killing them with frogs, even though there's not alot of cover in the Potomac yet. On my Avid MH/F it seems to be a good match
  24. I really like the Strike Kings as well. I also like the color "Green Pumpkin Saphire" that they come in, which I can only seem to find at BPS.
