They take used rods and reels in trade. You fill out an online form listing what you have to trade. You rate your stuff based on criteria they give you. They are very generous if your stuff is in good shape. I listed my stuff as excellent condition and it wasn't disputed. I had several rods and reels that I had acquired while working at BPS. They were just gathering dust. One thing, they only take name brand tackle. Can't trade anything store branded, such as BPS Pro Qualifier, Extreme, or anything like that. Hootie

Through some trades with American Legacy Fishing. I walked out the door with a brand new G Loomis NRX rod, and a Shimano Core 100 MG7..... Along with some other assorted tackle, hat and a G Loomis hoodie. $160.00 out of pocket. Hootie
