Yo Zuri Hybrid
Somebody on here did a survey not to long ago comparing the stretchability, diameter and some other characteristics of the most popular lines sold. If you do a search I'm sure you'll find it. Mike

Texas Rig : With or Without bead ?
I Always use a bead except when I throw a Florida rig. Other than knot protection, when hitting the weight an intermediate clicking sound, especially in stained water can only help. Tip...If you use a glass bead always check it periodically. Glass has a tendency to chip banging against the tungsten weight all day. Not so much useing lead. Mike

FC or Braid for Chatterbaits
12# Yo-Zuri has an advertised breaking strength of 19#. I don't know what kind of grasses you have, but can't imagine it being much different than what grows down here in South and Central Fla. I tried useing 16# Sniper but it really wasn't that much better and personaly I really don't see any advantage to useing straight, top of the line flouro for any type of moving baits. And I just don't trust the cheaper brands....Been there and done that. But Bottom contact? Absolutely Mike

The Mental State of Pure Florida Bass... Aloof....You hit her in the head with a 1 oz weight and she'll just look up at you and shake it off. Apathetic...Hungry or not, if she don't feel like moving she won't. She'll just sit in one spot and watch your bait swim by and look the other way. Recalcitrant....You do the right thing, in the right place, at the right time...She knows it but couldn't care less. Mike

Frog fishing
You got a lot of excellent advise on the how and where. The when really depends on your water. I live in Florida so down here the "rules" are a little different. There are days throughout the year that I won't throw anything else and get bit in open water at high noon. Early morning and late evening seems to be the sweet spot for most of the country so I would hit it hard during those times but in a pond try it at different times and see what happens. I know guys who stop throwing a frog when the sun comes over the top of the trees!....Don't get pigeon holed into that kind of thinking. Most guys on this forum are in love with the Pad Crasher and anything from Spro They are excellent but try others to see what you like. I'm partial to the Scum and Live Target they all have thier plus's Have Fun Mike

I'm struggling please help me!
If its a fairly new community there very well may be nothing in there. However, if there is the best luck I have when fishing retension ponds including golf courses, is with a white fluke, watermelon red stick bait and a frog. Good Luck, and watch where you step...Make some noise as you approach the bank if its overgrown and keep watching the water in front and both sides of you for any signs of unusual surface disturbance. If you have a small dog, leave it home. Mike Mike
