Revo S
i have to agree the line going to one side will point to the levilwind/pawl. might get away with just replacing the pawl. and the handle sticking like that. hmmm the advice i can give is if you dont see anything wrong with the gears or anything when you took it apart. it could be the anti reverse bearing. i just had to replace mine and it made a grind kinda pop when it would start messing up and it eventually broke on a hook set. im guessing the needles on mine were trying to engage while i was reeling causing the grinding on the handle. just my 02 cents.

knot / hook help please
ok so here is the problem i have recently acquired. thought i would get some advice from you guys on what to do. this only happens with braided line. never fluoro. and only with worm hooks and so far it doesnt matter the brand of hook. the trouble im having is when setting the hook or fighting the fish somehow the braid slips out of the hook eye. so my question is how do i remedy this??? i love the braid and dont want to switch but im tired of losing fish and having to retie. braid is power pro 30lb hooks have been eagle claw, gammy, bps.... tried several hooks and end up with the same thing eventually. so any ideas guys?

What is your favorite moment while catching a Big bass
hmm the bite starts it all thats when you stop in mid sentence talking to your fishing buddy. and then the instant that big fish makes the jump and splashes back into the water. consequently no one is talking in the boat after this happens. concentration is on the fish then.

boating courtesy
your right common courtesy is not a law. However it is something that should be understood. it's not that hard to slow down in a small channel and in a big spot like pickwick its not that hard to move over so you dont try and rock people out of the boat. and i may be reading it wrong and if so ill have to apologize in advance but if you think that if its not law its ok to do it then thats part of the problem!!

Buying 1st fishing boat...need room for 4.
i dont know if this will be big enough or not but we have been looking at this for 3 fishing and i dont see why you couldnt do 4 in it. just a thought http://www.g3boats.com/EagleSeries/176/

boating courtesy
yeah if i have kids i will teach them its not ok. but man im new to the boating world after just starting this year. but everyone i have always been with would always turn or head out away from another boat to keep from causing a big wake. but im guessing thats overrated or undertaught one

boating courtesy
what is going on with this small thing that 90 % of boaters dont seem to have and its mainly fisherman im seeing. The problem is boats coming within 20-30 ft wide open while we are sitting there fishing. happens a lot at pickwick i mean alot. and then this weekend in aliceville actually had a boat go between us and the bank. we were maybe 50 ft off the bank. close enough for me to not pay attention and wind up with a lure in the trees. and i know its not just kids. the 2 guys that did it this weekend were in their 40's easily. anyone else experiencing the same thing??

revo sx vs stx
well ive owned an s ,sx, winch, and an stx for about 3 days. broke one of the paddles on the handle on a hookset. bad luck i guess. The sx is the best casting reel out of all of them that i own. i mainly keep a fluke on this reel because it is ridiculous just how far it will throw it. for the money i would buy another sx.

Ugly Stick with braid?
no problems from me with braid on an ugly stick. been doing it for years now. but i think im getting old cause the weight is starting to wear on my wrist. im slowly trying to switch to a lighter rod.

revo durability
i have several revo's myself. and i love every one of them. they all cast great and the drag works like a dream. only problem i have is a revo s that ive had since 07 i think. i broke the anti reverse bearing in it. which ive since learned the errors of my ways. 50 lb braid with the drag set on kill. and a hard hookset i learned from my grandfather lol

First smallies, I think I'm hooked!
and anyone else used fluke's for smallie's. this was pretty much all we had with us seeing as how we were catfishing but they werent biting. but the smallmouths were hammering the fluke's

First smallies, I think I'm hooked!
yes i have to agree. caught my first smallies this past week at pickwick. think we caught in between 20-30 on wednesday. i wound up with one 4 lber. my gf caught one that was 3 pounds and it ruined the zebco 33 she was fishing with. she turned to me and said i think its time i get a baitcaster. she is getting expensive and hard to beat fishing. I also lost the biggest fish i have ever had hooked ill go on the conservative side and say it was around a 7lb smallie. and that is being conservative. ive never had anything fight like that one did. and ive never wanted to cry so much from losing a fish hahaha

fish doesnt recover from hookset
This is what i practice. always been told that it would work its way out naturally. and i agree with the circle of life.

10 mistakes amateur anglers make
crying when they lose a big big fish. :'( that was me this week. lost about a 7 lb smallie at pickwick. umm the one problem with "amateur" in the boat is they forget they are in a confined space. as in i get whipped with a bait every now and then.

To cold for top water ?
for me the best luck ive had has been in the early morning or late late afternoon. also dead heat of summer is when i get the most bites on top water. ive had a few bites already this year on top water. still getting more bites on lizards and jigs. but have had a few bites on topwater. water temps here are mid to high 70's the last time i was out

Need advice!!
one of my personal favorites is a fluke. also love the buzzbait when the sun is going down.

Taking a girl fishing
biggest problem i have is she tries to outfish everyone in the boat. and has gotten d**n close the last few times. i only beat her by one fish last time we were out. I get to go roughly 4 times a week on my weeks off. and she wants to go everytime. now she wants a baitcaster and learn how to use it. so she is starting to get expensive

Good Jig Trailers

-
Yum Money Hound
i finally got to try mine out the other day. i missed a pretty nice bass after fishing with it for about 30 minutes. but the top water bite is not on right now in my area. it does have good action though. i think hook ups will be an issue though.

Biggest Mistake After Putting The Boat In The Water
haha.so far ive been lucky and remembered before actually launching the boat. best one i got is me and two other friends were putting in one of their boats. it was a stick steer that would also start in gear. the owner of the boat back my other friend in. it not being his boat had alot of trouble getting it to start. so he started giving it more gas when it finally did start he had the motor kicked all the way to one side and wide open. lol he was not ready for this. he fell out of the seat and was on his head and shoulders wedged beside the batter while the boat was standing at about 60 degrees in the air and going in circles. hahaha the momentum was enough it took him a long time to get back up enough to cut the engine back off. meanwhile we layed on the shore crying we were laughing so hard at him.
